The Fern Residency

It's very costly for this quality of rooms. They move the tables, chairs, clean the other rooms, do the house keeping work and make noises till 2am. My sleep got disturbed and not slept till 2 am because of noises they made. My advice is don't prefer this hotel to sleep peacefully.

One of the Worst management hotel with Lazy Staff no waiting space for Check in Person Not cleaned properly, Lots of smoky of bad smells Staff r very Unprofessionals.food quality is also worst not proper revert of ur valuable money.

Really nice to stay, and the rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The hotel has a variety of amenities, including a swimming pool.

I had a terrible stay here, I have stayed in other fern hotels but this is not worth a fern.

First things first:
Check in and check out process is so long, more than 30 minutes each. There were no other person checking in that time.

Restraurant: rate chart of certain food items are hidden, don't get surprised on a long bill. Too expensive, more than 5 star hotels.

Property: rooms are not sound proof, alot of traffic noise.
Entire property is not well maintained, looks like haunted house. Smells bad. I felt suffocating staying for 1 night. Person with asthma avoid this hotel.

What's good: Security person are well mannered, really took care of our comfort. After checking out also one of them said it's hot outside please wait inside till cab arrives. I was amazed by this gesture. I wish him all the best though I don't know his name.

Went for dinner. Excellent Ambience with live music. Service and hospitality is great. Food is also very good especially the starters. Main course can improve. Overall recommended. Pocket pinch 900 including GST for buffet.
Cons - they didn't accept swiggy/Zomato discount via app as it was for buffet but for Ala carte options they do accept most online discounts. Pls call them before visit on promotional offers /discounts

Thanks for the wonderful experience in the hotel with a lot of service issues.
The hotel doesn't have a towel if you ask in the morning at 8: 30 AM.
No AC is working with me and my colleagues room.
And it's not my complaint. I was sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes.almost all the customers are complaining about different issues.
I will never stay further here.

Large room and good location. Food was also good. Good eateries near the hotel.
I still gave 2 stars less because I saw small cockroaches at the buffet counter and rooms weren't well lit. Hotel rooms need maintenance

Good Banquet Hall. Clean and spacious and a hygenic wash rooms.

Please don't book this place. Sorry I have nothing good to say about the place.
1) Entrance- Their is no proper portico or reception at the entrance. Entrance looks so cheap and just like a low cost oyo hotel.
2) Rooms- Dusty, Broken fittings and old stale environment.
3) Food- Absolutely rediciulous food. I doubt they prepare anything fresh. I suspect they feed stale foods. We had many guests who had issues after having meals of the hotel.
4) Rates and Services- Please don't expect any service from the hotel.
5) Restaurants- v small restaurant and clumsy place.

If you are booking them in a rate of 1500 per night then it's fine but anything over this rate you are getting snugged badly.

If you are looking for a place just opposite to this place their is a cheap oyo hotel called as The Raj Palace. Pls book that as it has much better food and service for 1/4th price.

I went to XII ZODIAC-THE FERN RESIDENCY with my friends for a buffet lunch in September 2021. Watching a YouTube video, I thought they will serve good food as they showed in video, but that was completely different, it was disappointing this time. And the experience we had here was terrible.
The food was stale and tasted bad from the beginning (starter). All other items were tasting like "towels".
Even, the service was super unprofessional, The person who served us, she does not know what is on their menu, there was not too many crowd but still they didn't serve us well.
And we was shocked to see one more thing,
We asked as we did not see any mutton item at the buffet table, After we asked, they said there was mutton biryani. After hearing that, we looked at each other's faces and we thought maybe that's for their special customers, and we felt very ashamed. Even in the biryani, they have used some inedible spices so that the customer cannot eat too much.
Anyway, the overall experience was horrible and never wanted to go there and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to going there.

I enjoyed my stay with good food. Only feedback, tea (if ordered) before 8am, should be served in room.

First time ever seen a hotel which claims to be "3 star", their staffs are not properly trained only how to behave in front of the guests, to be honest this hotel doesn't have any star quality.
1. C/in time being 2pm, we arrived the hotel at 1: 45pm, still we have to wait for the room. (inspite of informing them prior, the time of our arrival,)
2. Inspite of requesting for a higher floor room, we got the room in the same floor as the reception.
3. We have been provided a corner-most room, and that too right beside the public restroom.
4. The room had a very musty smell, to add on to that.
5. The most disgusting feeling that I felt was the "typical judgemental behaviour" of the staffs, especially in the reception. When you call it a couple friendly hotel and also you claim yourself to be a star property, maintain a better behaviour with all the guests, don't discriminate.
6. In the breakfast buffet there was one lady employee who very warmly wished us 'good morning' and welcomed us, when I told her my room no, another girl literally came running from the reception and told the girl to check whether I had said truth, and I "really" have breakfast as a part of my package or not. She didn't care whether we have hear that or not. Come on! No one expects that kind of ill mannered behaviour towards any guest in a "star" property.
7. Upon C/out we had to wait so that the employee can literally check the room and "approve" us to leave, is it a high end hotel or a random road side hotel?
Been to so many properties, didn't ever come across to such a disgusting service and stay! Absolutely worst! This was the first and last time I visited this The Fern Residency hotel, not gonna be there again in my entire life. And absolutely not at all recommended!
The only thing that was good was the In room Dining food quality and the service of two employees there, one lady, the name I don't know, and one gentleman, most probably named Pintoo. Those two employees made us feel better, rest all are just worst!

