It is a multi purpose theatre complex with good seating arrangements. The soothing and well thought of sound system adds to the audience experience. It hosts dance and drama performances and is also used for conferences, on request and special permission sometimes. The hall is used as a movie theatre as well during the Kolkata International Film Festival and Children's Film Festival. It is closest from Rabindra Sadan metro station.
I highly recommend at least one time visit, if not more, during the film festival. The entire ambience is so welcoming that I assure the visitors will return for the second time and more. There are several other halls and theatres that you can visit in the same tour, such as, Nandan, Shishir Mancha, Gaganendra Hall, Academy of fine arts and so on. One can also visit St Paul's Cathedral, Victoria Memorial, Birla Planetarium and Mohar Kunja during the visit. And if they feel like having a lazy stroll across the lush green fields, Kolkata has its own Maidan for that too. Skip the Rabindra Sadan metro and walk to the Maidan metro on your way home. I can promise you a wonderful view on your way.

Yesterday I have watched a philippine film there on the auspicious occasion of 25th KOLKATA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, 2019. This place was nicely decorated as if we were celebrating a grand festival. Toilets, seats, sounds all were good. A long was there awaiting for the next show.

Since 2010 we three best friends going there to spend time.it's a best place for hangout with friends even with boyfriend and spouse. ️️ whenever I go there I definitely visit St Paul's cathedral Church which is too close.and yeah cheap movies are on hit list. ️️
