A forgotten 300+ years old Palace in West Bengal which is gonna be abolished soon, just by lack of maintenance and government coldness.
This Seoraphulli Rajbari, just a 5 minutes walking distance from Seoraphulli Station lost all its glory and historical significance by course of time and nobody simply cares except some enthusiast.

5 minutes of walking distance from sheoraphuli station - not sure if it is open to all rest of the year.

I visited the raj bari during durga puja. Beside the raj bari, there is sarba Mangala temple.

Unlike most of the rai baris nearby, people stay here. So, the raj bari is well maintained.

Since I did not get anyone from the family nearby, I could not gather the information of how old this rajbari is, but the lady who takes care of the sarba Mangala temple told that it is 300+ years old.

Raja Monohar Chandra Ray established this temple in 1734 AD. There is a beautiful Durga idol made of astadhatu in the garvagriha of the temple. Apart from the daily puja of Ma Sarbamangala in the temple, special pujas are organized during Durga puja. At that time many devotees visit the temple to seek blessings of Ma Sarbamangala.

My maternal grandparents reside in Sheoraphuli so I have visited the place once. Though I didn't get darshan of Ma but the surrounding area i explored.it was nostalgic.old palace

One of the speciality of this Goddess is there is no image of Kartik, Ganesh, Laxmi and Saraswati unlike in traditional Durga (also known as Sarbamangla) idol we find in Bengal.

Direction of the region

By train - Get down at Sheoraphuli Junction and from there take a direct autorickshaw to Sarbamangla Bari (the stoppage name is Rajmath)

By roadways- Using Delhi Road get down at Sheoraphuli and from there after a walk of 2 mins auto stand and from there to Sarbamangla Bari (Rajmath)

By Ferry - Get down at Nimaithirtha Monirampur ghat (in Baidyabati) from there take a auto or rickshaw to Sarbamangla Bari (Rajmath)

#শেওড়াফুলি_রাজবাড়ি: -

শেওড়াফুলি রেলস্টেশনের পশ্চিম দিকের কিছুটা দূরে, সুরেন্দ্রনাথ বিদ্যানিকেতন স্কুলের পাশে শেওড়াফুলি রাজবাড়ি অবস্থিত। শেওড়াফুলি রাজবংশ বাঁশবেড়িয়া রাজবংশের আর এক শাখা। বাংলার প্রাচীন রাজবংশগুলির মধ্যে এই রাজবংশ অন্যতম। এঁরা উত্তররাঢ়ীয় কায়স্থ (দত্ত) । আকবর বাদশায়ের আমল থেকে রায়, মজুমদার ইত্যাদি উপাধি ভোগ করে আসছেন। আনুমানিক ষোড়শ শতাব্দীর মাঝামাঝি, এই বংশের দ্বারকানাথ বর্ধমান জেলার পাটুলি গ্রামে এসে বসবাস শুরু করেন। দ্বারকানাথের পৌত্র সহস্রাক্ষ এবং সহস্রাক্ষের পৌত্র রাঘব (রাঘবেন্দ্র) দত্ত। রাঘবের দুই পুত্র, রামেশ্বর ও বাসুদেব। তাঁদের সময় পৈতৃক সম্পত্তি ভাগ হয়ে যায়। অগ্রজ রামেশ্বর পাটুলি ত্যাগ করে বাঁশবেড়িয়ায় এসে স্থায়ীভাবে বসবাস করতে শুরু করেন। বাসুদেব পাটুলিতে থেকে যান এবং জমিদারি তদারকি করার সুবিধার্থে শেওড়াফুলিতে অস্থায়ীভাবে বাস করতে থাকেন। বাসুদেবের পুত্র মনোহর শেওড়াফুলি রাজবাড়িতে পাকাপাকি ভাবে বাস শুরু করেন। তাই মনোহরকে শেওড়াফুলি রাজবংশের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা বলা যায়।

মনোহর রায় বহু দেবদেবীর বিগ্রহ প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন। বাংলা ১১৪১ সালের ১৫ ই জ্যৈষ্ঠ (১৭৩৪ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে) তিনি রাজবাড়িতে অষ্টধাতুর শ্রীশ্রী সর্বমঙ্গলা দেবীর বিগ্রহ প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন এবং তাঁর পূজা নির্বাহের জন্য বহু সম্পত্তি দেবোত্তর করে দেন। সর্বমঙ্গলার বর্তমান মন্দিরটি অনুচ্চ ভিত্তিবেদির উপর প্রতিষ্ঠিত, দক্ষিণমুখী, একটি দালান। মন্দিরে শ্রীশ্রী সর্বমঙ্গলার নিত্য পূজা ছাড়াও দুর্গা পূজার সময় বিশেষ পূজা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

