So I had two items of Rosogolla and honestly speaking I did not like them at all. Some off smell was coming out of them as if it was not fresh. This is my personal opinion based on the smell and taste.
13 सितंबर 2023 13:39
Absolutely not worthy. 32 rupees for one Rosogolla. Which is more or less tasteless and stale. Not recommended. Over priced.

Just ruining the name of their ancestors. I bought a jolvora, which costs rs 40, but it was just a plain raw sandesh! There was no syrup in it! When I asked about it, they said, the syrup was dried because of AC! Like seriously! And the rasogolla was below average.

After seeing all the other people's review I dont know what good is there in that sweets. We have brought Rosogolla of 15/-. The size of the rosogolla is like a 5/- rosogolla and the flavour is the worst. We brought rajbhog 32/- pc. The flavour of the sweet is like a 2 days old sweets.

Pathetic place to spend money.believe me guyz, 1st of all the seets are not at all fresh and charging a whopping amount - just for the name does not add any kind of value

I brought sweets with high hopes but even a normal roadside shop can make much better sweets. The price are too too too much and the sweets tastes like hail. And moreover they cheated me by giving less number of sweets. I don't know how a shop can sell such sweets in the name of the father of Rosogolla which is a great shame for us. I think the shop owners should be ashamed of themselves.

It's a small shop. First day I bought rosogolla from there. But it was very bad. Next day when I went there and complained the same, they apologised for the same and again gave me rosogolla. That time it was good. I am really impressed about their behaviour & hospitality. They maintain the hygiene.
28 मार्च 2023 14:53
We tried chanar toast and Nobobarshika. Chanar toast was just okay maybe I don't like little hard sweet maybe for that but Nobobarshika was just delicious. Every bite was lovely
11 दिसंबर 2022 5:10
Exorbitant price with a very average quality sweets (e.g. 8 small sized sweets cost 300). Only good thing is location of the shop.
I suggest you not go there unless feel pressured.
21 नवंबर 2022 14:39
Worst experience ever when I ask can I sit record a video then ignore me and also all sweet price is high then regular
18 नवंबर 2022 8:29
I did not have the option of giving zero. So had to give 1. Cost of sweets exorbitantly high. Taste not very different from those of any ordinary shop. The most astonishing part is charged Rs 4 for a low quality tissue carry bag. May be due to the brand name they are looting customers.
10 नवंबर 2022 20:06
Yesterday (17.9.2022) I bought some sweets from this shop but all were disgusting with too much bad taste, those were not fresh. I will never go this shop anymore. No one should go there because they are taking too much money from customer but selling totally rotten sweets.
25 अक्टूबर 2022 23:44
Not much impressed with this sweet shop. All packed sweets have K C Das branding, even the shopkeeper and worker was also wearing K C Das dress and cap.
Before this shop I went to K C Das so I got it that branding, dress and cap are from K C Das.
I felt that I wasted my time going to the Nobin Chandra Das sweet shop.
The sweets were ok and the same taste which K C Das has.

It's a good destination for Sweet lovers. You can taste Rosogolla, Keshar Rosogolla, Gulab jamun, Peshwari, Nikhuti, Noboborshika, Jalbhara, Channar Toast, Butter Scotch Sandesh, Golapbhog and many more delicious sweets. Price is comparitively reasonable. Tried Rosogolla and Gulab Jamun. Taste is really good. Staffs are maintaining hygiene. Seating arrangements are not there. UPI payment is accepted here.

Famous Sweets from one of the
authentic shop
. "Nobin Chandra Sen"

The famous sweet shop "Nobin Chandra Das"
This shop is located at North of Kolkata on Jatindra
Mohan Avenue and just before the takeoff point of
Bhupen Bose Avenue. If one intends to come to this
famous confectionary may catch metro rail - reach
Sovabazar Metro Station and from there it is about a
400 metre walk. Many public conveyances/ taxis are
available from Esplanade / Shyambazar. From Howrah
one may avail of ferry service, cross Ganga, to
Bagbazar Launch Ghat and therefrom it is less than 20
minutes walk.
It was so exciting to find such high class sweet shop
near at hand, we did not think twice - entered the shop
and started with big size "Rosogolla" followed by
"Sandesh" & just to change sweet mouth one "Singara"
(Samosa) and then again took "Malpoa" and finished
with "Rosogolla"
No, there was no ill effect
afterwards. Costs were reasonable also.

