I recently visited Royal Indian Restaurant with high expectations, especially considering its reputation for authentic Indian cuisine. Unfortunately, my experience with their biryani left much to be desired. The quality fell short of the standards I associate with a restaurant of this caliber.
The biryani lacked the rich blend of spices and flavors that make this dish a beloved Indian classic. The rice was overcooked with artificial colours and mushy, with an absence of the distinct aroma that characterizes well-prepared biryani. The meat, usually a highlight in this dish, was dry and lacked the tenderness one expects.
While the ambiance and service at Royal Indian Restaurant were commendable, the subpar quality of the biryani significantly impacted my overall satisfaction. I hope they address these issues to maintain their reputation for excellence in Indian cuisine.
Location: Close to Quest Mall, towards Park Circus.
Ambience: 1st floor is ac section. Large tables, good lighting. Large glass panes overlooking the street. Filtered water available. Clean washroom and washbasin.
Service: Quite prompt. Found a hair in the Mutton Chaap, when pointed it out to the waiter he immediately changed the dish.
Ordered: * Mutton Chaap: tender mutton pieces, spices were a little bland, did not have the flavours expected. Rs 330. Found a hair in the dish. Though the waiter changed the dish, hygiene is an issue. * Paratha: thin, slightly yellowish in colour, little sweet, did not taste good. Was not perfect with the chaap, perhaps naan would have been better. Rs 50. * Shahi Tukra: quite good, however not the best. Rs 130.
Overall, taste of dishes were average, nothing to make me come again. Just an ok restaurant.
The biryani was fab indeed. However we took Shahi Tukda.it was kind of smelling.frankly we were a little disappointed. Otherwise kebabs and other items were nice.
Heavenly tasty food. Had Awadhi Biryani and I must say that it is the most tasty Biryani I ever had. Additionally, we had mutton chaap, Shahi Tukra and Phirni. Everything taste fabulous!
Ordered the mutton chaanp Totally dissatisfied with the quality and quantity.
The mutton chaap is supposed to be their most famous dish on the menu, however, if thats the case, I am not too inclined to try other items off their menu.
Worst Quality of biryani in kolkata which I never had in my life as there were no flavors in it. Just a boiled rice with little bit of masala on top which they garnished for viewing purpose only. They need to improvise the quality and the taste.
Loved the actual kolkatta meals.location is very centrally positioned right in front of quest mall.ambience is proper for any own family. Pricing is allright.service may be very very short n the waiters are very hygienic with masks n stuff.totally recommend this region for biryanis nd tandoori meals.
Undoubtedly one of the best Biriani resturant in kolkata. Prime location at park circus. The speciality of this restaurant is they serve Biriani without potato, instead of that they serve mutton chunks with the rice. Anyway you can opt for the kolkata famous aloo Biriani too. Complete satisfaction for every mughlai cuisine lovers
Very good service Great biryani.had the Kolkata version i.e. With Aloo And phirni to round off the meal The biryani was flavourful, very well cooked, but the mutton piece could be a bit bigger. Aloo was flavourful too! All in all a pretty good meal
I purchased 9 nos mutton biryani after open the pack i found full of bone in every pack only 1 small size of moton piece found, Don't purchase from here
