Saturday evening. No decent sweets were available. One sondesh tasted but couldn't take it. Mr. Sen should be concerned about the quality and taste and goodwill. Else.
Though it's a brand name of repute in the field of authentic Bengali sweets and snacks this outlet in Salt Lake is disappointing. Most of the time many items are not available as fresh items are delivered in small quantities and are not replenished. Also the counter wears a shabby look and is not maintained properly. However the quality of the sweets and snacks are quite good.
Located on the 1st avenue road and very easy to locate. A quite small shop compared to the big guns of sweets shop in Kolkata. Do try their Khirer Goja, Darbesh and Mihidana. Khirer goja is really magnificent and quite different from others. Sandesh's are worth for a try also. Obviously to maintain such standards, the prices are pretty high but certainly you can spend for a quality sweet treat.
Quality of sweets is just great. The sales personnel are also very good. Only thing the management of Sen Mohasoy needs to upgrade itself - as on this day they still don't have provision of a card swiping machine. It's either cash or UPI that too the UPI being a recent additiin
Sen Mahasay is a renowned establishment, who sells good quality Bengali sweets. Their prices are on the higher side. The shop accepts payment via cash & UPI only. Debit / Credit cards are not accepted here.
An old reputed brand of Kolkata well known for excellent Bengali sweetmeats, trying to prevail over ordinary flashy newcomers. Well done SEN MAHASAY! ! !
If you want to taste quality and traditional sweets of Kolkata then "Sen Mahasay" is definitely come among top three sweets shop in city. The sweetes and snacks are little bit costly. However the taste and quality items they provide can demand that higher price.
Great sweets. I really like the misti doi and parijat of this place. They normally depends on delivery from their main branch, so at time you won't get certain sweets. Staffs are cooperative. The shop is clean and hygienic.
One of the Oldest and Popular Sweet Shop in Kolkata. You will find Sugar Free sweets. Although the price is on the higher side still it's offerings are also unique and very popular among Salt Lake residents.
Ayy fam this place is f*ckin lit with action, thanks to two notoriously animated individuals on either opposite sidewalk; namely Poltu by the sweet shop, and Bhola outside the pastry store to the opposite. Whether ur on a bus or auto-rickshaw to get here, just tell them 'Sen Mahasay Poltu-Bhola jaabo kaka' ;)
Was possibly one of the top shops in the city for traditional bengali sweets once upon a time but is way past its prime now. Average products at max now.
Sweets are undoubtedly good but the behavior of the ones at the store is ridiculous. They demand the exact amount, they never have change not even for 50 or 100. If you buy something of less amount then they seem to be least bothered about you. Lastly it is not the case that they won't give you a carry bag, they will but only if your bill is 500 or above. Another thing i want to add is i have been eating sweets from here since childhood the sizes of the sweets are reducing and prices increasing alarmingly. If you are somewhere near AE block try VIP sweets instead of sending mahasay, you might like.