Late Nobin Chandra Das was inventor of famous "Rosogolla" and that is why he was also known as "Columbus of Rosogolla". His son Late K C Das expanded the confectionary to a great height.

Everybody knows that sweets of West Bengal are famous and if anybody want to taste good sweets may reach "Nobin Chandra Sen". There is no seating arrangement and one has to eat sweets standing in the airconditioned shop or take the parcel to home or elsewhere.

Whatever is the legacy, the taste is not at all good. Instead try balaram mullick in bhowanipura.

The Inventor of Rasogolla (Sweet), and the taste is awesome, even cannot feel it's taste untill you try.you can reach there by Metro Shobha Bazar Shutanuti, by Train Shobha Bazar Ahiritola and Bus.

Rasgolla was so hard that I literally had to break them into pieces with the wooden spoon. It spoiled my taste buds.same with Kalojam.will never eat again
18 मई 2022 16:45
They might have invented the rasagulla but their product cannot live up to the hype. Doesn't taste good.
03 मार्च 2022 10:33
The taste of the sweets is worse than any local sweet shop and the sweets are stale and has preservatives. The price is extraordinarily high. Don't waste your time and money here.
18 जनवरी 2022 13:11
DON'T GO TO THIS STORE. THE SWEETS HAVE A TASTE OF CHEMICAL AND VERY EXPENSIVE.

WORST SWEETSHOP IN KOLKATA
08 जनवरी 2022 2:13
Just moved to Kolkata and have been going around the city to know the city better not only about its culinary habits but more so about the famed Bengali sweets. Heard about a famous sweet shop by the name of Nobin Chandra Das located at 77, Jatindra Avenue, Kolkata. The entrance was dirty. The shop was crowded and the single person manning the counter was unable to handle things smoothly. Becoz of Puja maybe staff were on leave but one had to wait to get their attention. Management has to be better. Tried a few sweets and of course the famous Rosogolla for which the shop is known for as having invented the Rosogolla. But believe me the so called famous Rosogolla is just a hype. It is no better than a sponge ball which one has to chew through. The other sweets like Aam Pasand, Jalbhara, Champakali, Abarkhabo, etc are way below expections of what I had percieved before venturing out to taste the famous Bengali sweets. I would not rate the sweet shop as very high but just average. Not anything out of the world types. I guess maybe the quality has gone down over the period of time as I'm tasting the sweets at this shop for the first time but the sweets are not savoury. Just try on your own risk. Better options for sweets are there in the city of Joy. Thus proves that only name does not stand the test of time if one can't maintain the quality.

Ordered sweets from nobin Chandra das & sons.
Love the taste and authentic bengali sandesh.
04 दिसंबर 2021 4:50
One of the oldest sweet shop in kolkata.traditional Rosogolla is available.quality of sweets is fantastic.but costly
21 नवंबर 2021 21:25
Makers of Rosogolla.what more explanation is needed? Undoubtedly the best. Tho the selection of sweets is less. But still this is a place where you should Saviour the delicious sponge textured Rosogolla. Also I'll recommend to try the Kalojam they serve. This shop works in association with KC DAS.

Nobin Chandra Das: The man who made the rasgulla, also known as "Columbus of the Rossogolla" He has been famous since 1868 - when he invented the rasgulla in his shop on Chitpur Road (today called Rabindra Sarani).
21 जून 2021 4:34
Nothing to say about Nabin Chandra Das sweets. You can't stop eating after taking one. The sweets are fresh and soft. The average size of sweets are big. The price is high compare to other sweets center but the quality wise price is good. You can take sweets for any occasions.
25 अप्रैल 2021 21:09
Sweets were really delicious. The varities were mind-boggling. I personally tried misti dahi and special kalakand.
16 अप्रैल 2021 9:24
Nobin Chandra das, the founder of the bangali traditional sweet of rosogollas, is the shop motive. 18 ruppees for a small rosogolla seems to much for some. But the quality, taste, and nostalgia is priceless. Along the road, within a few meters, Nabin Chandras statue is found on a corner.

