Tonglu Trekker's Hut

It was a good experience staying here. We booked gta trekker homestay which is just behind the main lodge. The one advantage of staying there was we got a charging point. Where if you stay in main hut there is only charging point in the kitchen, and they charge around 30rs for charging your gadgets.
Food was nice. We got bread omlette in breakfast, rice daal sabzi and egg/chicken in lunch and dinner. Also snacks in the evening.
Too many cattle and insects around. You have to be cautious about the insects, specifically in the morning.
Booze is also available here but only beer and old monk.
Overall it was a nice experience. The people taking care of the hut were also nice.

One of the best places to stay at tonglu food is great and glimpse of Mt Kanchanjangha from this place is mesmerizing

It's a nice hut location is fantastic.it's a gta hut so please don't expect too much from it.everything is good but I have a serious issue about their toilet.toilet is too small and not hygienic at all.

Location is excellent.service is so so.almost no electricity.the major problem is that at night room temperature and outside temperature are same.so overall mixed.the toilet is shared and not hygienic at all.

The food was very delicious. The behaviour of the homestay owner is really good. The condition of the room is also good. From the homestay we can clearly view of the sleeping buddha. Overall good experience.

Rooms and linen was quite good. No room heater available. Mobile charging available at INR 30 per mobile. Food was good, bit costly though.
Location is excellent and far better than any stay of Tumling.

Place is absolutely beautiful in terms of natural views.
But I think they can maintain the bathroom and beds well.

My second home. View, peace, nature, kanchanjungha, sunrise, sunset everything is superb. Just visit 1time and then you love this place.

Rooms are big and spacious, all are dormitory types. We got a five bedded room for 2 people just because very few people booked it on that day. It will cost 400 per bed. You have to book it by reaching physically in Saltlake Gorkha Bhaban and pay in advance. Hut's caretaker also provide food, hot water and drinking water although the rates are little high. But it seems okay at the altitude of 3070 mtr. The location is exceptionally good probably the best in whole Sandakhphu hill. You can enjoy the mesmerizing view of mighty Kanchanjaungha.

Cons-
1. The bathrooms are common and do not have running water.
2. Only one small bulb available in per room. Also there is no charging point.

From room's window you can see sleeping buddha
From its open yard you can also see kanchanjungha, Sikkim & Darjeeling.

Rooms are good, toilet is not attached and small also. No waterline to toilets, one need to carry water too. Food was good and view from room is fantastic
