Kolkata New Market is one of the vitel market in Kolkata. Many kinds of goods you not to count all which product you can collect from new market. There is so many shops in foot path of around new market. Clothing, crocrise items, ladis parts, bed sheets, electric goods are slod there at loest price. Its a very close distance from Dharmotala and Splanate.

Amazing place for shopping and hangouts. India's first supermarket. Everything is available under the same roof. Now there are so many malls, and supermarkets, in Kolkata. But it's amazing as it has a long history. Once upon a time no one visiter of Kolkata dropped their doorsteps in this place. But it lost its monopoly. But it is also a Heritage site.

It's located centrally in Esplanade. It's perhaps the most famous marketing complex in Kolkata. Only problem with this is it is pathetically maintained. Just go buy and run. This is what most of the city have condition.

New Market Kolkata, also known as Hogg's Market, this is Kolkata's oldest and best known market. It's got over 2000 stalls that sell everything from clothing to wheeled luggage to electronics to a special cheese found nowhere else and is a treat for those who like to hunt for a good bargain. New market is a place to shop for garments & accessories, flowers, different food items including raw meat, fish, vegetables and fruits and even spices. There are crockeries and utensil stores. It also has a florist section dealing with exotic flowers.

Kolkata's most oldest and well-known market place. It harbors all kind of cultures and you can find almost anything here. Going there gives you a feel of the bygone era with the new generation zing.

You can call it the heart of Kolkata, be familiar with New Market and you can get almost everything from here, you can see a huge collection of jewellery, bags, garments here;but you've to be an expert in bergaining. As it's a crowded place you've to be a little careful of your belongings. And you can taste various street food here.

1950's when I first went there to today, its quality and ambience has fallen a bit but still remains a must for those visiting calcutta

New Market is a market in Kolkata situated on Lindsay Street, beside Free School Street (Mirza Ghalib Street/Rani Rasmoni Road). Although primarily New Market referred to the original enclosed market, today in local parlance, the entire shopping area is often known as "New Market".

People say what you don't find in New Market probably doesn't exists.this is the oldest market complex in Asia and was named Hog Market. Calcutta Municipal Corporation functions in a part of this building