Other delicacies include rosomalai, lobongo lotika, kachauri, lengcha, diabetic rasogulla.
17 मार्च 2021 23:14
Nobin Chandra Das is the inventor of rosogolla. K C Das is his successor. At present K C Das is currently the management of Nobin Chandra Das also. Unfortunately it is very disheartening to see that K C Das has not maintained and segregation between the two shops. There are hardly any sweets available, unnecessarily costly. Dirty shop, no one is bothered to promote the original sweets made by the inventor. They are using the covers and boxes of K C Das and even promoting their products. If the management is so reluctant to maintain the heritage of this shop then they should close it down.
10 मार्च 2021 17:53
A memorable love story fabricates behind this shop's name.
Nabin Chanda Das was the inventor of Rasogolla.
31 जनवरी 2021 5:27
Now mostly deserted but they maintained the quality. The famous rasgolla is invented by them, and they really have a lot of variety of those. But I liked the rasmalai more than rasgolla.
16 नवंबर 2020 6:33
The legacy and reputation associated with the shop has been lost in recent years. Located just beside jagat mukherjee park, this small shop has lost his past glory. The quality of sweets are not good. The prices are extremely high comparing the quality.
11 नवंबर 2020 9:19
I visited there with lots of expectations end up with worst reality. Local small sweet shop rasgulla is much much more better than this. Rasgulla is like less chena more maida. After eating it feels like chewing gum inside my mouth. I never eat such worst rasgulla and the small size rasgulla price is 23/- per piece. I feel like cheated. Never visit the shop only after hearing the name Nabin Chandra Das.
30 मार्च 2020 5:42
Good bhv but not tasteworthy misti. I have tried all of the sweet from that store in a single visit but no such extra charm has found there. My local sweet shop has more taste than them.
07 मार्च 2020 21:04
Inventor of rasogolla, the iconic sweet of Bengal. Symbol of rich heritage of Bengal. The price of products is high to some extent. The location is very good and well communicated. Just near to shovabazar metro rail station. A must visit in Kolkata. Just have a bite of rasogolla and feel sweet romance!
07 फरवरी 2020 8:00
Only this one is kept as the name of the owner nabin chanda das, other branches are named as k.c das. Rosogollas are amazing undoubtedly. But the price is higher.
04 फरवरी 2020 18:03
Didn't like it at all. The sweets are no where near the movies has described. My nephew wanted to go there and we traveled for one hour and wasted 300 rupees to get there only to get utterly disappointed. Don't waste your valuable time and money there.
25 जनवरी 2020 16:05
Ok. It's KC Das only.
Only one employee handling customers.
Not a crowded place. So stock is very minimal.
07 जनवरी 2020 14:48
Items are pricey with limited variety. Not value for money & items are overpriced as compared to the size of the product. Rasogolla available in Chittaranjan are better than what they are offering in same price range. Hygiene and cleanliness are not up to the mark.
21 नवंबर 2019 13:22
They Are Not Maintain The Quality Of Sweet Items And Price Is Too Much Than It's Quality. Shop Is Too Small, Owner And Staff Behavior Is Worthless. That Shop Selling Its Sweet's By It's Name, Nothing Else.
04 नवंबर 2019 1:42
I walked two kilometers in the rain just to eat A sweet from this shop, but there was a small Rosogolla costing fifteen rupees, which is quite ordinary in taste. That old tradition is no more, everything has changed, the behaviour also not good. Very much Disappointed.
28 अक्टूबर 2019 12:11
Behaviour is vry vry poor.sweets r nt so good. 1 pcs sml rosogolla is 11 rs.tht is vry high price.
23 सितंबर 2019 13:15
I visited this place with my family directly after watching the movie rossogula. Though the shop is small it is very well kept. The original shop of Nobin Chandra Das was sold off and this is the new shop. Staff is very good. There are tables arranged if u want to sit and eat. The sweets are very tasty and is definitely a must try and pricing is also not that high. Highly recommended from me.
