The must visit place from Darjeeling. Yes it's tough to get up very early in the chilling weather but it worths. The view of kanchenjunga in the time of sunrise like melting gold. Mesmerizing! Try to start little early as the parking issue is there if late have to walk a lot. And the crowd is always there so you start early you will get front spaces which will help to see the view clear.

Can't imagine about the early morning beauty of this place. Once you visit darjeeling, don't miss this place.

It's a beautiful experience. But the place is packed beyond imagination. Sun rises at 6 but you need to go at 4 am so that driver can get to park at the nearest location from the point

Lamhatta Park one of the famous spot in darjeeling. Opening timing is 10 am closing time is 4.30 pm. Every day open. Ticket price for entry is 15 rupees per head. Lamhatta basically a pine forest n whenever you'll go to uper side you'll get a water body. Where you can capture fantastic shot. Nice area. You can spend time with your family.

Just WOW. The atmosphere there is scintillating and it’s quite cold. If you are lucky you will see nature at its full beauty

The view was surreal. The sunrise was best view and the reflection of the sun on "The Kanchenjunga" was brilliant. The mountains were clearly visible. The climb was worth it.

I am from Sikkim. For me all mountains are same.so there should be something unique about a place.for darjeeling, tiger hill view point and toy train are the 2 things I recommend people should visit and experience. I was at this place when the it was cloudy, but still I saw clear sunrise and then the Kanchenjunga mountains. I had to woke up at 4 in morning but a total worth visiting here.

What an experience.looking at K2 peak watching it changing its colour from white to orange when the first ray of sun falls on the top of the hill was just out of the world.nature's charisma also the sunrise was magical

Good panaromic view of sunrise at Kanchenjunga - depending on the weather conditions and cloud cover.

Cons:
Too crowded and you have to struggle to find your spot. The crowd needs to be better managed.
Have to wake early 4 AM to reach the observatory

Overall: I feel its overhyped and not worth the pain to wake up so early and travel so far early morning, especially if you have visited Nathu La or Pelling which offer equally good views.

Beautiful view of sunrise I have ever seen and the beauty of sleeping monk (Kanchanjungha) is just indescribable.

Grt. It's very nice place. Early morning one can go to this place. 2 ways to reach there. Either go on foot by trekking or hire a vehicle. For hiring the vehicle one has to take permission from Darjeeling. Usually the taxi owners managed this. It's just 5 km distance from ghum and charges are very high starting from 1000 and above. Although I choose to trek up to top but it's not at all advisable as the entire path is full of vehicle and full of pollution. If u r going on foot you have to take ticket at forest counter on the way. Once you reach there u can have look of everest, three sisters, sleeping Buddha and kanchanjunga hills from there.
It's beautiful place. Locals there you will find hot fresh coffee at nominal amount of 20 rupees. Nearby you can visit the temple as well around 100 metres from there and enjoy tea and few snacks at the nearby shop. A must visit place.

This is the best place to witness sunrise in India. The sun here provides glimpses of various colours. At one point you will realise that it is rotating at good speed. It even gives glimpses of pink, orange and blue clours. At the time of sunrise you can even get a glimpse of Kanchenjunga in Sikkim. Climate is cold out here, so dont forget to carry jacket with you. If you are not carrying jacket many shopkeepers are selling jacket at nominal price here. So enjoy sunrise

Place is good for viewing the sunrise. Although we couldn't see due to bad weather. A raised concrete platform under construction may spoil its natural beauty.

Tiger hill is the highest point 2600m altitude in Darjeeling and the best time to visit here is in the morning sunrise. The sunlight reflects the snow covered Kanchanjunga mountain and shows beautiful orange n red color. They are constructing multi floor viewpoints here.

Unique place to visit but you need your luck and appropriate time too. Once you are blessed with, you will come back with a life time memory of Kanchenjungha.
Till you are getting try coming to Tiger Hill again and again. I had been to that place at least 7/8 times, luck has blessed only once.
Never loose your nerve, surroundings of this place (The sanctuary) is also interesting, you will find Fauna and Floora of tropical Himalayan climate above 8000 feet, Interesting? Get photography, be imagenitive of camera angles, you will be praised for your talent. But sincere advice don't, carry you waste to your hotel for proper disposing.

What a beautiful place to see sunrise. Reach there around 4: 30 in the morning had a cup of coffee and take a beautiful glimpse of sun rise with gold kanchanjeunga.

We were unable to see the mountains during the sun rise because of the could and fog. But still the place was amazing and yet there is more need in development in terms of infrastructure.

Freezing and chilly so come packed. Coffee sellers plenty abound for 10 rupees per cup. No safety, no railings. Plenty of traffic. The view is worth it. Kanchenjunga is mesmerizing as well. There is no entry fee.