এই বিগ্রহ প্রতিষ্ঠার আগে তাঁর পিতা বাসুদেব রায় এই বাড়িতে শ্রীশ্রী লক্ষ্মীজনার্দন বিগ্রহের প্রতিষ্টা করেন। মন্দিরে লক্ষ্মী-জনার্দন ছাড়াও গোবিন্দহরি-রাধিকা ও বটকৃষ্ণ নারায়ণ শিলাও নিত্য পূজিত।

রাজা মনোহর রায় রাজ বাড়িতে সর্বমঙ্গলার প্রতিষ্ঠা ছাড়াও আরও অনেক বিগ্রহ প্রতিষ্ঠা ও সেবামূলক কাজের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ছিলেন। মাহেশে শ্রীশ্রীজগন্নাথ দেবের সেবা পরিচালনার জন্য তিনি জগন্নাথপুর নামক পল্লী দেবোত্তর করে দেন। সেই জন্য স্নানযাত্রা উপলক্ষে শেওড়াফুলি রাজবাড়ি থেকে 'রাজছত্র' না পৌঁছানো পর্যন্ত ঠাকুরের স্নান আরাম্ভ হয় না। সেই প্রথা আজও চলে আসছে। বৈদ্যবাটিতে তিনি পিতামহ রাজা রাঘবেন্দ্র রায়ের স্মৃতিতে রাঘবেশ্বর শিবমন্দির প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন। উত্তরপাড়ার ভদ্রকালী' তে তিনি ভদ্রকালী মন্দির নির্মাণ করে দেন।

১১৫০ সালে তিনি পরলোক গমন করলে শুকদেব সিংহ একটি "মনোহরাষ্টক" রচনা করেন। তা থেকে জানা যায় যে তিনি প্রতিদিন ভূমি দান করতেন। ফলে শেষ জীবনে এমন অবস্থা হয়ে ছিল যে তাঁর রাজ্যে এমন কোন গ্রাম ছিল না যার অর্ধেক তিনি নিষ্কর দান করে দেন নি।

রাজা মনোহরের পুত্র রাজা রাজচন্দ্র রায় শ্রীপুরে (শ্রীরামপুরে) 'রামসীতা মন্দির' নির্মাণ করে তিন শ' বিঘা জমি জমি দেবোত্তর করে দেন। 'শ্রীপুর' বা 'শ্রীরাম' থেকেই 'শ্রীরামপুর' নামটি উদ্ভূত হয়েছে।

ভদ্রকালী (উত্তরপাড়া) দোলতলায় তিনি আর একটি রামসীতা'র মন্দির প্রাতিষ্ঠা করেন।

রাজচন্দ্রের পুত্র রাজা আনন্দচন্দ্র রায়। আনন্দচন্দ্রের পুত্র রাজা হরিশ্চন্দ্র রায় শেওড়াফুলির গঙ্গার ধারে শ্রী শ্রী নিস্তারিণী কালী মাতার মন্দির ও বিগ্রহ প্রতিষ্টা করেন।

গুপ্তিপাড়ার শ্রীরামচন্দ্রের মন্দিরও তিনি নির্মাণ করে দেন।

রাজা হরিশচন্দ্রের তিনটি বিবাহ। প্রথমা রানি সর্বমঙ্গলা দেবীর অপঘাতে মৃত্যু হয়। অপর দুই রানি হরসুন্দরী দেবী ও রাধারাণী (অন্যমতে, রাজধন দেবী) নিঃসন্তান হাওয়ায় যোগেন্দ্রচন্দ্র ও পূর্ণচন্দ্রকে দত্তক নেন। এঁরা যথাক্রমে 'বড়তরফ' ও 'ছোটতরফ' নামে পরিচিত হন। বড়তরফের রাজা যোগেন্দ্রচন্দ্র একজন সুগায়ক ছিলেন। তাঁর দুই পুত্র - ব্রজেন্দ্রচন্দ্র (স্বল্পায়ু) ও গিরীন্দ্রচন্দ্র। গিরীন্দ্রচন্দ্রের একমাত্র কন্যা নিরুপমা দেবী। রাজা গিরীন্দ্রচন্দ্রের উত্তরাধিকারী দৌহিত্র নির্মলচন্দ্র ঘোষ। তাঁর পাঁচ পুত্র - অনিল, সুনীল, সলিল, নিখিল ও সুশীল। এঁরা সকলেই বাস করতেন রাজবাড়ির বড়তরফের অংশে। সলিলচন্দ্র রাজবাড়িতে একটি সংগীত-শিক্ষা-প্রতিষ্ঠান পরিচালনা করতেন।

Situated at Sheorapuli Rajbari, it is a sarbamangala mandir ie Durga mandir.deity of maa Durga exists here which is 500 years old. Maintained by Sheorapuli Rajbari this mandir is worth visiting specially during Durga pujas for religiously inclined people.
