Oudh 1590

Looking forward not to visit Oudh 1590 ever again. Their Quality has detoriated a lot from where it was a couple of years ago.
This is not because of Durga Puja. I ordered 1 month ago also and at that time also the same problems i faced with quantity and quality. Yesterday I ordered Tandoori roti which was normal roti as per the staff and we were amazed by this. The mutton rogan josh was degraded. The chicken awadhi biriyani was much worse than a 90 bucks biriyani available at the streets.

Very bad behaviour by each and every worker.
And food quality and quantity is also very poor.

Never ever go on any occasion.one of the worst experience I had.first of all no taste of food.secondly no option of washing your hands they r sending to do the bathroom for washing which is smelling do bad not at all hygiene maintained i felt like vomitting.nd thirdly they become dacoits in the puja or any occasion.worst worst worst.

Food quantity and quality is the worst. It is very less even for special biriyani. And behavior is even the worst. We found hair in our biriyani and they didn't even apologize for it and blamed on us. It's so shameful that a renowned restaurant but doesn't know how to behave w their customers properly.

The most authentic and genuine Mughlai Food outside North India. Each and every item is superior cooked and served with care by some excellent staff. Must try Galouti Kebabs, Ulte Tawa paratha, Raan Biryani and Phirni.

This place never fails to deliver. Went there with my parents for my mom's birthday. The food was top notch. Though the prices are quite high now. I hope they do moderate the price a bit

Food is good and tasty. But they take a long time to serve food. Ambience is nice. Decorating is beautiful. Varieties of food is there to match your choice. Only drawback is that, water was dripping from AC machines. They need immediate maintenance.

I “wanted” to visit this place for lunch. I went there and tried to park in front of the restro. BUT the “intelligent” guard came and said i cant park there as people park there bikes. I agree bikes need to be parked. But it can be parked any small place or in the footpath. A car cant. There was no other place to park and at the end we had to leave and go to a different restro. So please teach your person in the gate for helping the car owners to park rather than saying it to park in front of a building’s gate.

Food with bad/ foul smell was provided. My 6 year old daughter consumed and had vomitted. She could not sleep. My wife had stomach indigestion and am having heartburn issues after consuming some of it. And yes it was consumed within 10 minutes of delivery.
I am inclined to take legal action.

It's one of the most beautiful restaurants in South Kolkata. Situated in the vicinity of the Southern avenue, the restaurant boasts of ample parking space and a great outside looks to go with the inside. The restaurant has a Lucknowyi nabab dynasty themed interior design and whoever is behind the idea should get an extra credit for it and it sits amazingly well with the name of the restaurant.
Coming to food, the items are a bit expensive but the taste will amaze you even on the worst of the days. And the biriyani.it's just out of the world. The flavours simply seem like dripping out of every bite you take of the biriyani. The kebabs are fantastic as well. And to the food lovers out there, the mutton dishes are better than the chicken dishes here.
Overall if you're looking for a savoury lunch on a weekend, I'd highly recommend Oudh 1590. It's a must try!

Biriani is ok but Too much over priced specialy in chicken and mutton items, price average RS 500 for 4 small piece of those.
They charged Rs 55 (gst extra) for water bottle which is printed Rs 20 MRP, and no hand wash basin also

One of the best period dining restaurants of kolkata serving awadhi cuisine. Must try their galouti kebabs with ulta tawa paratha, kolkata style mutton biriyani, awadhi style biriyani, chicken rezala. Great ambience and very good hosts.overall a great experience of dining in kol coming from blore.

This is a period themed restaurant. The ambience is really good. It feels like you have entered a place which is ancient. The food is again really awesome. I have had the best biriyani in Kolkata here. Overall this is a really good restaurant. Highly recommended.

Visited the place yesterday. Galouti Kebab & Porota was awesome. Also liked rumali roti and mutton rogan josh. Tried Raan Biriyani and Moti Biriyani. But general feedback was it was not that much exciting.

Quality vise it's obviously good. But all the food items wasn't available. The management is nice. And they don't have veg items that much. It is the place for non veg special.

Great place to have family dinner or with friends or to take your better halfs, Gaulti and Mutton briyani are a must try along with there rayata absolutely mouth watering, I guarantee you will have more to eat than you intend to. Must visit in Kolkata

The three stars r for the décor and the hospitality and the two stars for the food. I don't remember visiting any restaurant lately or ever in my life which has so much of décor which could take me to the era for which they get decorated. I was totally immersed in the aura.the music too has been a wonderful addon to the overall ambience.it does keep up to its name.and expectation.the food, however, is good on taste, but the galawti kebab for which they boast themselves, is on an average scale.i had better galwtis in many places in the city and out.the price is justified for the quantity that they serve.its quite a portion, so do check with them before u order a bulk.but well.worth a visit.u will love it.an ideal spot to spend some quality time.

