The Golden Retreat

Rooms are ok type but high priced, abnormally high priced food, service almost government office type.

Stayed for one night on 19th June 2023. The room was full of bed bugs and got severely infected. The quality of the rooms were also not good. The walls were damped. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Booked it for cheap, rooms are supper massive we stayed in 3bhk, only thing disappointed me was their pool was off, location is good, just lighting is too dim from interior to exterior.

Restaurant is not good, just ok.
Food is just ok.
Service time, is too late.
Whshroom is not ok, even no handwash.

This is an amazing place to hangout with friends. Quality of rooms and the staffs are equally good.

I am a avid traveler and trust me this is one of the best resorts that you can find in Haldia area or infact in entire of Kolkata region. Huge open spaces, extremely large swimming pool, cozy rooms and beautiful lounge with indoor games section.you have it all

It's a very nice property, the rooms are bit old though. Swimming pool, garden is very nice. Food is bit costly. Haldia City center is adjacent building. Overall very nice stay.

Awesome place to hang out with your loved ones. A warm resturant with a terrace serves local and continental food. There's also a bar, a game room, an indoor play area available.
They offers quality rooms too surrounded by woods and Ambuja City Centre.
Additional amenities includes an outdoor swimming POol.
Staff servives are good too.

Massive property. Needs lots of maintenance. Rooms are good neat and we'll kept. Food is just average.

Excellent place, nice workers nd atmosphere, City Centre mall beside it. So superb combination.

Its a cool place quite old but has a lot of greenery and open place the rooms are also quite spacious with balcony and good food

It's a 3 star property. It's good for guests and for vacation too but the environment for vacation is not too good because nearby places noise a lot. I would recommend you for other resorts for your better vacation. It's also good for hotel staff. I wouldn't recommend any of the Industrial training condidate to apply for their IT or OJT in any type of resorts and clubs. For better understanding and knowledge in hospitality industry you can opt for commercial 5 star hotel property. Only four kind of Services provided here: - Indian, Continental, Tandoor and Pantry.

Only decent restaurant and bar in Haldia. Rest all have deteriorated to shabby bars. Your family will also enjoy the ambience. It is usually understaffed so expect a delay everytime you order, have plenty of time when you plan to visit.

Poor bath rooms, waste water does not get removed, it stays in the bath room only. Food very expensive.

It has been a great property and only upmarket one in industrial city of Haldia. Food of veg/ non veg is available and has beautiful lawns, swimming pool and bar. People are polite in staff.

I stayed with my family for two days in Feb 21, a great hotel to stay and the service is really good, highly recommend.

Staff are very helpful, cheerful & courteous and spontaneous, ambience is good for 3 star resort, it has gym, swimming pool that is clean, children's slide, swing & play area with basketball net attached, it also has a snooker table, table tennis & carom

10 of us went for food. The place is expensive, service was poor compared to the price. The food was okay. Overall, not worth it.

Although the best hotel for miles around. It is a very damp hotel due to its age I think. Food however is good and locally there is a large shopping mall with cinema next door. Staff are very friendly and has that typical Indian charm

It is a wonderful property in terms of large open spaces, huge central lobby, lots of green lawns but a bit in run down condition. Needs proper renovation. The staff is polite n helpful. It is a good place for family get together n school n college reunion

Only good hotel in Haldia. Design is as old as 80s. Restaurant is just okay with Betty limited option in breakfast

Even though it is considered one of the best hotels in Haldiya, they have very bad food. It was barely edible.very bad experience.

I enjoyed it a lot here!

A few small things to note:
- You'll need to call reception to have them turn on the hot water 45+ minutes before you use the jacuzzi.
- Ordering Lobster is actually crayfish? They didn't have any in stock, but they were so helpful that they went and purchased some!
- Bed has some springs and pillows are quite high.

This location is phenomenal to take photos at!
Massages are priced well. ‍️
The pool is clean.
Food is usually made and delivered in < 30 minutes.
The suite furniture is very heavy and high quality.

Only better hotel in Haldia. Good location and the hotel is always bustling with crowded events / weddings. Rooms are large and clean. Bit outdated though. Not bad for short stays.

Quite a nice property for a place like Haldia. Very good food and friendly service. Maintenance and gardening needs much more attention though

Only decent hotel in Haldia.they have recently refurbished the rooms and have started a live music session in the evenings.

I have been to this multiple times. This resort easily makes my top 3 places to unwind and chill.

The food here is great. The staff, extremely well mannered. I plan on getting married here.

Beautiful resort with the best staff. It has a nice kitchen and a decent bar. The swimming pool is spacious and it's a delight to spend time. Gym is acceptable. The location is nice and there are food places all around Overall it's a nice place to stay

An old and ill-maintained hotel claims to be superstar. There ain't no competition nearby, hence it is surviving.

Best place to stay in Haldia. Infact I wish to give 4.5 star. Only setback is lawn maintenance. Well connected with only best shopping center and multiplex adjacent.

It was really good ambience resort visited 2days ago with friends.a nice resort.ground floor rooms were well furnshied.bathroom is also decorated well.complimentary breakfast was good will lots of choices.swimming pool was well mainted. But when we visited children's summing pool was in maintenance.only thing that we did get was welcome drink and cookies.we would also like to visit again with friends. Food quality is good but a bit costly.

General Manager in charge of Hotel is awesome committed to best services hospitable to hotel ownership customer satisfaction Eats fo increase business and changed the hotel to excellent stage. God bless him and hotel. Staff is also excellent

Poor maintenance. Central A.c rooms do not cool properly besides there is no fan in room. Reception is not air conditioned and hence can be very hot and humid during summers. Also i found the place to be a little haunted.

The best place to stay in Haldia built to 4 star standards. Extremely well designed property with large swimming pool, garden area, a large pond and children's play area. The property is 20 years old and in some places there is wear and tear due to water seepage. But I would still rate the place very high due to the sheer size of the rooms and the overall facilities. Btw, has a very well managed restaurant with ala carte menu options for tandoori, chinese, continental and south indian selections. Food prices are however at par with any good restaurant in downtown metro cities of India.

Only 2 hours drive by car from Kolkata with easy access and car parking, decent rooms with room service, bar & swimming pool. Ideal for a weekend with fooding included in package. Otherwise a bit expensive on the fooding.
