The Oldest Hotel of Kolkata. Really great hospitality Beautiful & nostalgic. Gym, resturant, bar, swimming pool, laundry service each and everything is available. All types of Room are their with all equipments. Well furnished rooms.great view from maximum rooms
Except location advantage, this hotel is not recommended. They charge for water beyond 1 liter to the guests. Staff not well trained it seemed. Budget hotel in a prime location.
If you don’t open the door in a single bell they don’t wait & just use there master key & open the door. When we try to make complain on there front desk they don’t give the number of there GM also.
Worst service in lifetime Arrogant staff Pathetic food Dirty rooms with hu uman hairs, used tissues, dirty mattress and pillows and stinky smell everywhere They will ask you to use service elevator to commute to your room
Terrible place. Horrifying experience. Such a dirty hotel and dirty attitude of staff. No one cares to keep the premises clean. God bless the ones who chooses to stay here.
Strictly average hotel, with higher rates because of being close to Park Street probably. Positives are good food and great water pressure in the shower. Lol.
Do not book if you are intolerant of the smell of cigarette smoke.
I'm frequently staying on this hotel since many months. Hotel need to work on its cleanliness, food taste. Smell of alcohol in the barandas is irritating and they should work on these.
All guest services like pool, gym are blocked for exclusive corp guests and no intimation given prior to booking, service is very average and breakfast lacks options. Toaster doesn't work and staff is clueless. Wouldn't recommend the stay till end of football ihero tournament then maybe other guests will be treated better.
Comparing to other hotels there hospitality is not good. The parking area, parking staffs and securities were not upto the mark. They behaved in a rude way. But after checking in the hotel it was well maintained. But I didn't felt such satisfaction. I would say a top rated oyo is better than this hotel.
During our initial check in the first allotted room smelled like smoke, we requested the front desk and they upgraded us to a new room. Rooms are decent and the break fast is good. Corridor has a bit smoke smell apart from that this hotel can be considered as a decent stay. We had troubles with wifi network connection. If you are some one preferring to work from the hotel you need to keep this in mind
One of the best hotels in Kolkata for a family holiday or chilling out with friends. They have the best food, great ambience and very cordial staffs. I had the best time ever.
One of the most oldest and trusted and caring property of Kolkata. No compromise on Quality, Services, Customer Satisfaction, Food, Ambience, Cleanliness, Comfort, Amenities, Etiquette, and what not, a guest would expect. Value For Money. Very caring for Kids. This adds Feathers on Oberoi Cap. 5 And Above
The only good thing about this property was it's Location. Cons- 1) Rooms rates are too high as compared to the rooms and amenities. 2) Rooms need Renovation. 3) MANAGEMENT need to know that other guests are also there prime customer as there 40 rooms are booked by some football team they are treating other guest horribly.like other guest need to use service lift which stinks so badly.no access to main lift. We have to go restaurant from back door where washing and all was going which I have never experienced anywhere else. 4) complementary Breakfast was horribly.need to improve. 5) restaurant staff need to be polite and hospitality was missing as while we were having our breakfast they were like please do fast we are removing the buffet. My humble suggestion to MANAGEMENT kindly close all booking of other guest as you cannot provide the hospitality and it will make a poor stay and experience for other guest because your hotel is booked for 3 months for football team
It is always grand to be at the GRAND, Kolkata. The majestic edifice with the founder's bust at the entrance. Extremely demeanor-ed staff who make you feel yourself a princely guest. I will love to be there again.
Excellent hospitality. Very polite and knowledgeable staff members. Breakfast is just awesome. Hotel is located at centre of Kolkata, but the location is very congested. Swimming pool is bit small. It's nice to sit around swimming pool and have food. Hotel services are good. Room service was always done on time perfectly. Nice ambience. It's lifetime experience.
It was a family occasion we were attending. Hotel's location bis very prime. Reception and lobby is huge. Checkin is smooth. Rooms are big and cozy. I gave one less star because of the beddings, those were not sparkling clean. It seems like being washed and used for long. It must be changed regularly to maintain the standard. Towels were not of very good quality and they provide less than what should be present at room before moving in. We called reception and it was sent promptly but these the NGS should be cheked before handing over the keys. As a guest I don't like to bother the receptionist so much. Breakfast was good but the menu can be enhanced. I don't know if the items change every day. On my day we had less continental items but whatever served was fresh and tasty. Will come back again.
Good location. Great staff. Everyone is very kind, starting from those who help with your luggage, front desk, room service, to those in the restaurant.