Good ambience with friendly staff.
Rooms are spacious, clean, with basic amenities and well maintained.
Very good facility for residential and day Conference.
Food is tasty with enough variety.

Had a great experience. I arrange my wedding reception here. The team was extremely well trained and we'll behaved. After booking and menu selection, I didn't even need to follow up with them. Every thing was arranged perfectly for the event.

Absolutely brilliant. I extended my stay in this from one day two days. This one is located in posh area so have a good access to all major malls. Hotel food specilly breakfast you will never forget in life. Awesome taste. Nic staff

Stayed here for one night in the month of January my views mentioned below: -

Location - Located close to International airport at a distance of approx. 3-4 km. Situated right on the main road and nicely built.

Rooms - Room size OK. Room had TV, centralized AC, Almira and washroom was clean had hot and cold running water. Tea and coffee maker provided in the room. Small freezer was available in the room.

Breakfast - Breakfast was excellent and had a vast spread. It had 2-3 cut fruits, 3-4 types of juices, muffins, donuts, pastry, sprouts, idly sambar, 3-4 types of dishes, dry fruits and many more. It was tasty

Over all a good stay.

Worst experience with the property, no covid protocols were followed, extremely unhygienic, poor service

It's my worst experience here. The world's slowest service for food order to house keeping. They used to day we forget what you have ordered. Washroom shower is is leaked. Smoking is now allowed anywhere we have to Go down outside the hotel. They wont give hangers for clothes the food is not good. The worst hotel in Kolkata more expensive but not value for money just a waste of money and time I will never suggest anyone to visit

We visited Fern Residency at the heat of a moment while partying. The staffs were really cordial and friendly.

The rooms ans washrooms were really well maintained and completely value for money.

Complimentary Buffet Breakfast was nice with lots of options.

Went for a wedding on 7th floor and dinner on 6th floor. It's a very decent banquet facility with good food spread and well managed. Looks modern with full use of space.

Review for stay Jan 17, room 304. Morning breakfast, horrible. 1. Ordered Dosa, however they said it would take 15-20 minutes for Tawa to heat up so can you wait? I said yes. Dosa arrived, cold.hanging in lazy mood all corners.plus horrible I could not eat. 2. Ordered tea.horrible 3. Fruits are completely Raw 4. No hot milk even I ordered 5. Breakfast is horrible.

We checked in on 18th evening. Extra Bed was Broken. Wifi was not working in Room. There staff entered in our room to put extrabed when were not in the room and steal money from my wife's Purse.

Booking done at MMT app. To begin with I was dumped in a very small room. AC being a poor starter kept me sweating for at least 15 minutes fans not installed, even a vist of maintenance guy couldn't resolve the problem. On protest receptionist changed my room to ultimately get me the comforts I wanted. Buffet diner at their 2nd floor restaurant was sumptuous and very delicious. Each dish had its own balanced taste very delicious. Next day breakfast at same restaurant well displayed variety and touch of hospitality started my day in a satisfied way. Hotel compromised on toiletries. Otherwise with MMT offers like complimentary breakfast and in addition surprisingly dinner too, coupled with well appointed room all at INR 10,700 approximately for 3 nights is a great deal. Must try property.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It doesn't look great from outside but is neat clean and welcoming inside. The room I got was spacious and clean, toilet was maintained well and the bed was comfortable. The staff right from the guard to the front desk to the room attendants were all courteous and helpful. The front desk officer Souvik and his colleague Sousma (hope I got the spellings right) were very pleasant to talk to and very helpful.
Not forgetting to mention, the food was amazing. I did not have many a meals here but the a la carte dinner and buffet, both were awesome. The breakfast platter was sumptuous as well.
And it doesn't cost a fortune either.
I would love to come back and stay in this hotel again.

I am a very frequent traveler and use to stay in hotels in different cities of the country throughout the year. The Fern is good for nothing, its a jugad hotel.it seems most of the good reviews here are fake.it starts from 2nd floor reception is AC, Lobby is without AC, U will comeout of room and will find the lobby to the lift is full of heat and smell, Rooms are very small and smelly and U will find roaches and cockroaches roaming around ur bed, staff is not at all professional and attitude is bad. Its room doesn’t worth more than 2K.

The food quality is just awesome.the place is very decorated. And the whole place is very hygienic. And the behaviour of the stuffs is very satisfying. The pocket pinch is not so much high. If you come here with your family or bae, you feel very comfortable here.
