One of the oldest yet tastiest kachuri shop in kolkata. It's a normal sweet shop with exceptional taste. Their 'langcha' a fried sweet made of cottage cheese, suji is famous for taste and the size. It's very big in size. I don't think anyone other shops in kolkata serve that. It's a must visit whenever we visit Kalighat temple.

A sweet shop that serving us since more than 100 years, literally has a heart. It is generally famous for its Kachori, Chholar Daal and Lyangcha. We had the same and I must say it's one of the best Kachori I have had. But if you are searching for a fancy place this one is definitely not for you. This place only offers good food, nostalgia and a true essence of Kolkata.

Most unhygienic. Thousands of different types of flies and bees inside the sweet cabinets. Sweets are normal if occasional fly poop doesn’t bother you. Buy samosas in the morning, afternoon samosas are recooked leftovers from morning

I feel compelled to express my extreme disappointment with the experience I had at your establishment recently. Despite the initial excitement of trying out your age old nostalgic kachori I had on my previous visits before pandamic, I must say that my overall impression was far from positive.

Firstly, let me address the quality of the food. The kochuri that I ordered was nothing short of unhealthy. It was greasy, overly fried, and lacked any semblance of freshness. Additionally, the cholardal provided alongside it was so excessively sweetened that it became nearly inedible. It is disheartening to witness such a blatant disregard for balanced flavors and nutritious choices.

Furthermore, I found the chutney served with my meal to be utterly pathetic. Its taste was bland and lacked any hint of authenticity or effort in its preparation. This lackluster accompaniment only added to my growing disappointment.

Equally concerning was the level of hygiene observed during my visit. The overall cleanliness of the establishment left much to be desired, with unclean tables and an unpleasant odor permeating throughout. This negligence towards maintaining a clean and inviting environment is simply unacceptable.

To make matters worse, I encountered rude behavior from the manager/cashier during my visit. Their dismissive attitude towards customer queries and concerns displayed a complete lack of professionalism and respect for patrons.

I write this review not only to express my dissatisfaction but also to give you an opportunity for improvement. If you genuinely aim to grow your business, it is imperative that you address these glaring issues promptly.

I hope you take this feedback seriously and work towards rectifying these shortcomings in order to provide a better experience for your customers in the future.

The famous place for its " কচুরি আর ছোলার ডাল". However, I'm very surprised and disappointed to say the place doesn't stay up to its reputation. The quality of the food has deteriorated more than previous times. Sweets are still very good to have.
Hence 3 star.

Moral: - Go for the sweets, not anything else.

A very famous and old sweet shop at South Kolkata. Their main attraction is kochuri & cholar dal & lyangcha. Taste is just awesome

Absolutely disappointed with the present situation. Civil Structures developed a bit. But mentally they became so poor. Standard of sweets became so lower. Behavior of the shop personal are too bad.

I was passing by that street & feeling very hungry. Don't expect cleanliness, had dal - puri. The taste was okay no complains.

The kachori and cholar dal have the same taste as before. The shop has been there for generations.

This place is just heaven for misti lovers. The kochuri is just delicious and the langcha is just out of this world. Must visit!

One of the Oldest Bengali Sweet Shop in Hazra, Kolkata (opposite Bhawanipore police station) serving since 1912. It has 50 person seating capacity at a time. Famous for its Breakfast like Radhaballavi (puri) & chana Dal which is best in town.

I recommend you all to try Langcha and Mishti Doi (dahi) on your visit. Sree Hari’s Langcha is all time famous in south Kolkata.