The facility though can be better. The room wasn't clean and the bed/sheets were not as clean as you'd expect. Similarly, the breakfast was just about average.
Hospitality is of A+ level.very polite humble and caring.amenities are ofc best since it's a heritage hotel.covid protocols are maintained on a very serious note.staff bondings are not so well though.overall a guest will get a comfy home like stay with TOGC
We visited Baan Thai on the Christmas eve The food & service was good as expected of a star hotel of repute. The appetizer and main course was good. However do stay away from the desserts if one is not having a severe craving for sweets. Tub tim samsee was seriously disappointing
Offcourse the pocket pinch was high considering there was a minimum cover charge for each person.
Very few hotels come even close to the hospitality by Oberoi. The level of attention to detail and going out of way to make your stay great is what each employee is trained for.and it doesn't seem forced.the training is that good. Their breakfast was the best inhave had in any hotel. Egg station is normally something that we take for granted.but Oberoi has raised to an art that is truly gourmet in execution. The best french toast and the most awesome egg Benedict ever tasted by me. Hats off to the chefs. Srishti from housekeeping kept a brand new toothpaste for me of my brand (big pack) since my small was running out. Completely free and with a note to boot. Seldom do you find such attention to detail and eagerness to delight. Well done team Oberoi.you have my love and admiration.
Top notch hospitality in Kolkata, one of the best five-star hotels of india ; one must try Chowringee and Babughat in their cocktail menu and also strawberry milkshake (but remember anything and everything they make is excellent), for me those are the ones that stood apart
Lavish interiors, good staff, excellent behaviour. It's a little on the expensive side so do mind that. But it will be a complete experience for everyone visiting.
Honestly i had huge expectations.let me start with entrance.it is decent.snd decent reception area.frount desk people are warm.and smiling. Food is also good. 363 restaurant is good.food is really tasty
And staff really cares each amd every guests.
But lift is old.which goves you feel of lodge.and rooms too are not so great.they really need quick make over.bathroom last day hot water was serios issue
Our stay was 5 star plus. The staff was amazing! Not just the front desk but each and every staff member. Excellent service! Food was great and room was beautiful. Highly recommended this hotel.
It started off on a note when mid-week I was getting fried at work and I am let down by someone close to my team. We decided to take a staycation at the most iconic place in Kolkata, The Grand Hotel, Owned by the Oberoi group. While we didn't really start off on the note of excellence the hospitality and the love of the very people managing this property are the real reason why my fam and I had the best Diwali we could ever have, with one man down (my father) this year. I need to call out that Anna, Ankit Saha, the entire team at Oberoi, who interacted with me and my mum. I am forever grateful for them for giving us the opportunity to feel like a child and get papered by them at every step of the way. I will remember this trip forever and hope to do this again sometime soon.
I went with my family and I must say that I made the right decision to step into The Oberoi Grand, we had the best experience that we can imagine. The staffs, senior management each and every person are very well behaved, the food quality, taste everything was just awesome.
Fabulous place with an authentic Calcutta heritage which reflects vividly off of the elegant colour of the walls right up to the royal style of living, truly defining uniqueness. Lives up to the Grand name!
The Oberoi Grand Hotel in Kolkata has been like my home especially over the past year, which has been difficult for all of us. I have stayed over very many times and also found it one of the safest and most hygienic places to celebrate a few family occasions in the middle of the pandemic too. The hospitality, personal care and looking after were one of my best experiences. I would recommend everyone to visit this beautiful hotel. I have stayed with this chain of hotels in Kolkata and also in Delhi, a brilliant experience. Special mention for Shivani, who was based in Kolkata at the time, Kaushiki as well, Aaron and each and every member. Grateful for your excellent service!
It is a 5 star hotel located in Esplanade on the Chowringhee square.most of vvips stay here as it is one of the best and luxurious hotel of this city.many celebrities and politicians come here.the hotel building is old but looks really awesome.
