The canteen is monitored by the students of IISER Kolkata and you have the privilege to choose food from a broad menu and the menu can be changed on the recommendation of students.
The charges of the food are discounted for the students of IISER Kolkata.
It is the best canteen I have been to, in comparison to any hostel canteens.
There definitely are some issues but students try their best to resolve them at the earliest.
You can also order for party meals by sending an email request to the mess manager and smc committee.

Best student canteen in India. Food quality & variety are just amazing. With a special item for each time food.
But, only one issue is the queues are really long. The number of food serving counters should be increased and especially an online food selecting system should be introduced.
