It took me back to the Mughal era, It's like you have travelled in the past as everything is so detailed and speckless. Now as a starter i had chicken tandoori which was good then i ordered jhinga biriyani with chicken chap. Biriyani had a lot of prawn pieces in it.with chap gravy it tasted fulfilling so i had no room for dessert.
I don't know why this place is so hyped up. Food is extremely bad. We ordered awadhi chicken biryani and either they don't know what does awadhi biryani looks and taste like or the customers are fool. Extremely bad biryani. Worst biryani I have ever had. No masala nothing. Chicken was hard. The biryani is similar to what you get in roadside at 200 rupees per kg. Kali mirch kabab was uncooked and raw. I mean this can't get more bad. Worst of food and very very highly priced.
We were near the salt lake city centre and craving biryani so we decided to walk to this place. As we entered we were impressed by the ambience and the decor. It's a dimly lit restaurant with gazals playing in the background and delivers what it promises, a period dining experience. We ordered Murg Afghani Kebab for starters and Gosht Awadhi Handi Biryani and Murg Bhuna for the main course. I loved the Murg Afghani Kebab and the biryani but the chicken side dish was quite disappointing. The Handi biryani is offered in a generous quantity and should be sufficient for three people. Overall it was a good experience.
Awesome food. I would say they have one of the best biriyanis in Kolkata. I felt it was better than Karim's, in taste as well as for the pocket. The ghazals and the chandeliers make this place beautiful. But I would prefer a bit more lit cause it almost feels too dark. Overall, it's a great place to have Mughal cuisine.
Ordered chicken special biryani, chicken bhuna, mutton rogan jos, rumali roti through zomato. 1. Foods were not fresh (basi) 2. Cold rumali roti 3. The dishes were so spicy that it tasted bitter. 4. Quantity of biriyani is very less, not enough even for a kid
Such a beautiful ambience with the awsome taste of food.the price is a little high but it is worth it.one must try their galouti kebab and run biriyani.service was good
If there is 0 rating, I would give the same. We went there for lunch from office. The biriyani was very less in quantity and the quality is very very bad like roadside 100 rupees biriyani.so it was so much overpriced and the quantity was not sufficient for one. Last the behaviour of staffs are bakwas.all were in their own attitude and were giving response arrogantly. Never will go.there are thousands of restaurants. Also suggest to all, you also please don't waste your money here.
Galaoti kabab with Ulta Paratha is an amazing combination. Loved it. A must try if you visit Oudh 1590. The Rann biriyani was tasty too with tender pieces of shredded mutton. Ended our dinner with the winter special Gajar ka halwa which tasted ok.
The tangri kabab we ordered for starter was very delicious. Quite satisfied with the aroma and taste of the blended spices. For main course, we ordered a murgh pardah handi and murgh metiabruz biriyani. Even though the rice was perfectly cooked the chicken pieces were not at all tender and juicy.
Went there for a Sunday lunch. Located about 10 mins walk from City Centre. The place is situated in the ground floor of a building. Interior beautifully decorated and gives you a feeling of the Awadh. The place is quite compact and not huge. On a Sunday afternoon we had to wait for about 10 mins to get in. Tried Starters and Biryani (Raan/Mutton, Chicken). Galaouti kabab was okay but nothing near if you compare it with the ones available in Lucknow. Qalmi kabab was okay. Raan Biryani was decent (without potatoes and eggs). Chicken Biryani wasn't the best. Overall food was okay/average, not at all exceptional. Price on the higher side when compared with quality and taste. Biryani quantity was okay, but Starters quantity on the lesser side. Staffs courteous, but when in rush you will feel they are trying their best to make customers finish their food as quickly as possible and leave. Cards and Cash accepted
I give 3.6 as rating bcus of ambiance. Food was okay okay as per me. You guys might like the taste. Food tasting is a subjective opinion. But everyone must visit once.
The decor is gr8.the food is nothing to write home about.though we just had Aam khas, Awadhi Biriyani, Mutton Nihari n Firni.not too bad but nothing brilliant either
Galauti kebab was only the saver. Biriyanai was absolutely dry but teh mutton served was not good. Liver keema was also not good. Chiken biriyani was okay.
We went at the time of durga puja.and waited for 1hr.half of the items we ordered were finished.service was very bad.the ambience inside was moderate as it was too dark for me. Not a pleasant experience.