This is a 3rd class hotel. We stayed here only because it was close to the market area as we had come for wedding shopping. The night duty manager Mr. Sankha Ghosh is very very unprofessional. We handed the room keys to the reception people everyday before going out and said them specifically Please get our room cleaned before we come at night. 2 times our room wasn’t uncleaned on asking the manager Mr. Ghosh told us it’s our fault means it’s guest’s fault. Look at the audacity he has. The reception manager didn’t coordinate with thr house keeping for room cleaning and Mr ghosh has said that its our fault cuz other rooms are getting cleaned everyday and ours is not. He has also said house keeping comes in the morning to clean and we send them off saying that clean later. Look at the managers audacity. Ofcourse we will tell the housekeeping to clean the room later if we are inside the room doing our morning essentials. It’s their duty to get the room cleaned once we have handed the room keys to the reception saying that get the room cleaned. The staffs the entire management is hopeless and also Mr. Suman Saha was initially talking politely later he also was very very arrogant. He told us don’t shout at us. Do whatever you want to do. I told give the money back. He told we will nlt refund single money. Don’t shout here go to your room. The way this both spoke to us was very unprofessional and they should not keep such managers in a hotel. They have no hospitality. They are uneducated uncivilised people to talk to guests like this. I think some action must and surely should be taken against Mr. Ghosh and Mr Suman Saha.
The reviews posted are not matching with my experience, they demand more clothes for stitching compare to other tailors, they were compeling me whip length as per thier choice.so I refused to stitch my trouser from thier shop.
I can say in one word that my stay from 22nd Oct 21 till 27th oct 21 was excellent at The Oberoi Grand Kolkata. The staffs are excellent, the ambience is great, foods are good, rooms are very clean and are well maintained, security was very good and I loved every bit of my stay and definitely would like to visit again.
Rooms are really good amenities present are also very nice all the facilities are soo fast everything is sooo nice premjit a intern in front office really helped me a lot ️️️thank you soo much will visit soon ️

We ate at ban Thai. The service was great. The food was amazing. Ideally ask your server for recommendations. We tried two new things. The steam fish on coriander broth and a mix Chinese vegetables in soy garlic sauce. Both were exceptional. Their yellow Thai curry is made from scratch in house and another lovely dish. We had multiple things and all were very good.
Have to be little biased while writing review for this place. As a middle class Bengali, who grew up in 90s, this hotel used to be last word for class in Kolkata. Taj was a new kid on the block at that time and Great Eastern on the wane. In mid 40s, having lived in a few countries abroad, i have seen a better place for sure, but this visit to Grand would remain close to my heart. I wont lie, felt a little intimidated as well. Staffs were polite would be an understatement. Iconic poolside was awesome. We tried mostly Anglo Indian cuisine, something which matches our tastebud. Overall, a memorable experience
Wonderful place to stay at while in Kolkata. The staff is very friendly and professional. Lot of renovation done to keep up with times maintaining the royal Victorian architecture. Awesome food and the breakfast spread is just too good to miss. The best thing about the hotel is their staff. Looking forward to stay there whenever I visit the city again.
The Grand Hotel, now known as the Oberoi Grand, is situated in the heart of Kolkata on Chowringhee Road. It is an elegant building of British era and is a famous building in Kolkata. The hotel is owned by Oberoi chain of hotels. The hotel features a large white building covering an entire block, colonnaded verandahs and balconies on the upper floors, projecting portico for the entire length of the block supported on paired columns with Ionic capitals, and stucco ornamentation in the facade.
I went for our Anniversary dinner with my better half at 363.the pool side table arrangement was fabulous.the two wonderful gentle men Sourav and Debdut took care of everything.thanks to them we had a perfect candle light dinner
The Oberoi Grand is staffed by an young and energetic staff, which makes their hospitality very warm and genuine. Their restaurants obviously has very good food but lookout for the following people for exceptional service. Khitish the steward in Ban Thai. Doma and Muskan in ThreeSixtyThree. Also for any food related help Chef Anna in ThreeSixtyThree. Grand is grand on its own, but if you come across the above people your visit and stay will become memorable!
The best tailored and best fitting suits that I have ever worn have been stiched by them. Very well behaved and knowledgeable. Probably amongst the top tailors in kolkata or rather the entire eastern zone.highly recommended. No parking nearby but they have arranged parking near the post office.u can use that. Must try
Stayed here for 5nights but never got bored of it.best part about it was the breakfast almost tried all cuisines none of them disappointed me The room was so comfy that I didn't feel like leaving, Polite and sweet staff Overall it's a royal experience everyone must experience once in their life
I visited this Hotel to sit for my IELTS Speaking test. This is a decorated and clean hotel with well-shaped structure. There were 3 receptionists at the reception.
Pros: Restaurant, location, courteous staff, spacious room Cons: room had leaking AC which was not fixed, old or broken switches, damaged phone, and worn-out sheets, towels made using them very uncomfortable
They can't give drinking water. Called 9 he said call 122 called 122 he said call 155 called 155 he said call 122. And all of them were rude. Such is how they treat customers. I was willing to pay money for water but was not provided in this pathetic hotel. Please come to this hotel and enjoy their pathetic service. This is my first and last time.
