The Sealdah Railway Athletic Club is one of the oldest Durga pujas, established in 1947. It is famous for being Sealdah railway station’s primary corporate sponsor. Every year there is a procession led by goddess Durga, who is believed to have been invoked here in this very neighborhood, over three hundred years before the inception of Calcutta itself!
Sealdah Railway Athletic Club is located in central Kolkata and its established in the year-1948. We are famous for our Sarbojanin Durga Puja held every year. We also organise many social activities and sporting events through out the year like blood donation and health checkup camp, organizing cricket and football tournaments and apart from that we run a nursery football coaching institution “BAGHA SHOME FOOTBALL INSTITUTE ” named after famous and legendary former Indian National Football team coach Shri Tejes Shome nicknamed as Bagha Shome who was a part of our club once which is Indian Football
The pandal is based on the theme of role of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in India's independence and the main pandal is basically a replica of Red Fort.
One of the most famous place for the celebration of bengali's biggest festival Durga Puja. This place is known for its good decoration and attraction of huge crowd for several years. It is a good and reputed club having a big ground in that area. Normally I go there at the Durga Puja. Sealdah Athletic club does very good Durga Pratimas and Pandal and at that time it holds and performs good function in the big ground.
