North Star Hotel

Very convenient location on Mall Road. The staff and manager are very friendly. Rooms are spacious and from the view rooms you can see the Kanchanjanga range. Was happy we chose North Star for our stay.

The rooms and their services are just fine. No complaints about that. The only problem is with their wi-fi. It is really slow, sometimes even don't get any connectivity.

Overall a good experience. Location is nearer to the mall road; just 5-10 min walking distance. Staff behaviour and room service was excellent. Food quality and test were also good. The view rooms are way better than the non-view rooms (road side). The following photo was taken from room number 402.

I came from Digha to Darjeeling for traveling purpose with my parents. We spend 4 nights in this hotel. The room was very nice and the behavior of the staffs extremely good. Food was very delicious. The manager of this hotel Hari Yadav is sober, gentle and quiet friendly. This hotel is situated nearby Darjeeling Mall. We enjoyed here in outstanding mood.

We stay in this hotel for 3 nights in Deluxe Room (Mountain View) We fully enjoyed our stay Staff is very Cooperative and Polite specially Manager Mr Hari Yadav who cares for you all needs. I strongly recommend if you are in Darjeeling you must stay in this Budget Hotel cut short Paisa Vassol.

Undoubtedly one of the best hotels to stay in Darjeeling, be it’s location or service even their food. Everything is top notch. Seamless Wifi, stones throw distance from Kev’s. 5-7 mins walk to the Mall road. If the weather is good, you can sip your morning tea, gazing at the mighty Himalayas.
Large spacious rooms with modern amenities. The bathroom is clean and has hot water throughout the day which is really rare even in 4 or 5 star hotels of Darjeeling. The lights and ambience of the room were good. Bedsheets were clean and sanitized.

Situated at the heart of Darjeeling the hotel is surrounded by shops and local vendors offering food, clothes etc.which makes the ambience good. Glenary's and keventers are one of the Restaurants situated at a walking distance from the hotel and in spite of being a hill station this place is open till at least 10: 00 pm during Summers.

Biggest plus point is the price it's not exorbitant rather reasonable considering the service they provide. They even provide free drinking water from an aqua guard which saves a lot of money.

Cleaning the room everyday, always responds to the problems we addressed even if you called them multiple times they never hesitated to help us. We stayed 4 nights here, we can proudly say that what we experienced here, is worth every penny.
Special mention for the manager of this restaurant, great support and an amazing person, he is so sweet and nice and has a great sense of humour.

You could able to see Kanchenjunga from your window. But that is not the usp of this hotel. Main highlighting point of this hotel is they maintained the property very well. Room is very neat and clean. Hospitality was awesome. Mr Hari Yadav who is the owner of this hotel stays there only. So you can reach out to them at any time. Very polite and we'll behaved person and also very helpful in nature. All the staff are extremely well behaved and always ready to help you with smiley face specially I would name Mr Arif for that. I am a traveller from Bangladesh. We stayed in this hotel twice. Hotel location is very good. You can go to mall road or Chawk Bazar easily from this hotel. The manager Mr. Hari is such a nice and cooperative person. Food was also good but a bit costly. Room service was fantastic and geyser was working properly. This hotel can be a good choice while traveling Darjeeling.

I don't know about other hotels, but this hotel is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in darjeeling. Staff behavior, room service and specially behaviour of manager is very good.
We forget our umbrella in the hotel room which we purchased from darjeeling and went to gangtok. Then we called the manager and informed him about the umbrella and manager handed over the umbrella to us at siliguri station through their driver.
I don't know about others but North Star is very good.

Hotel is good, all interior and rooms but there were garbage thrown just in front of the main entrance. It's disgusting.

Could've given 5 star but the hotel is a bit down from the mall road and you might have to walk which may cause trubble (if you are not habitual of walking). Rooms are very old but their services and the staff are very helpful and well mannered. Yadav ji, lady in the reception and other staffs are very nice but they don't have a lift of anything you've to use stairs which was sometimes irritating.
Overall enjoyed the stay.

Had a great stay, location was perfect, hotel staff behavior superb, provided rooms with great view of the hills. No complaints at all. Only the food was a bit expensive. In Buffet for dinner, the number and the quality of items can be improved at the price they charged.

Rooms were good, behaviour of Yadav ji is a big plus for the hotel. Food is just okay we ordered soup which we had to cancel due to weird taste. No follow up by anyone on why soup was not good as hotel staff was too busy, they just cancelled the entire order. View from the room was excellent. You can enjoy a short stay in the hotel.

This place has a good service, good rooms and great staff. We happened to meet some really good people because we decided to stay here. The manager is a courteous person who is happy to help at all times (he also happened to help us a few days after we had checked out). This place may not have a great view or a pricey location but if you wish to have peace of mind and be surrounded by good and trustworthy people while you enjoy your vacation this is definitely a go to place. I personally loved it.

Just an amazing place. Unique Restaurant. Baalkani view is wonderful and also a wide range of taste. Love this place.

