I have a query.we are planning to go to shantiniketan for a 3 days 2 nights trip. I have a labrador dog.very friendly and calm one.will pets be allowed to stay with us. I along with my parents and our dog want to book a room.kindly give us the details
The village themed resort is something unique to experience. Situated at the heart of the sona jhuri haat, the resort is a good option if toure staying in Shantiniketan. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. There are some entertainment programs in the night as well. Only feedback I have is the wifi in the room and maybe include more variety in the menu.
The food & ambience & the staff are good. The cottages are nice but need a little cleaning. Otherwise it was a nice stay. The location is wonderful amid the Sonajhuri forest, with haat being just at a stone throws distance.
Service is not up to the mark, behaviour of the staffs also very rough, restaurant service is very poor, price of all items are unreasonably high, and the quality of the food they served also is very cheap. Lodging service is little bit better but there is also lots of problem in managements. If one is planning to come please check all the details prior to come.
The ambience is excellent, whenever I visited the place, I used to stay there. All staffs are well behaved, always try to provide the best service.exrta benifit is nearby sonajhuri market.
On 27/08/21, we had lunch there as they had good reviews. But me and my friends were so disappointed. We ordered 3 veg thali and 2 mutton plate and we spent 870/-. When they served the food it looks good but when we tested it, it was pathetic, there was no test at all. And those mutton were not at all eatable. Only good thing that they have returned 2 plates mutton curry's price.
Excellent behaviour and ambience.the USP being the Shonajhuri haat being a step away. Front office staff Kalyan Mukherjee was extremely cordial. A parting gift of an ektara was a very sweet gesture.
Rooms is good, restaurant service available. Most attractive feature of this resort is that it's just in sonajhuri hat or sanibarer hat. Food quality is very good, veg thali is 150 INR. The environment is very good for kids. Car parking is also available.
Very poor service, had to wait 2 hours for dinner, and thats not a one off example, most of the customers faced the same problem, come and enjoy the worst weekend you can think of at sakuntala resort.
We booked three rooms, And Experiences are Pretty much same in all three. 1) Poor Room service! 2) Impolite Behaviour! 3) Lack of Synchronisation among their own stuffs! 4) Poor hygiene! Only Positive Aspect is The External Decoration (Soothing to eyes only). They Didn't provide us Drinking water and insisted to buy instead (With Variable prices as per their whims). Next morning, they told " We provide Mineral water for free, you didn't get? ". TV wasn't working (we just Checked, and had no intention to watch anything). AC, Fan weren't working properly. And they even didn't Take any positive step for that. People probably visit their seeing The Decoration only. Worse experience in Entire Shantiniketan.
The food was so so so much bad, quality and quantity too poor and was overpriced. On top of that, the stuffs are unmanageable, they even don't know how to behave with guests. The place is horrible. We ordered a Kochi pathar mangsho with 3plate of veg thali and the thing was not edible and tasteless, meat was so hard we can't eat anything. I am giving the place a 1 star because I couldn’t give it a 0 (zero) star. Don’t spend your money there. Street vendors foods are much tastier.
*SHAKUNTALA VILLAGE RESORT* We were there for our engagement party with our families. Location is awesome. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and the hall is too big. The decoration of the hall and rooms are mind blowing. We found art and craft everywhere of the resort. Staffs are friendly and helpful. The best thing i found that they served all the food in the earthenware and i really loved the food. It is really admirable. Thank you guys for your owesome service at our special day. I personally recommending everyone to visit once there.
It was a nice place, the staffs are so simple, generous, the prices of thalis are affordable too, only one thing, I thought the quality of the food would be lil bit better. Otherwise it's a go to place for lunch or dinner if you're in Shantiniketan.
Worst Resort ever seen & stayed. Worst room conditions! Behavior of staffs are at it worst. Bathrooms are quiet bad. Very High charges but bad rooms ever. Cemented beds. Floors are quiet bad. Foods are highly charged.
It's a mediocore village resort I've stayed! Don't ever try to find any room in this resort!
The rooms are so costly but in exchange you won't be satisfied by their amenities. The rooms are highly damaged! No renewal have been done in many years!
The beds in the standard rooms are cemented What the hell Matreesses are just no need to describe! They're disguisting! The Fans don't work properly! Regulators are wasted!
The doors and windows are damaged! Bathrooms are not cleaned in a decade! The locks don't wok!
They don't provide you TV while they charge you 4000/day
They charge you so much for the dinner and don't even provide good quality food!
There are Large Holes on the wall of the rooms! Switch boards don't work presisely!
When you ask for tv then they bring a tv and leave it to the table (what's this thing!)
Worst service we've ever got in any resort.
The staircase to the Restuarent above are just broken! They doesn't even maintain a piece of things!
This is the WORST accommodation in bolpur.they are thriving because its near sonajhuri haat. Rooms are pathetic and costly (price not matching value they offer), food is expensive and gross.staffs are recruited ad-hoc and they do 'khep' service.so dont expect professional behaviour.moreever the every property it situated could be illegally occupied.using muscle and money.if you have other choices please avail - otherwise find a reason for yourself to waste your hard-earned money. I don't record this accommodation to any one.
This is an over hyped place in Shantiniketan. It's only attractive feature is it lies in the middle of the Sonajhuri haat nothing else. The management is reluctant to provide any room service when asked for. We had to ask 10 times for a single thing. The food quality is worst and as good as a roadside hotel but the charges are very high. In the lunch they provide meal system which consists of rice, water like daal and one curry. When asked for more things they don't provide it saying it cannot be repeated. The quality of evening snacks are very poor and it is not cooked well. It's a very bad choice for stay at a hefty price.
