Food quality is sub-optimal compared to the price. In my opinion, people visit there only due to the lack of any other hotels serving mughlai cuisine.

It is one of the most oldest restaurant in Kolkata. I tried chicken stew and tandoori roti there. The quality of food was good and the taste was also okay, nothing different from other restaurants. But the waiter was not humble, he was treating me like I went there to eat food for free. Although

I visit this place almost after 3-4 years. The floor area decreased. Waiting time for food is now huge. Menu is very short.
Pricing ok.

Food was good in quantity, taste and quality. They serves best mutton rezala I have ever had! Unfortunately their staffs are rude, unmannered and unprofessional. It's better to avoid them as much as you can, place your order. Don't talk too much with them, especially when you will have your girlfriend with you!

If you are at Chandni Chowk (Kolkata), this is one of the best place to have lunch or dinner.this shop is really old and the ambience is really good, the people working there are really polite.the food is also good, specially the biriyani is too good like one of the best for me till date.

The worst place for fooding. They provide me with stale Biriyani at the opening of their AC counter. Once their chap use to be their signature dish but now it's horrible, full of salt. Please before any of you order any food in that restaurant please make sure that they don't provide you stale food.

This is one of the older hotels in the area. It might not look much from the outside but it's dishes speak for itself. Good food coupled with well behaved employees make it a rather fruitful experience. It's not the finest experience but it's definitely one worthwhile to try out atleast once.

Best Mutton Rezala ever.
Only problem is their contact number is not working for past 1 year. And owner seems to be least bothered

I went for their star dish Mutton rezalla, you expect to be served the dish you want from the joint. Unfortunately they had only the chicken rezalla. These are iconic food joints, if they don't maintain professionalism, we customers leave disheartened with no enthusiasm to come back. They even had no option for money transfer or UPI, cash was the only mode. Really left with hopes crushed.

The place right now is very poor. This kind of a place wouldn't survive nowadays, the only reason it is surviving is because of its name. It is right old unclean with cats roaming about and a horde of disinterested staff.

I was a very frequent visitor in Sabir's since I started earning. Still can remember their pocket friendly and mouth watering mughlai cuisins, specially Mutton rezala and Shahi tukda, which was their signature dish.
After a long gap, today evening we decided to have a nice dinner at Sabir's along with my family members.
We entered the first floor for A. C. Room around 8pm, which was empty and we were the only customer there.
First we ordered Chicken reshmi kebab and Fish tikka (perhaps) as starters. At the time of eating, we could not identify which one is fish. Salads was also not fresh, rather dry and smelly. Then we ordered Mutton rezala and Tandoori roti as main course. Roti was nice and perfect but Rezala was horrible. It becomes a almost sweet dish. Although Mutton pieces was small and tasteless but sufficiently soft. Seems it was just pressure cooked seperately and added afterwards in the gravy.
As none of us don't like it and ordered for Mutton biriani and Mutton chanp. After sometime we informed that both will not be available. Then we ordered Mutton tikiya, unfortunately, that was also not available. Then we ask for another mutton dish (forgot the name), as usually, after some time we came to know that 'oh nahi milega, khotom ho giya'.
We decided to stop our dinner and ordered Shahi tukda as our dessert and in our utter dismay instead of tukda, without asking, waiter serves Firni because 'tukda khotom ho giya'- he announced after serving Firni.
Firni was undercooked and most disastrous firni I have ever eaten. Feels something like 'Payes'.
Althugh hungry, we anonimously decided to ended our food tour there.
Now my ratings-
I deducted - one star for ambience, presentation and staffs behaviour.
Two star for taste of food.
One star for pricing- price is on the higher side compairing taste and quantity.

It is one of the oldest and popular restaurant in this Localities. Located on Chandni Chalk Street. Food is Very Tasty at Reasonable Price. Ambience is not that good but too much crowded always.

Food is awesome, but behaviour of it's staff is not good. Be careful while you give order for food, whatever you want to eat tell the waiter at once, don't brave to order step by step.

Average in their services and cleanliness. But they didn't serve snacks like Roll etc in the evening.

Idkw but i love the biriyani over here.its tasty and filling.i am a mutton lover so mutton biriyani is all i order and at times i order 3 plates when we are 2 people.the biriyani is not much oily and the mutton served is fresh.the chicken leg roast is also a must try and tastes delicious.this place is very famous.so in case you find it diffcuilt to find you can ask anyone and they will show you the way.its a vintage building.so if you are expecting a luxury dining this might not be the place but if you are a biriyani lover and you are in a relationship with biriyani this place is a must try.

Ordered paratha and mutton chaap. Very teasty. Price is reasonable. But the mutton biriyani was not so good. Hence 4 start.

Overall I have enjoyed my visit there.

One of the top 5 mughlai restaurants of Kolkata. Special as per me would be mutton/chicken rezala, tandoori roti, chicken chnaap, chicken/mutton biriyani etc. During Ramzan, haleem prepared by then is fantastic.

Situated within few minutes’ walking distance from Chandni Chowk metro station, 100 yards inside from Ganesh Avenue.

This place can never disappoint any Rezala lover. Their iconic Mutton Rezala with Tandoori Roti is as good as it can get. We tried the Biriyani as well which was a bit dry. Prices are moderate. Paid 650 (with tip) for 2 tandoori roti, 1 mutton rezala, 1 chicken rezala, 1 chicken biriyani and salad.

If you’re fussy about healthy eating, this place ain’t for you. We had breakfast there, so couldn’t get the Mutton Rezala which is their signature dish. We had mutton gurda kaliji and one other mutton item whose name I don’t remember now. Gurda kalija is simply awesome. So is their roti. They have a nice firni too. Thinking of going again to grab the rezala.

This place serves the best rezala in town. Sabir is a very old restaurant, used to go there regularly as a kid. Later the fancy North Indian restaurants cropped up all around town but this place is still low on decor, no fancy wall paintings of decorated ceilings. However the food is still great. The rezala is creamy, and tangy, just the way it is supposed to be. The meat is tender. Best to have with tandoori rotis.

Mainly famous for its rezzala. Mutton, chicken, mughlai items are also available. First floor of restaurant is air conditioned & it may cost some extra. There is also some private cabins in the 1st floor. Cash only restaurant.

The hyped mutton and chicken rezala is too sweet to be liked. Also serving is very less. They serve one piece in every dish you order and the price of which ranges from Rs 140-180

They have a rule about closing down the AC family area upstairs at 9. And they love sticking to this rule even if they have turn down 16 odd customers. Just annoyed because this particular tidbit is not mentioned on Zomato.

Most affordable fair price heritage eatery in Kolkata unlikely Arsalan, India and Alia who charges super high prices for same quality and product. Their culinary is real world class

One of the older mughlai eateries of Calcutta. In this month of Ramadan special mutton haleem is available at rs170. Excellent quality and taste.

If you want great quality food in a relatively cheap price, Sabir is the place to go. Located in Chandni Chowk, the place serves good quality food in a cheap price. Often, if you're lucky, you can go there when they have a special menu for a limited time. I was that lucky once, they had brought a cook from Lucknow for limited time and the food was exceptional. There's no particularly best item in the menu in this restaurant; all the items are delicious in their own right. If you're a non-veg lover, definitely visit this place!

Don't expect comfort of AC: a usual eatery of 1980s within a very busy marketing place: Still a nice place with friends.
