@shakuntala Thanks for the beautiful experience, I came to know from my colleague about this place as i have seen over the website the, its just out of expectation specially the swimming pool. I just love the ambiance not only ambiance the staff the food quality everything was perfect.
Very bad service, if you order food in the room very late.service as rome rental is horrible. Food is also not a very good test. They say hotel in sonachuri hart taking advantage. I ordered a meal at 5.30 pm they couldn't deliver to me at 8 pm. And the room quality is awful. The bathroom is very dirty. Make sure the water doesn't fall from the faucet. The bed sheet is dirty, the towel is also dirty. Very bad experience Shankuntal Resort.
This restaurant service totaly discusting. Very bad services. Totaly careless. Food quality r very poor. Vital information this restaurent display food not served in table. Totaly diffarent item served by table. So all r people my humbly request you r not goes to this restaurent. Thanks.
Only advantage of this place is that it is just behind the Sonajhuri hut, everything else about this place goes against it Veg thali sucks given a price of 150 which already 20 bucks high I ordered Katla kalia but what i got is far from that (I hope you will agree after looking at the picture) Washroom sucks
And we got all these at 12: 40pm when they just started serving lunch so imagine what the people will get who go there say at 2pm.
I would suggest, go to Amar kuthir Hesel ghor. Cost is cheaper than here and the items of Veg thali itself taste better way better than this but be aware of the queue there which is also same here so make an informed decision. Cheers
Food was made earlier that's why it was not fresh. Platter was good but very expensive place. Unhygienic washrooms and tables. They didn't sanitize the tables. Decoration and set up is okay but not that classy. Serving styles were a bit different as they served in either clay pot or bronze pot. But atmosphere was too messy.
Shakuntala Restaurant is situated just adjacent to Sanibarer Haat in Shantiniketan. It is a serene place full of natural beauty. The cool breeze and the warm welcome will definitely mesmerize any person.
This Restaurant serves typical Bengali food in a rustic setting. They serve food in brass plates and lotus leaves but we didn't get the lotus leaves.
? Vegetarian thali costs Rs 150. One can add non vegetarian dishes to the order. The vegetarian thali included rice, bhaja, aloo posto, mixed vegetables, dal, papad, salad, chatni and payesh.
? The curries are typical bengali preparations. The Restaurant is located in a village type setting. The serveware are earthen from which they will give you rice and dal.
The food was on a bit spicy side. There was no glasses provided to have water from and all the curries were given in one plate which made it messed up during eating. The service is a bit slow.
In one word - worst. Expensive, qualty not at all good. Just wasting of money. Bolpure onk restaurant e kheyechi but ato besi dame ato baje quality food r kothao nei.
Very bad management, staffs' behaviour is very rude, all the time they misbehaved. They serve actually very cheap quality food with unreasonable price which is totally unjustified. Last but not the least the ambience is totally unpleasant. It is the worst restaurant in Bolpur-Santiniketan-Sriniketan area. Please don't waste your time and money here.
The environment is good, because it's in the outskirt of Santiniketan with natural benefit. The food is just the WORST.ordered Coffee, veg and chiken Pakoras, I surprised, that the quality and taste of the food is just Punk, worst than other resturent in Bolpur Santiniketan.
Veg thali cost is 150/- per thali (as on 17/01/20) previously it was 120/- (on October) & different price for different non veg items like Mutton, chicken, fish.
Quality of fish not good at all. Mourala fish-bitter taste Katla fish-not fresh
Loved it We stayed in Room 24 Nicely decorated AC room And Their upstair restaurant provides Tasty food at very normal prices. All staff members local people are very nice indeed. Please arrange to keep a Special Donation/Tip box at the restaurant for their enjoyment. Like to be there again. However, I request the owner to keep clean the area by removing unnecessary articles dumped.
As I heard they give pure bengali dish with multiple items but when I go to try it, there is just two item. The taste was good but not up to the mark as I always heard. Most of the time the written item on the menu board will not be served.
Beautiful place. Lovely atmosphere. They have the thali system and you have to take the non veg item separately.price is very reasonable. Highly appreciated
Shakuntala Restaurant is situated at Sonajhuri (beside tha canal) just adjacent to Sanibarer Haat. It is a serene place full of natural beauty. The cool breeze and warm welcome will definitely memerise you. Spend a full moon night here and that will be a memory for your Lifetime.
The location of this restaurant is awesome. Amidst baul songs and the essence of raw market, food becomes more delicous. There are two sections in the restaurant, AC and Non Ac. I will recommend the Non AC section. It's more beautiful!
Bad food, Poor Service, people over there are not at all cooperative. We ordered 3 plates meal and 1 plate chicken and 1 plate fish. Chicken was uncooked, there was a fly in the rice.overall it was completely tasteless Food is prepared in extremely unhygienic environment. Plates are not clean and leafs are old as well. Previously it was decent enough but recently it has been degraded alot. They have increased the prices and depleted the quality. Each meal costs ₹120 and chicken 1 plate (3 pieces) - ₹100 Terrible experience, it has lost its traditional Bengali food experience. I would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone to visit this place for food. Don't get deceived by its vintage type outlook!
