Rampuria Homestay

Very nice behaviour starting from the owner to the other employees. We also went to a bold trecking under the guidance of the owner. He has been very friendly through out out journey. Must visit this homestay

এতো সুন্দর জায়গা আর এতো ভালো ব্যবহার যে কি বলবো ।মনে হচ্ছিলো নিজের বাড়িতে গিয়েছি ।আর খাবার তো খুবই সুন্দর ঘরোয়া ।আমি আবার যাব।

I stayed there with my family and friends on 5th and 6th October 2022. Honestly the homestay service is pathetic. Infact I would rather say it is a hotel. They served food in very small quantity and most importantly the taste of the food was disgusting without salt. Chicken stew is much better than the chicken given there. Just survived two days anyhow. Nobody wrote about the leeches in previous reviews but the rooms are not at all clean and maintained. If you are ok with leeches and can starve, then you can stay there or else don't. Avoid this place for stay. You can visit the forest for scenic beauty and leave the place. Bikash Pradhan is a well behaved Owner but never helped us with the solution from leech attacks. He is a master businessman. One cup coffe Rs. 50 charged. The tea they provided tasted like sweet water. The rooms, terrace everywhere we were attacked by the leeches (rainfall also increased the leeches). Since we had a kid with us, after raising voice, they changed the room to top floor which manages us to stay the 2nd day. Now a days many tourist agents recommended this place but don't fall in the trap as we did. Once you get in you won't be able to leave as cars are also not easily available. Only booked car options with pick up and drop can be accessed.
Rest the choice is yours. Good luck!

Room conditions are very poor, beware of insects and spiders water pouring from the ceiling damp room and food quality is worst service is very bad no lock and key for doors

No doubt you have choosen us for our hospitality and scenic beauty. We appreciate your presence here with us. It is sometimes becomes difficult for us to serve you to the fullest but it's our earnest request not to view from one angle while giving critical review. We try level best to satisfy all, but not everyone is same. They pressurise us to the extreme. We are in forest village where every soothing amenities may be absent but we always try to provide everything of your convenience. Anyway I think everyday I learn and I promise you we will do best.

Staying in Rampuria Homestay can ruin your holiday trip no matter how tolerant you are. I visited this homestay on 23rd May 2022 with my wife. I would specifically like to warn everyone visiting / planning to stay in this homestay. Please do not believe to the displayed photographs and do not pay a single penny in advance for staying here or an advance to your travel agent / homestay management / manager without a thorough check of the allocated rooms yourself.
1. LACK OF PRIVACY: Latch of the room's main door broken. See trough curtains are provided in all the rooms and all the guests were complaining about it. It is really a point of concern especially where rooms are fitted with transparent glass windows.
2. UNHYGIENIC AND UNCLEAN ROOMS: The homestay does not provide clan room to the guests. While we entered, we found heap of dust just beside the room entrance, which was not removed even after repeated request. The rooms were stinking despite sunny weather. The beddings provided are not at all clean. They need to do pest control for all the rooms they have in the home stay. The window channels are full of used cigarette butts, signs of gutka spits.
3. UNAVAILIBILITY OF PURIFIED DRINKING WATER: Purified water is not available, and the guests are not informed beforehand that they provide the same tap water (not purified) used for cleaning the used utensils. Since there is no local shop within 10km radius, there was no way to purchase packaged drinking water and I suffered from severe diarrhoea after drinking the water. They do not keep even a bottle of packaged drinking water.
4. DEFECTIVE WINDOWS: Tilt and turn fanlight windows cannot be closed, which causes inrush of insects and mosquitoes after sunset. We repeatedly requested to seal that one, but nobody cared. We had to do makeshift arrangements to get rid of insects. No insect repellents were provided. No window in the bathroom only a window sized gaping hole was there. It is unpleasant to go to washroom after sunset because of the insects coming through the hole.
5. FALSE PROMISE OF AMENITIES: The photographs does not match with actual room conditions. Most of the rooms are under construction, which do not have proper wall, sun shade. Although geysers are fitted in each room, not a single one is in working condition. Although they claim it to be a homestay, they accommodate 30 people at a time and fail to serve the minimum expected requirements of guests.
6. MISMANAGEMENT: This is the worst part of the homestay. The manager Nabin Ghosh, apparently a simple and tame person, comes to his impolite and discourteous form whenever any guest reports any problem. He never acknowledges any issue of the homestay, rather lectures on the things to be expected from this homestay. The overall management system is very suspicious, like: The authority running the homestay are not aware of the problems, the owner of the property has no authority to solve the issues, the manager is a 3rd entity, who does not care about comfort of the guests, and lastly, you will not understand whom you are paying – the owner, the manager, the middleman agencies, ore the homestay authority as they do not provide any invoice.
Such poor management, run by city people is spreading misconception about the homestays run by locals. I am utterly disgusted with this homestay management.