Good ambience and covid protocols. But overcrowded restaurant kinda makes it irrelevant. Food is average. Biriyani lacks flavor. Try their kebabs instead.
The essence of Mughlai dishes are flavour fully evident in the items presented. Galawti kabab holds true to the legend of disappearing in the mouth as soon as it is put inside. Sikanji Kabab Raan mutton biriyani Followed by ever satiating dessert of firni is a must try.
As I had visited this place during Durga Puja, therefore it was very crowded that reflects it's popularity. Taste of the foods are great! However, the washroom passage was very narrow.
Expensive but the food is not up to the mark. Went on the day of Panchami. It was usually crowded. And we have to wait for an hour. But it was a pretty disappointment, when the food came to the table. The Expensive Aam khas was tasted like very ordinary aam panna flavoured drinks with jaljeera. And when the biriyani comes to the plate it was a really heartbreaking. It felt street biriyanis are better than this one. Really disappointing.
I have never tasted such worst biryani from OUDH1590, salt lake at my today's lunch. Biryani was prepared only with unsufficient mashed mutton of sour taste and ataar smell. Quantity of rice was much. There was no original saffron. Artificial saffron colour and nonproportionate some biryani spices were given to it. No other solid ingradients like egg and potato were there. I dispose it off as kitchen garbage. Should reject this most poor quality biryani from Oudh 1590 atleast during this festive season.
Nice decorations of Mughal era great ambiance. They serve very good quantity of food. Service is also very satisfactory. Only varieties of Mughlai food available with delicious desserts. It is situated on the main road diagonally opposite of Salt Lake Seba Hospital. Fully air-conditioned.
If you are looking for best in class biryani and other mughlai dishes you search should end at Oudh 1590. Moreover you will get a very good ambience with light sound and interior which will make you feel proud to be a Nawab ;).
The decor interests me always. It's nicely done. The galauti kabab and the Rann biriyani is something that you might end up loving. It's a different taste so I would say a good go.
Food quality has gone down a bit. Only two air conditioners were working in the entire restaurant and it got a bit uncomfortable since the restaurant was pretty crowded.
Could have been a way better experience if the music volume was a little low and the ACs were working.
Very good food.unfortunate for not getting Galoti Kabab.but Rann Biryani was absolutely mind blowing.overall a very good taste.worthed.lastly the ambience was awesome with a Ghazal music in the background.had a great time with family.
The ambience makes one feel like they are living the Mughal times. The Biriyani was good. The butter naan had no butter on it. The mutton of the Biriyani was tender and moist enough.
Awesome experience Great place for having briyani and awadhi cuisine. Must try galawti kabab and raan biriyani. Nice ambience and proper covid guidelines followed.
What the taste! Just awesome, whatever you order it's totally perfect to eat. Each and every dishes are awesome, perfect and too much tasty. Normally you can go for the handi biriyani, Rann biriyani is also too good. Galouti kebab, afghani kebab. Everything is just awesome. Just to feel and taste the food. Ambience and decorations are so awesome, like someone can feel the vintage and old awadhi decorations totally inside it. Thanks for the awesome dishes.
Gr8 mildly spiced, flavorful mutton Biryani. Different from the usual Kolkata fair. Chicken Irani and roti also a good combination. WL surely come back for more
My experience was awesome. Beautiful ambience. Nice place with family and friends for dining. Staffs are very nice in behaviour. The food was very good. The quantity & quality everything was excellent
I've visited this restaurant on Saraswati puja day with my friends. This restaurant has 4 branches in Kolkata. This one is really nice and very well decorated. Customer service was good and food items were absolutely amazing. We ordered the famous awadhi mutton biryani and Lahori chicken and also ordered gosht shahi korma. All items were very tasty. We have also tasted firni. This dessert item is my favourite one. Absolutely amazing place for fine dining with friends and family.
Amazing place to visit if you want to experience Mughal and Nawabi culture. Ambience was really good, food was also delicious with perfect flavour of ingredients and with a great variety of dishes. Must visit this place.
Probably the worst food that i have had till date.i had ordered mutton awadhi biryani.the meat was stinking.and the other item was murg irani.which was not upto the mark.bakwaas food.will never visit this restaurant
The biryanis are really good. Don't just come here for the Galauti kebabs (not worth the hype). They cut like butter though but you can't actually taste any meatiness of the kebabs.
