This place has lost its charm. Has become absolutely unhygienic and untidy. The quality and quantity of food too has become absolutely low on par its peers. Consider the ROI at this place too low to spend time and money here.
Great place for yummy ice creams, French fries, sandwiches, pizza. They serve various types of ice cream. Seating over looking Ganges river. Viewers delight.
Big big disappointment today when I was just passing by and thought of buying an ice cream floats, I did not go upstairs to sit just for pickup I was charged 95 bucks for half glass coca cola with one small scoop.of vanilla ice cream in a open transparent glass. I was shocked to see this.if you ever go then atleast avoid buying this product as it's simply a waste of money.
The place claims to serve no non vegetarian items, but freely allows entry of non vegetarian food. Their staff openly eat non vegetarian food inside the outlet in full view of their the customer. When objected to, they said either you eat or you don’t it’s your choice. We will allow them to eat non veg. Disgusting experience and absolutely uncourteous man at the counter. I would not have given any starts if at all there was an option. It deserves no stars.
I visited the Scoop Restaurant first time and it was an excellent experience for me, food quality was very good specially the ice-cream was awesome but most important and beautiful things of this restaurant is river view from the window and I really want to revisit that place.
Very shocking experience in comparison to what I had in my younger days. The place is very ill maintained and u and get strong filthy smell. Totally disheartened. Don't venture to this place with any high expectations.
What a view —- through broken window panes! Can you think of a better place for siting down and having ice cream sundaes in Calcutta? Good, old-fashioned sundaes at a very reasonable price on Prinsep Ghat. Yet it could have been so much better. Please replace the windows upstairs, remove the storage area right in front of the staircase landing, add one high bench downstairs with high chairs downstairs facing the river, and add a coffee machine. My advice to the management, free of charge.
Really old place, nice location along the river banks with a nice view. The food however is not good. The place has not been maintained well and looks on the brink of closing down. The fries were extremely oily and burnt.
Simple restaurant with great sundaes (tried the tooty-fruity) and yummy cheesy sandwiches and pizzas. The best of course is the Ganges View, take a seat by the river-side window to sample it first hand.
It has a long held nostalgia attached to it.you never know, maybe your parents were sitting on the same chairs 30 years back. But the quality of food is not good and ambience is not upgraded and that's why it is loosing it's popularity. There is limited variation to choose from in ice creams
I had some really amazing memories of this place. This was supposed to be very costly or so my parents made me believe. I had their veg pizza earlier and loved it! But now I think the place has lost its shine.the glasses are dirty, the electric lines are hanging.it just broke my heart! I had the veg cheese sandwich and french fries. I liked the sandwich but the french fries tasted like homemade soggy aloo bhaja.but anything with aloo and fried is tasty by default. Do visit once for the experience.
Awesome view with fantastic ice-creams, but they could do little bit decoration, main important thing is they do not accept any cards or any online transaction, don't know why, they should have this option
Extremely poor maintainance, highly overpriced food, and rude behaviour, perfect combination for not visiting the restaurant again, except the food was not that bad though too pricey
Amazing Place. You can move to the 1st floor with your food. If you found any unoccupied table, grab the table first and then enjoy your food with the riverside view.
The service was ok, but the cleanliness of this place is not at par, the window side sitting arrangement has a nice view of the river Ganga flowing just beside, but the window panels are full of dust and stains that the view is completely blurred. The ice creams were nice but as per the price the presentation and quantity could be more. Would not likely to pay a second visit soon.
Very good place but at present they are not allowing entry. You have to order and eat outside so miss the inside ambience. However they inform me they may give entry tomorrow.
This place is really good. When I was a kid my parents took me there for the first time and since then this hasn’t really changed. Really good snacks and variety of ice creams available. I really like this place. THUMBS UP!
Nostalgic for me as my parents use to take me here. Best was french fries, orange slush and 3 scoop ice creams. Don't know the quality now but I can bet on the ambiance. The pav bhaji and soda drinks outside r also good. Best to wind up the evening with a ride in the local boats in hoogly river.
If you want to enjoy desi istyle farm fresh pizza, with lots of paneer as toppings, can come to this place. Ice-cream is okey, not excellent. Ambience is below standard considering the excellent location, just beside the river. It could have been better.
One of the best place to pass time in evening in kolkata. River view / both the bridges are visible. If you are visiting Kolkata this place is must "Princep Ghat". Then you will know why it is called city of Joy:)
Place is cozy, no doubt. Food is of good quality and fresh enough. It is specially famous for Icecream. Tailored-made options for icecream are also available. But the incovenient thing of payment option is that, they accept only cash. Just now we returned from the place. It was raining heavily. Top lounge was very poorly mainatained, water was drooping from everywhere. Buckets, pots, bowels were kept for collection of dripping water. Maintainance should be proper.
Perfect family place to visit. It has the view of Ganges and your food in front of you. What else do you want? The fresh pizzas are too good. You have to pay and fetch a coupon for each food. Varieties of Ice cream combos and so many vegetarian options for pizzas. The taste is really good. French fries are also good. The place is ideal to chill after a long walk in Princep ghat or Outram ghat.
Great place for ice creams and Sundaes. One can relish with a couple of sundaes. Or can take there family members for an ice cream treat. Beautiful view of the enchanting and mighty Ganga river. But it's a really old place as you can see the condition and the type of air conditioner they have. So one can visit this heritage any time without any hesitation. Great place for kids.
Location is awesome but tables remain cluttered with soiled tissues n utencils.the glass windows are dirty and one hardly get a clear view. ACs hardly function.v limited menu. It needs a COMPLETE OVERHAUL if it has to attract decent n civilized crowd!
Scoop princep ghat is one of the iconic ice cream parlour in kolkata. Located on the banks of the hoogly river has a great view of the river while you enjoy your snacks and ice creams. The parlour though only serves veg snacks is good and the ice cream is the best and really economic compared to other branches of scoop. Must try the french fries and the "as you like it " ice cream. All this while enjoying the view overlooking the river
Loved the view of the restaurant and the ambience. Ice creams are. Is also delicious, extra mozzarella cheese which seems missing nowadays in Domino's and Pizza Hut.
Childhood memories come gushing every time we visit Scoop.a trip to jetty as kids meant papa taking us to Scoop. Today, post Saraswati Pujo Visarjan, we simply hogged delicious crispy French fries with farmhouse + mushroom pizzas.must visit place with kids, for romantic couples, group and family eat out.
Amazing Pizzas. Quality food and pocket friendly too.
Variety of items available such as sandwiches, french fries and so on. Ice-creams are available too for a delicious treat. Situated in the area of Princep Ghat, it offers a scenic view of River Ganga (A. K. A. Hoogly).