Every thing very Grand But when you step out of the hotel you feel the filth Some measures should be taken to bring back the grandeur of it's surrounding I remember, as a child when I used to visit this hotel, the pavement and the surrounding used to be SO CLEAN.
Great hospitality, the cheers to chef shumendu! Loved the tour given by the very entertaining and knowledgeable Amitava Sarkar. The pool was clean and safe with Saurav looking over us.can't wait to visit again:)
Hotel name name is The Oberoi Grand. A fantastic hotel with a lot of history behind it.
A lot of what you pay for in these types of hotels is the hotel facilities such as pool, gym, lounge area - all of which were awesome.
The only thing that I didn't like was the small bathroom but I understand that being a heritage property they're not allowed to make major alterations.
I'd also have liked to be able to open my window which they have nailed shut for some reason. I now regret not paying extra for the balcony rooms overlooking the pool.
All staff from front desk to restaurant to pool to housekeeping were extremely professional and friendly. They've clearly had the best training in hospitality.
The hotel have a policy of not tipping individual staff members but instead, if you wish, you can leave money in box at reception that is distributed between all staff. This takes a lot of awkwardness away when interacting with the staff. You know that if someone is going out of their way to assist you that they're doing it genuinely rather than trying to extract money from you.
Receptionist are not welcoming. I visited the place for my IELTS speaking exam and the receptionist were not polite and welcoming. Just because I didn't get any business for them doesn't mean they shouldn't be polite.
Park Prime hotel was really neat and clean and a well maintained and well behaved staff gave me a warm welcome when I entered. Then the room in which I gave the exam was well light and was very well maintained too. Thank you to the staffs. The examiner was really polite and she was very nice.
What to share basicali these got there job cause local party influence. Called up from Ahmedabad to speak to H.r. And the receptionist M/s Priyanka don't allow me to speak to after called up the head there also same issue.if this is cover I don't what is the inside of the book. Be careful while coming to this place. May these people snach some valuable of yours. After all these people having any fear to administration may be they taught these behaviour. Also surprised how could owner retain these people.
Nice mall with a wonderful restaurant with awesome food. You will also find the structure of the building very attractive as it has that cool look among the other buildings around it. The hospitality was also nice.
It is a good hotel for a business traveler. Location is excellent. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. However, in my room there was water dripping from the air conditioner which was a nuisance. Food is just OK.
Called multiple time, no response. Every time representatives picked up phone and told will call after sometime. But even after 5 hrs also no get back. Very unprofessional, don't go for this
I had a very good stay at Park Prime. Very nice location. The rooms were nicely kept and the staff was very well mannered. The food was also very tasty.
Location is superb and nearby to all our visiting destinations. This is a 4 star property and very neat and clean rooms with good quality foods though we had taken very few due to our tour itinerary. It is situated in the heart of the city of Kolkata. Service quality is excellent. Decor and exterior are very good with all the modern amenities. Slightly over budget but we had enjoyed our 4 nights stay very well. Strongly recommend for family stay.
One of the worst places we had to stay in. We reached at around 10.30 and had booked and paid for the room through make my trip. So first the entrance was really weird and had all the negative vibes. To top that there was no one to receive us. And the receptionist was shouting at 1 person. No one to show us room either. And finally after all this drama we reached our room. It was fine. We had to leave early in morning (like 3 AM) so we thought we will eat and sleep early. We ordered as soon as we got the chance. It was around 8.30.we just ordered chapatis and dal, assuming it won't take much long. We waiting for 1 and half hours, and called them to ask how much more time. They said it's almost ready, 5 more mins. So we waiting another half hour. Called again how much more time, they said still preparing. It seems they had forgotten or I don't know what they were trying to do. They lied for another half hour 45 mins. It was so frustrating. We had been traveling since morning and this is what happened at the hotel. Worst experience ever. We complained to make my trip, but no reply.
Previously called Chrome Hotels. Rooms are quite small, suitable only for single occupancy. Front Service Desk can be improved. At the same rates, better rooms & ambience can be availed in nearby Hotels.
Location is good. Rooms are small but clean.no issue at all except the rate.it should be a bit cheaper. Costly as compared to other hotels of same standard.
Had a really bad experience with this hotel, the room service is pathetic and staff is not courteous, they said it will take 30 mins for room service, they won't pick phones after multiple calls it took almost 2 hrs to provide just Dal Tadka and Roti. Never coming back here ever again.
