The famous. The legendary. And I was impressed. Had the Kesar Badam Rabri Malai Sharbat. Delicious will be an understatement. Right Behind College Square on Bankim Chatterjee street. This place must be in your bucket list.
People visiting college Street in a hot humid summer day must try a glass of icy chilled daab sarbat of this place to get back all your lost stamina. Many other varieties of fruit juice, milk shakes are also available at a pocket friendly price.
It is one of the oldest soft drink shops situated at the heart of North Kolkata. You can find the best drinks at a reasonable price that can keep your mind and heart fulfilled and cool. Now, coming to the Location it is just at the college Street area and is easily accessible with the Bus and the metro.
Don't go If you're not from West Bengal. The taste of the drinks which they are providing is not acceptable for outsiders, might many locals liked the taste that's the reason it's is famous or by time quality and taste is declined. Just for the amount we paid, we tried to finish the drinks that we failed lastly.
Although this place is bit congested but it make up this little drawback with pleasant service and superb quality of drinks. A must to go place if someone visits college street. Overall the experience was excellent. Dine In: Yes Takeout: Yes (Bottle Charge Extra)
Tastewise 5 star.dab sharbat is hardly ever there visited twice but dab sharbat always finished they should keep extra dab shorbot since its their most popular drink and also the place is too small so many people very overcrowded they should also acquire the shop next to it so that enough place is there for people to sit and faster service.these are the suggestions but apart from these.the shop is a heritage site for foodies all the sharbats and malai drinks are just out of this world loaded with kheer.i have precious childhood memories spent here with my parents and friends.anyways must visit if you like milk based or syrup based refreshing beverage which is quite filling
It’s one of the oldest and famous shop selling different kinds of juices from long time back. It’s located exactly behind the College Square area or the College Square Durga pujo place to be precise. You can say this is one of the most preferred place for many people who are visiting College Square or College Street area.like many other age old shops in this area paramount also serves or hold its place with glory.although with time the taste and quality of the juices and sharbaats has got downgraded to some extent. Being a person who has been accustomed to north Kolkata and coffee house area or College Street area from ages I can say the taste was far better way back to what it is now. The speciality of this place is obviously the Dab Sharbaat or Coconut Sharbaat to be honest. It’s around 80 rs price nowadays and they serve it well, it being one the most favoured drinks here. You can find many other options here as per your pocket choice. So overall it’s a nostalgia for north Kolkata people and will always remain so as visiting College Street does makes it a mandate visit for the paramount drinks or sharbaats
Extreme rude behavior from manager/casher/owner. No cooperation from there side. I would never recommend anyone there because of bad hospitality. Even on 2023 a shop residing on a youth populated location do not accepts any other mode of payment other than cash. If you provide cash beyond your bill, they refuse to even provide change for cash, There drink is filled with ice and they deny ice free drinks even after requesting. NEVER RECOMMEND.
Seems these days they have only the heritage to offer to their customer because the drinks are not up to the mark. This Kesar drink is 130/- a glass, one of their most expensive ones, and it's mostly ice and water. Also, they accept only cash payments!
Paramount - the name is enough (since 1918). So many celebs have visited this place and newspaper articles published on this place. It still has its old world charm with stuffed horns, marble table tops and raftaar. You can choose from a variety of cold drinks and shakes - from simple syrup based to malai and cream based. Quality is top-notch and prices are reasonable.
Their sherbets and juices are really awesome and the behaviour of the staffs and owner (s) is very sweet and friendly. Overall the atmosphere is very nice. Highly recommended to all sherbet and juice lovers.
Paramount is a piece of history of Kolkata. It is not only a cold drinks or syrup shop. It has historical stories behind every sip of every drink. Beside this it is also a place of adda for bengalis. From many years many famous people came here to enjoy these drinks. They are daber sarbat is the most famous drink and it has a story also behind it. Bengal chemical's founder prafulla chandra roy gave the formulla of this daber sarbat to the owner of this shop.and from then it is a piece of history in kolkata.
My favourite place for shakes and drinks. 5star drinks: Daab Sharbat (it’s not available currently) Green Mango Mania Pineapple Syrup based drink Mango Juice
I am not impressed with the restaurant. In my recent visit, I have felt that the taste and quality are being compromised to maintain the price. The famous dab sherbat has been out of stock while most of the customers are asking for the item.
Quality as well as customer service both were fantastic. Although there can be long queues time to time, especially during the festive season, I highly recommend this place.
It's an old heritage shop, situated in heart of the city, Kolkata which serves as different varieties of water based syrups and curd based juices which many visitors and tourists comes from all over the places to taste the flavor. This shop was established in 1918, almost more than 100 years in which many revolutionaries and famous peoples visited here and also there is a secret room in behind, where they used to hold meetings during the British rule. Still their owners are running quite popularly, by maintaining in a traditional way, without promoting any franchise and attracts many customers also peoples from abroad to try the mouthwatering flavor.
