Rodhighar Homestay

One of the best homestays, I have ever seen. The ambiance was so good with the serene beauty of nature. And what should I say about the food, it was so delicious and mostly made from organic vegetables. The hospitality of the owner, Shri Tirthankar Gurung, and the behavior of all his family members and staff were very impressive. We will surely visit again to enjoy the calm and pleasant beauty of the nature.

It is an idyllic sanctuary for the city-battered souls; a hamlet sojourn for those who just love to watch the world go by for a few days. Nestled amidst verdure and bird chirps all day long, this homestay provides #organic #vegetarian meals, home-made chutneys, ‘aachars’ and ghee. During our 3-day tour, not a single dish was repeated. The rooms are star-rated, large washrooms with 24X7 hot water from geysers and cherry on the cake is the hospitality of the staff and the owner, Sri Trithankar ji. Confidently recommended!

Best Homestay, best location, best food and best people!
No wonder almost all the reviews are in paragraphs instead of a couple of sentences. One can't describe the goodness of this place in a few words. Right from the location to the very well maintained wooden rooms and scenic views all around to the warm behaviour of the staff, everything is sure to win your heart.
The homestay is located away from all the hustle bustle of the city in a calm place down the hills. The cottage is nestled amidst their own farm which has orange trees, tea shrubs, and their own kitchen garden from where they procure vegetables for the meals. The food is pure, clean and organic; freshly prepared by the owner's family and staff. They even served us a variety of home-made pickles and ghee procured from their cow. I'd have stayed there for more days just for the food, the saintly people around and the sublime place. We even bought tea from them that they cultivate at their backyard garden, fresh and unadulterated. Interactions with the owner's parents were golden, conversations that would keep me happy for long! Asish, a staff there, was one of kindest souls I'd ever met, sincere and hardworking. You can just stay inside the property, relax and stroll around to get the fullest of your trip. We strolled around their beautiful fields looking at the cultivations. They can arrange sight seeing, pick-up and drop service from the airport/railway station for you too. The driver was friendly and drove safe.
The best homestay for a reason!

Quite an experience, away from the hustle bustle of the city. We took the Old Cottage which had 2 rooms (We had booked both) and it was really comfortable. Outside seating of the cottage gives you a view of the hills across. Clean bedsheets and blankets, hot water from geyser, etc is a must when you are in the hills and Rodhighar homestay didn't disappoint us at all. The host is amazing and so is the staff. Food is also great. Great Place for Weekend Getaways and family time too. Looking forward to visit again.

A vegetarian homestay that oozes quality. The taste of their homemade ghee is the best I've ever tasted.

It was a pleasant stay. We received a warm welcome from the staff, rooms were clean, food was veg but trust me when I say it felt oh so good! We had the whole place to ourselves and it was pretty awesome. Highly recommended for weekend getaways.

Be awry of the steep road with sharp turns. Must be an experienced and skilled driver to drive through the 4-5km stretch.

Best homestay I have ever seen. The Owner Mr. Tirthankar Gurung Ji is a great guy. And caretaker Mr. Amit Thapa, Oh! Such a nice person. Also we have to say that cook (Wife of Mr. Amit Thapa) is extreamly good. Such a professional cook. Also we have met a cute boy named Abhishek. We named him Tintin. Such a lovely and lively guy. Must place to visit if anyone want a nice cozy, silent, close to nature homestay. We think this is not a homestay. This should be a resort.

We were there for New celebrations. It was a great experience, food location views all are amazing. Get in touch with the most humble owner and he will get things done for you. Its a pure veg property but you can cook non-veg outside, bring your own things

Trithankar Bhaiya (the owner) presents you a pristine home in the lap of a serene piece of nature. And yes. Amit Bhaiya's moreish food and a hike down the village are two additional boon for anybody's stay.

The property is very good with serene view of the hills and great hosts. The food which they prepare is 100 percent vegetarian, mostly made from organic vegetables and is delicious. We wanted to have some authentic local food and they happily prepared it for us. The primary person there, Mr. Amit Thapa is very humble and took great care to make our stay comfortable. The owner Mr. Tirthankar Gurung is a very friendly and grounded person. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Best place to enjoy nature from close. The cottage gives a vibe of the British times and the rooms are very clean. Great hospitality from the owner and other staffs. The food gives a homely feeling and fresh organic vegetables and home made diary products. A must stay to this place!

The Homestay Felt Like Our Own Home. First of all the food was tasty then comes the place. I swear you will find real peace in the place. The ambiance was awesome and the people were so good.