If you want to get good service, good bathrooms with geyser, clean and liveable rooms please make sure to come here in big groups otherwise you have to face harassment just like us. We, a group of 4 were given 2 under construction rooms filled with insects, curtains not cover the glass windows, handshowers which were broken (they tried to fix it with feviquick lol). After asking for hot water we got only half balti for 4 of us! While the big group also staying with us had rooms equipped with geyser. The worst guy was NABIN whose attitude and way of talking would make think that you were staying there for free! Didn’t even cared about any complaints, didn’t even tried to talk, just walked away irresponsibly using abusive words. I have stayed in a lot of homestays and this experience was totally new. Only the good thing about the place was the view and the dogs.

Very Disappointing and here is why
1. Latch of the room's main door broken hence lack of privacy
2. Window couldn't be closed and later it was taped shut but by then insects had already flooded in.
3. Sheer curtains
4. No window in the bathroom only a gaping hole in place of it
5. Purified water not available and the guests are not informed of the matter. Although I had no issue drinking local tap water but people prone to hill diarrhea (like my spouse) might face problem
6. Geyser does not work.
7. Rooms have a fishy stink (no idea why)
but air freshner were provided
8. Although it is a homestay at a time they accommodate 30 people and fail to meet the guests' requirements.
9. The mismanagement and conditions of the rooms aside, the worst part was the behaviour of the manager. The manager Mr. Nabin Ghosh barely acknowledges the problems faced by the guests. He was impolite and lectured us on 'what not to expect from a homestay'.
I must add that house owner Mr. Dinesh Thapa is a cordial human being, he actually listened to our problem.but it was too late and our experience had already turned bitter.
Finally, we were so disgusted with everything, especially the manager's attitude that we had to cut our stay short and almost fled the place but paid 2 nights price for one night stay (the management was not open to negotiation).

Worst homestay i have ever visited. I went with a group of 6 adults and 4 children on 23rd may and had booking for 2 days. But they compelled us to stay three under construction room. The rooms are untidy, at the time of rain water logged into it.the bathrooms are not even plastered.their service was also very much terrible. On this ground we want to leave after one night but Mr. Vikas Pradhan took the money for both of two days. He did not consider the miserable condition of his homesaty. The behavior of the manager and staff is also very rude. The owner Mr. Pradhan (A school teacher also) only knows how to take money from guests and he arranged 10-12 rooms on his house for home stay with a single domestic electric connection, which leads to poor service as most of rooms have no geyser and rest are restricted.please share the views and raise your voice with this.

Place was awesome.view was scenic. Mr Bikash is a teacher in Government school. We had hike in jungle guided by him. He told us we would be given certificate after completion and paid him the amount for it but till now we haven't received.that's made us annoyed. Please Sir do the needful. We would like to visit for second part of trekking. And also food quality should improve and don't serve three in no's. Any for tourist its unlucky and its look bad.either four in qty or six. Sunrise is classic.

Star? ! I just can't give them 1 star even. No, actually the scenic beauty around this homestay is really awesome but if you want the view please check for another homestay but not this one. Staff behaviour is really worse than I could think even and food is also not satisfying. For snacks they give you 3 small dal pakoda and 10 Rs. Cha (tea) in small paper cup. They didn't provide morning tea even. Rooms were like in under construction with broken hand shower, bathroom with bad smell and without geyser. One thing more please be aware of insects. Overall I had very bad experience for just one night. I personally can't suggest someone for this homestay.

The scenic beauty of North Bengal, specifically of Darjeeling district will present you a memory to cherish for lifetime. The warm and heartily behaviour of the staff, specially, Arpan will make you feel at home

The owners are very friendly and it actually feels like a staying with a family. The Manager in charge, Mr Sudev, is especially very helpful. Recommended.

A homestay at hilltop very good location but tuf to reach for aged persons. 200+ stear to climb.

The hotel condition was creepy and the only best thing about the hotel is view. Service was very bad.

Remote place with a steep climb. But once there, you get excellent views all around. Rooms and Services are rudimentary and leave s lot to be desired though the owner and staff are very polite and obliging within their limited means.

Peaceful environment with beautiful landscape. Behavior of the owner and the family members are so nice. Cozy place and the foods are also good. I enjoyed my staying there so much.

Still not complete. The food is good and the boys who provide service is very nice. Managemnt is not so much.

Splendid scenario from the homestay.pleasant weather (we went there on 21st of march'21) foods were really tasty and of good quality. Above all, nice hospitality.would love to go there once more!

Too bad homestay. The service is very bad, the door lock is broken, the windows are broken, there is no place to get water out of the bathroom and the food is very bad. I was surprised that people danced and sang while playing the box in such an offbeat quiet place.

The homestay is still under construction but they're taking bookings for tourists. The food is also not upto the mark. View and natural beauty is good but the place is top remote and full of insects as well.

Worst management ever. Bathrooms don't have any ventilation, water is not clean, geysers don't work nothing is at place. This Homestay is still under construction.

Very good experience in Rampuria Homestay. Owner Mr. Bikash Pradhan is a very good person and shown us the village himself. Food is also good and rooms are neat and clean.

Beautiful homestay. Their homely behaviour, food are so good. Nice view of sunrise, can be seen from your room sitting on your bed. But it should be avoided by older people, pregnant women, as you have to climb several staircases to reach the homestay.

Hospitality is awesome, food is very good. If you want to chill for a day, far from crowd, this place is best for you. Owner is very good and very helpful. Only thing is need to correct the route in map. Otherwise it's heaven.