Located in college Street, this unique establishment has stood the test of time from 1918. Serving only Sherbats and milk and curd based drinks. This place has a lot of historical significance since it has housed customers like Netaji and Kavi Nazrul. I tried their Tamarind, Green Mango and green lemon Sherbat. It was very refreshing and flavours were spot on however the sweetness was a little overboard for my palette. I would definitely recommend you to visit the place once for its historical significance and Sherbats. It's starting price is from 60 rupees which is on the higher side for beverages but it has a dedicated sitting area just for it.
This is the 1 st time i visited paramount. Me and my friend tried Cream Lemon, Cream kashar and choco mania. Choco mania was awesome. But it was bit costly (120 rs). Cream lemon was also very good. We personally didn't thought that it will be this good. I don't like the keshar flavor so i didn't like cream keshar but my friends liked it very much. Over all taste wise it was good. Don't expect something extraordinary. The ambiance was good. And the staffs were polite. Next time I'm gonna try their infamous daab er sorbet.
This place is so overrated. Don’t know why people go there. I went by seeing the ratings. Guys the shake/sharbat are so bad like opposite of what is tasty. I suggest don’t go there and waste time and money except one of you to have experience and to support my words. Dosto kabhi kichad taste nahi kiya but lagta hai inke products se better hi hota hoga.
I visited on 31st August after reading reviews with lot of expectations, ordered 1 cream lassi and passion fruits, it was the worst thing I have ever had just I regret on my decision. I'll never visited again
We have taken Cream Lemon and Cream Vanilla. Lemon is not good to taste. It's like cheap essence. But the Vanilla was good. Each of it 60/- As per price it's good to taste. Thank you.
Trust me guys wast of money tried orange syrup which have some taste however not worth Rs 60 and the kesar Curd for 60 which is not drinkable I throw in the the bin outside.you get much better syrup and Curd below that price els where.not up to the mark
It's the most worst flavoured milk I had ever.they don't know how to make.it will be cheaper if you buy Amul cool and it is more tastier.you can also have it in your home making it yourself.waste of money.only the place is of a historical value and nothing else.
Worst. Only name shake. No good quality sarbat. You will get much much better in road side fruit juice shop. Very light and thin liquid. Waste of time.
Nothing new to say about (probably) one of the greatest sherbet shops in the whole country. Still reliable, with the same great taste at very affordable and non-extortionate prices. Wonderful all around, quaint.
Visited this place a few months ago. I tried their passion fruit drink, it tasted okay okay. I liked the vibe of the place, it is like a historical shop as many legendary people used to visit this place
Awesome place. It's a heritage place which we should relish in this city. Daab sherbaat is the most delicious sherbaat ever. Obviously in summer time it's always crowded so it's better to go before your plan. It's located at a very friendly place which is near to so many eateries in North Kolkata.
Good but too much expensive. I bought dub sarbat which was just coconut water with some soft coconut and ice and the price is 80. I think the price 50 is enough for the sarbat. Otherwise quality is good.
This place is just known for its hype but the taste of the juices is really low standard according to the price. The quality of the drinks are really bad
The best place to quench your thirst on a summer day.it's a heritage place and running since 1918. The authenticity and taste is great. Lots of variety of sherbet and drinks. The unique one is the coconut sherbet. It has a subtle taste and it will refresh your body and taste more than you can think of. Other items are also quite good and tasty. One of the old kolkata special places to visit and and must have things. Two downsides are 1. Little on the higher range considering the place and ambience and the items are costly. 2. The sherbets are always served with lots of ice and it comes chilled. But then again you can't resist the taste neither the refreshing felling of sherbet with ice on a summer day.
Had a lassi and coconut sarbat there last sunday.lassi was full of ice nd the coconut sarbat was like a little bit of coconut water with lots of ice nd a piece of malai.really disappointing.
This shop needs no introduction! The Dab Sarbat was so refreshing and perfectly sweet. Green mango syrup was like a saviour in this scorching summer. Again refreshing, chilled and perfect in taste. Dab Sarbat - 80/- Green Mango Syrup - 60/-
Great place to quench thirst.famous for Daab Sherbet, Mango Mania, Strawberry Lassi and more.this place has a historical impact too as it is the 'Favourite' of many eminent personalities. Location is nice, spacious. A must-try for all!
Paramount is pure Kolkata nostalgia. An age old shop that has catered to the taste of the city for years continues to do the same. The best thing is that their quality remains the same over the years. Everyone should check out this place.
Excellent drinks with exciting price range. The must try is their Dub Sharbat, it's actually their speciality also! You can also try different shakes out there! You'll love it!