Honest Review: clean room but no one aunty coming for clean, you have to call 1 or 2 times for room service, the hotel doesn't have a parking area, very less room is same like goibibo and MMT pictures on the internet, because some of are only one lamp not well maintained, no balcony, small mirror, crt tv, no slippers, no towel, no toilet paper, no soap, no instant coffee powder and milk, no electric kettle, no fan, no room heater (extra charge) xD. Well got 24 hrs geyser, clean Bathroom, very crowdy place until 6 pm, extra blanket in cupboards, they provide hot drinking water, good room service with 5 rupees charge each time, Manager behaviour very good and very kind, only 1st staff very angry always, 2nd staff very polite, others are good, but every on very helpful and hardworking.food is very good at price, not so expensive only disappointed about no launch or thali pack, need to buy everything separately. Hotel in a crowdy place. Difficult to find location at first. Food is!
Staff is not polite. They are getting lot of customers.therefore "We dont mind"type.just ok for a short stay. But you will get kanjanjanga view from Terrace.

It was nice and the view from the hotel was so so beautiful ️ absolutely lovely. If I go to Darjeeling again I will sure visit this hotel again.

The behaviour of the Manger and the stuffs were very good. The food they cooked and the price they took for room were very decent and commendable. Well the mall is little away, if you are not habituated walking in mountain road, it can be little troublesome. But okay. All things we can't get together.

We stayed in this hotel from 31st March to 4th April. We took one double bed and one four bed both Mountain view rooms. The hotel was very near to the mall road. It takes only 5 mins to reach the mall road through a short cut though it was very steep and not advisable for elderly persons. Otherwise you can just walk for approximately 160m and get share can to reach mall road in 2 mins. The rooms were well maintained. Clean toilet. Everyday housekeeping with proper sanitisation. Food quality was good and tasty. The best part was the room service. Very polite staffs, ready to address your needs at any point of time. This place is excellent for both family and couples to stay. Special thanks to the manager Mr. Hariprasad Yadav ji. We booked the rooms directly through him. We called him so many times before reaching the hotel and he addressed all our concerns with utmost patience.

This is a budget hotel located near Chowk Bazaar and also not far from Chowrasta Mall ground. Rooms are well maintained and on a clear day you can get a beautiful glimpse of snow covered Kanchenjunga from the room itself. Waiters and staff are very helpful. There is a restaurant in ground floor and food is very delicious as well.

I stayed two nights in this hotel with my family.
Location is OK, bit crowded. Food is good. Kangchenjunga view is three, if you get a room on that side.
House keeping is below average. They don't provide kettle in the room. Management and staffs are bit arrogant. No and the thermal flask they provided was just a steel bottle.
Bedsheets were stained and torn. Bathroom slippers were dirty.
They were keeping the windows open to make the room super chill, so that we hire their blowers.

5-10 minutes walking from kaventers.room was good, but our window was broken partially. So we had a little bit problem coz we went here in december ending 2019, when the temp was 2-4 degree at night. They provide buffet breakfast, which content alu paratha/ chole bature, 2 ttypes sandwitches and one egg item (boil or bhurji). They server buffet dinner also, but not daily. Anyways foos is good.

I booked toytrain ticket via this hotel manager, i think he took advantage for that. 200 rupees per ticket. This hotel is not modern, equipped with traditional things, not spacious. I recommend this hotel, whose budget is moderate.

A small affordable hotel in the midst of the market/town. Rooms a re nice and cozy. The room towards the mountain views are the one to opt for. The make is pretty old but test then it's a cute place to stay at. The major highlight is food.specifically "the aaloo ka prantha". Rest as we went at the time when there few chefs were out we were not able to get any personal orders but one can eat the buffet or youn can order from outside as well. Youn can see the entire lower market from the mountain side view rooms and K2 as well.

Good spacious rooms, it falls near the market. Food is little commercial very oily and masala filled. Rest all is fine.

This is very good hotel, thanks to Ibibo to provide me this hotel, the staffs are very much helpful and courteous. Rooms were cleaned, ambiance was good. They provided me a mountain view room that was very nice. The food also good and served hot. Mal and markets are walking distance from here. Only the travel desk is not accepting cards and no lift facilities was there.

Average Hotel not so good. Door lock is damage rooms are not so clean. Bathroom is okay. Before Brakefast and dinner plates are self put in the bucket. Take glass of water your self. I really hated this place because hotel service and staff was not good. Our hotel room was also very untidy and full of bad odour. Washroom was also very unhygienic. Somehow is manage to stay there for one night.

Hotel view is awesome. Also their buffet breakfast and dinner is one of the best. Staff behavior is too good and well mannered. I have attached photos of some of them. Service is also quick and cool. Bangladeshi people could stay this hotel without problems. Another advantage is Muslim restaurant is also very near of this hotel who wants halal foods.

Had a stay at North star at first week of January. First thing that comes to mind about hotel North star is the delicious food. We were a college group of 70 people and the food arrangements made were spectacular. Wholesome and quality food with variety of dishes, be it the breakfast, lunch or dinner. Whole group loved the food, rooms and service. Looking forward to stay again in future.