Biriyani was so dry and the chicken in the biriyani was so hard that it had to be consumed after dipping in raita.
For one time visit, its good but definitely there are way more better restaurants where one can get better food at this price.

It's one of the best place to provide biriyani in Kolkata. Please try their special Rann biriyani. It's flavourful and yummilaceous. Also go for galauti kebab with parathas

Worst experience ever. Food was overcharged but the taste was worst. Although ambience was decent actually quite royal but the food quality was not upto the mark as compared to the price.

Awesome food. Slight expensive but worth of quality. No doubt the best mutton dishes are served here.

Great ambiance. You will love the dishes. Best for a group party or lunch or dinner. Not a place for romantic dinner. It remains crowded in the pujas so plan accordingly

The vibe seems a bit gloomy here considering the ambiance and theme is that of the Mughal age, but food is really good.
They serve one of the best biryani in Kolkata.

That 2 star you get for ambience only. The biryani, neither brings authentic taste (tasting biryanis in 7 states and 150+ birayni houses), nor it justifies that price tagged. Upselling water bottles, or not serving basic nits are not okay for a themed resturant.

Most ambient and aesthetically pleasing restaurant to visit with friends, family or date. Their cooking style and aromatic assortment of food sets them apart. The most amazing Biriyani in town.

The galouti kebab that I had ordered from Oudh 1590 was all broken. I have posted the picture as well.please don't package food like this as you are taking a good amount of money for the same.

Nice place with good food. Only problem was the staff. A person from their staff was talking out really loudly which dulled the ambience.

Lucknowi parantha and galoti kebab of Oudh is a killer combination. Definitely a must try. We ordered Raan biriyani after that. Equally tasty and quantity is more than sufficient for two. Well behaved staff and manager. Overall great experience. Just put a brighter light in toilet. I mean I know that the light used in washroom is in sync with the theme of the restaurant and that looks great. However a brighter light is needed, otherwise it is difficult to see, hand dryer was not working. Please take care of these two as this place amd the food is my absolute favourite. ️

Oudh has gradually deteriorated, and it has deteriorated massively. It also has an adamant staff that loves playing the blame game in front of customers. The special Oudh Raan Biryani now has a small portion of diced and sour mutton cubes in a matka with poorly prepared rice. I ordered food at home and the delivery was fast. But as soon as I put the food on the plate, the rice and meat, both went cold. The food is not prepared fresh. When I called the restuarant to tell them, the manager swore that it is fresh. Then he went to the kitchen, and yelled in Bengali, "Either heat up the food well before sending or talk to the customer yourself and tell him why the food is cold. " This statement of his proves that it was not fresh! Cancelled the replaced order immediately. And by the way, this was on the occassion of Eid amidst a pandemic.

Awesome ambience & outlook! Handi biryani is a must try. The taste was just 1st class behaviour of the staffs was also good. Overall.worth eating

Maha bakwaas.the interior is superb! Refresh everything is below average. Price is sky touching, with food quality horrible! Even quantity won't suffice a single person. Service is horrible! They are busy in themselves. Never will visit this place again!

One very good biriyani stop nowadays. The ambiance would give you a feel of Vintage mughal time. If you go there, at least once try their washroom at night, the dim light and falling music speak for itself.
Oh yes their Raan Biriyani is a must try, a bit pricey but serves two sufficiently.

For the first ordered food. We had mutton & chicken Rezala, Palak, Alu dum etc, Never tasted Rezala so horrible & bad anywhere before. The taste was like a sour ' Chutny'. We didn’t eat. The Palak too was like a bowl of pudding absolutely bland with no flavour or taste. Horrible experience. Will never try again.

Service has gone down. Food quality and taste is very average and price is getting higher and higher everyday. Not a go to place anymore.

While the food was way above average on normal days, our recent treat during the durga puja was awful. The festive season cannot be a justification for poor service when the pocket pinch remains just the same. One feels so betrayed, so let down. We had trusted you with our special day.

Over crowded without any reason.table distances are very close to each other.only gulawati kebab is good to taste nothing else.

This place needs no introduction and I feel needs no review too. But still.we went for Sunday lunch, had jhinga biryani, chicken biryani.rumali roti and awadhi chicken zafrani. The biryani is just sumptuous.perfect mix of spices. Must visit with family, friends or your sweetheart

Lucknowi Paratha and Mutton were very tasty; However Awadhi Chicken Biriyani did not live up to its hype. Biriyani was pretty dry.

The Ambience and the staff is good though and the Begum Akhtar Gazal in the background just adds to the charm.

Ambience is great. Service is top. Food quality I expected little better, but afcourse others may have different taste buds. I ordered one kabab and tandoori chiken which was good in main course I ordered biriyani with one side dish. Biriyani chiken prices was very small and chiken was little dry from inside, it lost its juicy ness, so I did not liked it much. May be some problem with cooking procedure.

