Nice place. I went there for a banquet hall booking, could not see any hall, as preparation for event was going on.

Nice hotel. Nice ambiance and well decorated. Rooms are nice. But very much expensive and unnecessarily expensive. Food is average. Staffs are good.

The overall ambience is undoubtedly excellent and also a great place for holding meetings or conference.

Far too expensive. Not worth at all.

Go to the Vivanta (old Gateway) near Ruby. That has better food, better service, less expensive.

I had booked Raajkutir, Raasmanch for my wedding on 27th January 2023.
Raajkutir had always been my first choice for my wedding venue because of the ambience and vibe of the place. There are so many beautiful spots for classic Bengali Wedding photographs and a vintage feel. Hence I had booked the place back in January 2022 (more than a year in advance).
We started coordinating on the menu and the event plan with Samarpita around December end 2022. She personally made us talk with the chef and arranged for a food tasting. We tried Hazelnut Cold Coffee, Gondhoraj Chicken Tikka, Fish fry with Kasundi, Fish Paturi, Chingri Malaikari, Dhonepata Kacha Lanka Murgi, Thakur Barir Kosha Mangsho, Chocolate Monte Carlo.

Each of the items tasted amazing and we ended up finalising the same for the wedding menu. Samarpita was present throughout the tasting event and was always eager for our feedback.

Now, coming to the day of the event here's what I was disappointed with. In our contract it clearly mentions we are to leave the hall after midnight. My event planner and decorators reached the venue at 3: 00 am and saw the previous day wedding was still underway. They again went to the venue at 8: 00am and all the previous day decorations plus the family members of bride and groom were still present. It was at 9: 00 am that Samarpita had to reach the venue and then she started taking care of the cleaning and decorations removal. My event planner decorators were unable to start the work before 10: 00 am.

This is in my opinion highly unprofessional. That day I didn't want to be complaining and tried to stay calm through it all. Also Samarpita tried helping me in her best possible way. But I am surprised that being a TAJ Group of hotels no one told the previous set of guests anything. My event planners later told me that if they had a little more time the decorations would have been more heavy and extravagant. They even showed my Dad all the heavy materials they carried and some they could not put up due to lack of time. When I had asked previously that can I do my "bashor raat" (staying up all night with friends and relatives which is a Bengali tradition after wedding) they denied saying that we have to leave the venue after 12am. Now why was this rule not enforced for the people who booked on 26th Jan 2023? A 4 star property like Raajkutir must have people to make sure that all guest bookings are honoured equally.

I have no complains about how the evening went. It was beautiful. Samarpita was present throughout and was making sure all food and everything was on point. Everyone appreciated the grandeur of the place and even loved the food. They kept refilling and everything was hot and tasty. The staff took care of all the guests and were very hospitable. Everyone was impressed with how beautiful and grand the venue looks.

Lastly one thing would be in a wedding ceremony we need to give food packets to some drivers/guests. Now plate count was 50 below the Guaranteed PAX yet we were not allowed any food packets. I believe this is a basic requirement in an Indian wedding and should not have been denied. The excuse given was that "food quality might get degraded". But I wonder how you all then allow food packets in the restaurants? Shouldn't the concern be the same?

All in all, the pictures and videos came beautiful, I doubt it could have been better in any other place in Kolkata.
The guests, my in-laws had no complains at all. None of them faced any issues with any staff or food. The staff were very polite and followed proper hygiene when serving them. The ambience was very very nice. The staff even served me and my husband with all the items after the wedding and kept asking us if we needed anything.
Samarpita was truly great to work with. She really calmed me down throughout the event and made sure to do her best.

The issues I faced is my complain to the TAJ management of Raajkutir. I would not want any bride to go through the same hassle on her wedding day. This review would have been a 5 star otherwise.

Beautiful ambience provding old world charm with fine antique and vintage decor. Location very convenient to go for shopping, visit places and to Airport.

I experienced excellent hospitality. Service delivered was top notch. Extremely helpful and generous staff be it in the Reception, Housekeeping, in room dining or the security. The room was impeccably clean and smelling very fresh and great. Comfy bed, literally befitting royalty.

All necessities, amenities and luxuries well taken care of. Regular calls checking on stay, well being and necessities.

Food served was super quick, tasty and surpassed expectations. Suitable recommendations were made by the staff helping me to choose the right one.

Comfortable and Clean cabs were arranged as per requirements.

Heavenly music played every morning and live singing in the evening, listened to my favourite songs both new ones and evergreen melodies, making me feel as if the songs were picked exclusively for me.

Overall, Just Loved my stay here. It was so relaxing, supremely comfortable and will be the most memorable.

I shall visit again and galdly recommend to my family, friends and colleagues as well.

First experience is not during the booking.but after that it was very smooth, all staffs are very kind and polite but Mr soumen needs to improve his attitude and behaviour. Although it is located in city, the property is very different from other traditional hotels or Taj properties inside Kolkata.

The idea is good. A very quiet location in the heart of the city. However, the room size could have been better considering it's a TAJ property.

Also, we had the buffet dinner but shockingly they didn't have Fish in the menu. Not having Fish in Kolkata is a crime in my books!

The team is very helpful tho and Room service is quick.

We had our big day at Raasmanch in Rajkutir on 7th October! Samarprita Nandi, our event manager, was absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much to ask, she is such a genuinely nice, warm person- everything went according to plan but even better. We were planning this event from overseas and Samarprita was exceptional in dealing with our queries and supporting us along the way! The Hall Rangmanch which we booked for my brother Reception party was extremely beautiful and spacious.

