Had only dorbesh here and it was good. But the rates seem overpriced. One dorbesh costed me Rs 30. People visiting kalighat temple and planning to buy traditional Bengali sweets can opt for this shop.

To-day at about 1: 30 P. M, I purchased 500 grams sweet card from sen mahashay sweet shop, Lake Market. The card was so sour & tasteless that I alongwith my family couldn't take a single spoon of card. This is really a sad state of affairs. I really became astonished to see that sen mahashay, being a renowned sweet shop is/are selling such type of product in lieu of money. Rs. 140/- for 500 grams card is not a matter of joke. Quality of product should be maintained.

On 11th May around 9 in the morning, at kalighat location i went to buy Khirer Chop sweets about 20 pieces, packed in boxes, and left out of Kolkata on the same night. When I reached my destination, I found stuffing inside of all sweets are burnt in black color with a filthy taste. What a pity, it is a self destruction of tarnishing SEN Mahasay image. Management must investigate this matter, it never happened before but why these burnt sweets were allowed in the showcase?

Things never to miss from here Radhaballavi Dry Aloor Dom Khirer Chop White Rabri Mishti Doi Mihidaana Sitabhog. I personally take khirer chop with me when am returning from Kolkata and trust me it has fans all over the country. This sweet is not available anywhere else. Glad you have a branch in South Kolkata also. Lovely stuff and highly recommended!

First time visited to there Shop for test the authentic sweet of Kolkata. I heard about a lot but today i was fortunate to go there and pick all sweet which was i liked. Without Singara Misti can’t be completed i think so that’s why i bought singara also.
Now talking about sweet trust me i have no words to express my feelings it’s so so delicious
Singara again am spell bound.
And the most important part which was behaviour of the stuff. They’re very humble and polite. They guide me how to carry sweets properly.

Came here on a recommendation of a friend we were visiting in the city and totally loved it. The place is an old establishment we were told and the folks behind the counter were courteous and helpful. The sweets themselves were the best I've tasted. We even brought back some for our folks here in Bangalore and they loved it as well. Will certainly come back for more.

Undoubtedly one of the best sweet shop in the city of joy. I can assure you that you will never be disappointed with there products. Price worth paying for there products.

They charged 30₹ for 3 containers (except the price of sweet) I told to pack good for flight still it was broke. All my clothes are wasted now.
