Mutton biryani was ok.rice is nothing special but good. The mutton piece is relatively small.burhani was good actually. The rezala was a joke.service was not great

We ordered two mutton biriyani. They gave me the worst piece ever only fat no mutton. When I asked them to change they refused and was blaming us. Please see the mutton piece. Please dont waste ur money in this rest.

The food was pathetic and the behaviour of the staffs was horrendous. Though the ambience was good.

It's a old, very reputed & renowned Restaurant and food quality is also very good. For my student life I.e. Since 1977 onwards, I use to go this Restaurant. Today, 's phogographs are taken from Hogg Building top.

The place is literally overcrowded and I waited for more than 20 mins trying to get a table for myself. The receptionist whoever he was, was rude. Although I tried to ask the servers around if they could at least help us with takeaway they hardly heard anything. In total I had a terrible experience. I went with a lot of hope as i have heard a lot of good things about the food, but actually was disappointed.

The food tasted great. However, the interiors were dilapidated and dirty. Needs better maintenance.

Special mutton biriyani was too good.and the ambience is really awesome. But once I ordered chicken tandoori kabab, it was not properly cooked. After having that I was about to vomit.please note that.

Best destination for kathi rolls. Nizam's kathi roll, biriyani and kebabs are mouthwatering and so delicious. Chicken was soft, juicy.

Despite the delicious food, I'm shocked by the staff's cheating. I had asked for onion to go along with the food. They sliced up an onion and charged me ₹55! For a ₹20 bottle of water, they charged ₹30, even though it has been settled that water cannot be sold beyond MRP! When confronted, the ' manager' claimed it is the 'policy of management'. Such crooks!

I don't recommend this restaurant at all. Please, don't go to this restaurant and don't waste your money. It was the worst biryani experience. We had ordered the Special Chicken Biryani, Chicken Chaap, and Chicken Malai Kebab. The pieces of chicken were too hard to chew, and the Chicken Chaap tasted terrible. Furthermore, it seemed like they used old malai in the Chicken Malai Kebab.

Food quantity is too less as per price, quality is also disappointing!
First time experience is too bad!
It's not expected from a such renowned restaurant!

Not great quality food. Service was very off. They switched off the AC at 10.30 pm only saying that it's closing time (actual closing time is 11.30 pm). Mutton kasa and mutton seekh kebab is NOT recommended. Don't have it. Cleanliness is not maintained. Just good in pictures. Nice interiors but not good food.

Food quality is good but service is very low, after ordering the food too much waiting for food. The atmosphere is ok. (old vibes)
But all the staff are Good.

Heard a lot about it. About it's roll. But I'm disappointed with this. We took chicken kati roll. But I don't like it much. Service was good. It was my personal experience.

The food is awesome especially the chicken roll.for dessert go for the firni it's delicious.

Too much waiting time, food quality good, must try item 'Egg Chicken Kathi Roll'

Worst service and If you see their washroom you can die on the spot. And restaurant is very dirty. Will never visit and never ever will recommends someone else.

I cannot find a better place for having great biriyani at such a reasonable price.

Firni is a must have for the people who prefer mild sweetness.

None was coming to our table for taking our order and there was no menu card in the table.

We have to go to the counter to place our order.

Ordered for 1 mutton and 1 chicken kathi roll.but after sometime they informed us only we can have chicken because mutton wasn't ready.so ordered 2 chicken rolls.

The roll was not up to the mark as per its reputation and you can have far better rolls in any road side food stalls.

After having the food we asked for a bill and it took another 15min. But the restaurant was mostly vacant, still they are still processing slow.

Today we visited Nizam Dharamtala (Nerw Market, Talatala) ordered chicken and mutton biryani but they were served cold and most importantly the murgh malai kabab which was ordered was served stale.the malai which was put on top of the chicken was totally stale and we informed them about it but they kept denying stating it's of this taste itself and they won't return it.their behaviour was such like as if we were having those food for free.the management needs to provide some serious feedback to the employees and front desk resource hiring (waiter, supervisor & manager) needs to be revisited immediately else customer service satisfaction will impact which will also impact their sales and growth heavily. Hope this feedback would be acted on.

We ordered Egg Mutton Kathi Roll, the roll dough was chewy and the taste was also not upto the mark. Same goes for the Fresh Lime Soda.

But the Butter Naan and Chicken Chaap was too good and yummy, this was our second visit at Nizam’s. So I would recommend if you want to try then go for their Special Mutton Biriyani, Chicken Chaap, Butter Naan and Phirni.

The biriyani was good. But the mutton tikiya was served with a hair. When complained the staff changed the plate and gave us a new one but that was worst. It was stale with a awkward taste and texture. So we complained again and they didn't charged us for the mutton tikiya. Overall experience was not good at all

Excellent restaurant. One of most oldest restaurants in Kolkata city. Very good place for family friends and couples. Food is also good. Food delivery service is also good. Food prices are moderate. It is located near Esplanade metro station, opposite of KOLKATA MUNICIPAL CORPORATION Office. Overall it's budget friendly restaurant in Kolkata. Please visit and enjoy your meal.

Nothing special as the name suggests. Regular Mughal food you get elsewhere. Nothing special