All that glitters is not gold.so don't just go about the big names. Food ok ok type.paratha and kebabs were excellent.overall a 3 star rated place

Beautiful ambience, with ancient, royal music playing in the background making you feel no less than royalty itself. Friendly staff and amazing food! Must go!

I was going Oudh last thursday at deshopriyo park and i am very disappointed as the food quality is very bad.

The first thing that you think when hear the word Awadh is Nawabs, Kebabs and Biryani. We went to this place on a Sunday afternoon and had a waiting time of 15 mins or so which tells a lot about the popularity of the place. We ordered Galouti kebabs, lucknowi paratha, chicken dum biryani and shahi tukda. Service didn't take much time which is good and bad at the same time. Bad because it means that food is pre-cooked and just sitting in the kitchen ready to be served. The kebabs were very good and did justice to us visiting this place until we had the biryani. Chicken Biryani was a little cold, the rice and the chicken had definitely NOT been cooked together as rice missed the flavour of dum, the rice was dry and the chicken was a little difficult to chew- not done with a biryani. Now, how can a place named Oudh 1590 do so much of injustice to biryani. Overall an OK ok experience. But I would Not recommend the biryani.

The food is lipsmaking. There is no doubt about it. It serves authentic awadhi cuisine to the peak of perfection. So, a 5 star for the food.

But, I would deduct one star for the staff behaviour. The reason is that after finishing up our starters it is very obvious on the restaurant's part to change the plate and cutleries. But the waiter was hesitant to do that and changed only the plates, not the cutleries. We had to hold the cutleries in our hand while he gave a new plate. This is something completely unaccepted. I would visit oudh again for the food, but definitely not this outlet, but the others.

Certainly not pocket friendly, yet an amazing place, if not the best to have Biriyani in the city. The rich smell of cottage butter is gonna hit your nostrils for sure. The biriyani here is certainly worth remembering. The décor, the ambience, the utensils in which they serve food, and Begum Akhtar playing in the background certainly makes you feel like a Nawab time traveling to the 16th century. Over and out, if you are a Biriyani lover, this is the place you hit once in a while. Happy foodgasm.

It was a friend's birthday treat and we decided to go for this place as it is pretty famous for this muglai food
It takes hardly 10 mins from Lake Town foot bridge
If you are new to the salt lake side it might be a bit confusing
This place was crowned even on a weekday so we had to wait for some 20mins
But the staffs were pretty cooperative with us and we had ordered for a lot of food but the bill was totally reasonable
We had ordered for some 5 or 6 plates mutton Biryani
Murg Biryani
A chicken gravy
Tandoori roti
And paneer masala
(sorry I don't remember the exact names)
But trust me this place has the best Muglai food

On the occasion of Diwali we visited Oudh, sector 1 outlet. It was walking distance from City centre1, or one can take rickshaw/auto from the CC1 island. The restaurant was packed at 2pm and we had to wait about 45 mins to get the table. The vibe inside the restaurant was good. The receptionist (on that day) was really good at his job, serving as well as managing the guests but I felt like the service of the staffs could have been better, I'm not complaining though.

The decor was good - mughal type wooden interiors with beautiful dim lighting.
But man the menucard was the heaviest (about 1 kilos) I've seen in my entire life

Coming to the food part, we ordered Raan biryani, Mutton galauti kebabs, Mutton brain masala, Bhuna gosht and Firni for desert.

The kebabs were served first. I liked how the mutton paste melted in my mouth. That's it, it was nothing extraordinary, rather dry.
The quantity of the biryani was enough for two people. Biryani was aromatic and the mutton were boiled and cooked perfectly (not chewy), but again tasted very average.
You can get much better mutton brain masala (a personal favorite of mine) in Peter cat than Oudh. It was lacking salt though.
Again the bhuna ghost was soft, spicy and really average, also it was not served hot.
The only thing we liked was the firni and it was one of the best firnis you can eat in Kolkata.

All these Costed us 1400+ for two including gst.

To be honest the hype was all toned down by everything: mainly the food which was just very average, the decor and the service by staff. I felt the restuarant needs improvement in every section.
My friends told a lot about this restuarant and the reviews in zomato are good, But we had a different experience. Hoping for a better experience next time.

Well, the experience was not what I expected, given the brand that Oudh holds. First, we were given mineral water without letting us know they were gonna charge for it. I mean, come on, I would have taken the mineral water too, but it would be courteous if they informed us beforehand. Second, the food was okay-ish. Nothing of the hype I've heard of. Third, after our meals, we had to remind them that we had also ordered desserts, which took them all of a sudden. Then somebody came and told us that the dessert we had ordered was not available. Later on reminding them that nobody told us so during placing our order, they somehow managed to get a decent dessert. Overall, not a very pleasant experience