One of the most creative places of all times with a great mix of authenticity and nostalgia. Awesomely placed decors with a lot of friendly stuff. For Winter outings this is truly the best place for hanging out with friends or family. Lovely bar and great amenities. Must visit

There was cockroach inside the room, showed it to the house keeping staff, have video proof for the same. Its a breach of hygiene protocol. My wife forgot her wallet inside the room but no one informed the same, which is a basic formality. Breakfast was pretty much ordinary. It's not at all expected from IHCL, it's not worth of a 5 star stay.

It's a heritage hotel so it looks like a old building but lots of open space to relax.
Pool size is small but rooms are good.

It was a perfect evening at Taj Rajkutir! We loved whatever we had! The cocktails were refreshing and the food was delicious too! I wish they add more options on the menu. We were very beautifully hosted by Mr. Shankhadeep at Swig. Will visit again soon and definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to have a peaceful date.

So far this is one of the best hotel i have visited, after pendamic this was going to be my first vacation so worried about safety but the hotel was so clean for it first time in my life I didn’t felt bore at hotel cose there was some live entertainment happening at the hotel in evening, space was everything, just the beds are little high for my height staff was so polite food was amazing specially there aloo paratha in breakfast, it was an experience will definitely go back this hotel when i will visit Kolkata again,

Our wedding was held at Swabhumi Raajkutir on the 1st and 2nd of May. This property is located at one of the central and posh localities of Salt Lake city with good connectivity and makes it easier for the guests to commute. We read a lot of reviews about this place and decided to visit with my family to look around and see if this ‘THE PLACE' for our wedding. At the very first visit this boutique hotel touched my heart and I decided this is it and my search for the venue ends here. But there was a lot more to consider amidst Covid and availability. After a series of discussions with the Raajkutir employees I blocked the venue for our wedding.
Now about the Guest experience. This boutique hotel captures the spirit of the Bengali renaissance and being a Bengali I felt an eternal connection to this place. It is a place that is bustling with laughter, antique boutiques, dazzling chandeliers, and architectural heritage. It was a full 2 days packed escapade with events and ceremonies planned. This boutique hotel has curated rooms which offers a truly nostalgic zamindar bari ambience. This wedding gave us the reason for merrymaking, family get-togethers and association. Conventions and event venues (Raangmanch, Raasmanch, Arcadia) are pure magnificence to host a lavish wedding. The venue is so beautiful it captured our hearts and made our wedding a memorable event. Overall, a historical experience.
A wedding is incomplete without delicious food. Throughout the events exceptional culinary was selected and served to the guests which accolated very positive guest reviews.
This wedding is made eventful and hassle-free by the courteous and cooperative staff. A big shout out to the event Manager Ms. Samarpita. She was the backbone to coordinate this event with me. She ensured all the events are timed well and guests are looked after. She has a very welcoming personality and that is why we connected well and together we called out an eventful wedding. I would also like to mention about banquet Manager Mr. Gautam. He was the man behind coordinating the buffet and ensured guests were served well.
A special mention of this hotel's evening events. Evening Baul sangeet gaan, special performances by the performers accentuated guest experience. We felt divine and solitude. It was that time to switch off and relax. Overall, a very positive experience and I highly recommend this place for your special events.

The food needs to inprove. The in house restaurant Swig needs to improve both the beverage section and the quality of service provided.

Rooms were excellent. Amenities and activities were at par. Staff were courteous and attentive.

Can we go for family get together for my daughter's birthday, do we get any decoration for that?

A peaceful royale place amidst the hustle bustle of the city. The support staff are excellent and provide their care and support specially Ankita Mam. The good menu is excellent and so the taste of food. A true place where one can take a break for 2 days.

We all loved it. The ambiance of the place, the welcome offered to us by the staff was amazing. They made us feel so welcome. You made our stay wonderful. I must mention the reception staff and Ankita in particular. Lovely place. Saying that I need to mention one point. Your beds are too high, good if you are a high or pole vault jumper which I don't think most of your female guests are. Please atleast provide with a small stool.

Had the opportunity for Poila Boishakh Lunch at Rangmanch. The food was lip smacking, staff were cordial and the environment was beautifully done to match the occasion.

Place is really well decorated with 4 Halls to chose from. Starting from Santushti which is the most cost effective open area. The second one being Rangdarbar another open cum closed area to fit around 400 heads. The third one being Rang manch and fifth one Ras manch are the closed banquet halls with immensely decorated spaces.

It's one of teh heritage properties and yet the price is comparable.

Visited here last year on the auspicious day of Noboborsho (Bengali New Year). Fantastic property with a fabulous location and awesome service. The food served in their in house restaurant East India Room was really delectable. This place has maintained the traditional avatar with a modern outlook, a perfect combination of both is rarely found these days.

Spent day and night at Rajkutir in connection to a marriage of my nephew. The decorations, old fashioned cots, gorgora, mirrors in the rooms remind me of the time of gorgeous Raja/ zaminder. Coupled with these are the modern facilities. Outside courtyard is vast, beautiful and equipped with relaxing seating arrangements.

Beautiful idea and the old haveli look and story. The staff are really wonderful. They make up for the food which is average. The staff will go out of their way to help. As a venue for a litfest this place was quite good. Hopefully the crowd grows once they see how charming this hotel is.

It is an wonderful place in the kolkata city. Though known to less number of people. I attended Times Lit Fest 2019 here, and i had never seen such a beautiful hotel in kolkata before. An ancient structure, with good staffs, wide space, lots of greenery, makes you feel like king for one day. A must visit.