I wish I could give zero stars, terrible hotel for families. - they allowed to book the room for 4, including 2 kids and allotted such a small room with a bed which is not even queen size and then asked extra money for extra bed. - on top of that 2 people said 2 diff rates, one said 1000 another 1500 for extra bed. - provided one towel. Refrigerator never worked - our child was sick and we were stuck in hotel. They refused to reheat the pizza slice that we bought from hotel
Service of staff is super, location superb for business trip, but room and toilets are comparatively small.food is tasty but spread is minimum both for break fast and buffet dinner, value for money 7/10
It's beautiful. The hotel itself is wow & I would suggest it to the others as well. Bieng a 6 Star Hotel you can expect anything less than the best services.
The hotel is iconic, with its oldish styles. Very clean, elegant, quiet and contemporary, best possible location if you want the varied flavour of Kolkata or West Bengal.
Really beautiful place in Kolkata. For the restaurant do remember to maintain a proper dress code as shorts, indecent formals and also sandals or chappals aren't allowed. Formal would be best!
The hotel is beautiful.colonial architecture is simply gorgeous.staffs are courteous and helpful.food is awesome.one of the best hotels of kolkata.good banquet and buffet arrangement.
The ambience, as always, transports one to the golden yesteryears. It is always lovely to come back to this beautiful hotel at the heart of the city. You can shut out the hustle and bustle of the city the moment you step inside this majestic building.
What makes this hotel so good? The staff and their response.as an example we were booked in a room which had some paint smell.we asked for another.and they gave us an executive suite! Excellent feeling when u stay
In hospitality Oberoi Grand kolkata is Great. Specially breakfast is superb. The Staffs in 363 restuarant during breakfast really takes care of the boarder. Their attitude is very friendly. Room Service is excellent. Thai food is really good.
Nice interior with royal ethnic touch. Good banquet n buffet arrangements. V good for corporate meet. Centre of Calcutta. Can access metro. All shopping n site visit at walkable distance. Victoria palace, indian museum n birla planetarium near by.
Grand Hotel. Honestly. What a fabulous hotel! An embracing pool of tranquility in an exciting, chaotic and exceptionally busy city. The hotel is ideally across the road from the main bus station (useful for directing a taxi from the airport ~ don’t bother with the bus if you are staying here). Other attractions (Indian Museum, Park Street, Maiden) are an easy walk or an inexpensive city taxi ride away.
This is an old heritage structure from the beginning of 1900 and was known as the Grand Hotel until it taken over by the Oberoi Group and was renamed a the Oberoi Grand. One of most prestigious 5 star hotel of the city having all kinds of amenities that a luxury hotels can offer. Excellent dinning halls and banquets, modern discotheques, bars, restaurants, swimming pool, games room, spa and sauna, you name it and you can have it. They will organise gala weddings at customers requests. Extremely well maintained and expensive as it should be, services are particularly of very high standards.
We came to The Grand Oberoi for lunch. This is the old grand dame of hotels in Kolkata. It is really "Grand", as the name says. The hotel has operated since the late 1800s. It is a beautifully designed architectural creation. Has character and a nice presence.
There were three restaurants open at the time when we came for lunch.
A Thai restaurant, "363" and a Bengali restsurant. "363" was the most popular. It is a buffet restaurant and it was full. We selected the "363".
We were offered seats in the nice lounge attached to "363", to wait and have drinks before a table became available.
Soon we got our table. The restaurant had several stations offering appetizers, the main course and desserts. Each had several options.
The food was delicious, the ambience grand and the service superb. It certainly was a very enjoyable experience.
The service is absolutely superb you will be impressed by their service. If you are willing to have some good time with your family or loved ones.the ambience of their dinning will just impress you. The prices of the food are little costly but worth the price.
One of the oldest and best hotel in kolkata with good ambience and centrally located. But the foods are not up to the mark comparing with other services
Five star hotel. One of the most searched landmarks in Esplanade area. Easily visible & accessible in Esplanade area. The entry for guests is in the front side i.e, in J L Nehru road side. Only problem is that there is a local clothing market below is, that is why it's so noisy during busy hours as all the shops tend to shout continuously!
Love the food and service at their cafe three sixty three. If you do a prior booking and inform them about the event that you are celebrating they go out of their way to make it special
Very good service by staff. Hotel is located at Central location. Hotel architecture is beautiful combination of modern touches & old world charm. There are 2 major restaurants. Food menu had been extensive & chefs were happy to make designer dishes. Gym, sauna, swimming pool & many other health facilities are available. Rooms are spacious & suits are grand. Wonderful experience!