Words are not enough to express my experience in tiger hill. It was December and we had to wake up 3.30 am to enjoy the Sunrise in tiger hill. More than 3k people also joined with us. A festive mode was prevailed there. During Sunrise we also enjoyed the beautiful view of Kanchenjunga. Really the scenic beauty of nature on that moment is not expressed in word.

No management at tiger hill, so much crowd, no arrangement for parking of vehicles, have to walk so long as all vehicles are parked on the road. After taking so much toil and after reaching at the observation point many do not find a place to see sun rising. Mismanagement has made this beautiful place a useless one.

There is nothing at this place, it's just a flat land without any railings or fences. And this place is the major tourist attraction and hence even at 5 in the morning it's jammed packed with people. Also there is no proper parking or vehicle management and hence when u want to leave u can be stuck in traffic for nearly 30+ mins
The only thing good is the view from there where there's a sunrise on one side and the kanchanjangas golden peak on the other

The horizon was getting brighter and pinker with each minute as I looked out through the windshield. It's a magical moment when the sun kissed the mountains.
To watch the dawn light break over a spectacular stretch of Himalayan horizon, including Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8501m) and Makalu (8475m) to the far west, rise as early as possible (3AM) and take a car out to Tiger Hill, 11km south of Darjeeling, above Ghum. The skyline is dominated by Kanchenjungha, India’s highest peak and the third-highest peak in the world. It is famous for the amazingly beautiful view of the Mt. Everest and specially Mt. Kanchenjunga.

Magnificent spot to watch sunrise. You can see the sun rise, shine on Khanchendchunga peak, from dark turned golden then turning into silver!

Anyhow, the space are limited with huge crowd. Better come early for better spot.

A very chance of seeing a sun there at 5 in the morning but you can go there to see the crowd or you can say fools who came out at 5 in the morning just like you to see the sunrise, summer vacation is the better time rather than going in winter.

Awesome place to visit if you are in tour of darjelling. We were able to see the sun rising through beyond the hills of Darjeeling. The sun looked like an egg reddish in color rising out of those clouds, as it was a bit cloudy that day there. Though we were not able to view it clear but I'd say it's a place worth visiting to. You can even watch the change in the colour of the Mt. Kanchenjunga towards the west by the sunrise. If you're thinking of watching the sun rising through hills, go ahead and experience it with your naked eyes.

The view from here is quite awesome.no words can explain.we reached very early in d morning at 04: 30 hr. Sun rises at nearly 6: 00 hr.but the scene of kanchanjunga before the sun rise is awesome.the peaks of kanchanjunga and other high altitude peaks turn golden before 10 minutes to sun rise.tiger hill is the highest peak of Darjeeling and kanchanjunga is d highest peak of India.

Tiger hill is known for it's panoramic view of Kanchenjunga range and the Breathtaking effects of sunrise on it. The place is extremely crowded. You must reach prior enough else you would be stuck in traffic far before the location. Some huge construction is going on in terms of an observatory. It is one of the must visit place for tourists in Darjeeling.

The views were great, but i was unlucky to witness bad weather, lot of clouds and therefore couldn't spot kanchenjunga. The worst part was too much of crowd. Complete bunch of Darjeeling tourists on that particular day, aggregate here perhaps to have a sight of the sunrise. I did spot the snow laden peaks of kanchenjunga on my way back to Darjeeling, so I'm not sure how much better would it look from tiger hill. Overall, not much of a great experience, but still beautiful as compared to any other flat land sunrise.

View point is very filthy, do check the weather before going, if it's cloudy you won't be able to see sunrise and no hotel staff or agent will tell you this.

The highest place in darjeeling and people can see lots of important places of from here.its almost 11km nearby darjeeling.i think this is the most visited place in darjeeling.but nothing that much has done foe this place.the observation tower is still under construction.you need to reach that place very early in the morning not only to see the spectacular sunrise and Kanchanjangha view but also to avoid the traffic on that time.warm clothing is must for avoid the cold.when there is clear sky you will find the sun ray hit the Kanchanjangha and the hill turns red.and this is the life time experience for someone.thats a mesmerizing moment.

Thw first place to visit in darjeeling, its like starting your morning with chocolate, if you like chocolates.you can see the stunning golden view of kanchanjungha range and the sunrise together.you will be above cloud level, the observatory is under construction.i will advice everyone to go there as early as 4am.as it get really crowdy making it hard to find a suitable spot.there are small street shops selling warm cloths, some local women selling coffee also.best season to go is from april to may, and october november, in winter you will not see anything due to fog, Overall its a beautiful place to start.

This place is really amazing. On the top of tiger hill you will get 8482 feet of elevation. This place is mostly known for it's prettiest view of kanchanjangha during sun rise. But, you can visit tiger hill during day time also. I have heard that, during evening time you may spot some wild animals on the way to tiger hill. On the other hand, this place is very chaotic during sun rise. So, be prepared to face huge crowd. You can enjoy nice ready made coffee for 10 rupees even at 4 am.
