It was our first visit to Darjeeling and the stay on this particular property had make our vacation magnificent would love to visit again I would really love to highlight the name of the staff Mr Pranesh Rai for making our stay wonderful the services are excellent and delicious food which makes the stay perfect thank you the everyone for providing the excellent hospitality services hospital

Jay Shri Krishna everyone it wasn't very magnificent mesmerizing feeling for us to be here at Udaan dekling hotel and resort Darjeeling this was our honeymoon and we had really enjoy it the Ambience of the property the food and specially their services they had organised a wonderful candle light dinner to make our honeymoon more beautiful and lovely would love to thanks Mr Pranesh Rai for his wonderful hospitality service we really love his singing which had maked the stay more fantastic

Our stay at dekeiling resort has been realy memorable. We liked the food very much. The courtes staff served us very humblly. The buffet has a good verities and it was really delicious. I would like to mention Mr. Anuj, manager-sonam, with his team members Dinesh, suja and Lila. We like the decorum of this resort very much

Worst experience ever.
Food quality extremely bad.
Insect found in soup.
Stone found in rice.

I complaint Lakpa incharge supervisor about it and he doesn't care at all.

He don't even look at us and listen.

Lakpa is the worst incharge superior I met in my life.

We are 11 people in a group. Booked 5 rooms. We are from Gujarat.

Best resort in entire Darjeeling and hilly regions. Thank you Udaan Dekeling team esp. Mr. Asif, Lakpa, Gyalchen and Pravin (Front Ofiice Team) for making our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended and will surely visit next time.

Our stay at udaan dekelin resort was excellent.we stayed there for 2 days and and yes we can say that food and services out there was beyond expectation.the buffer breakfast was well spread with lot of varieties and it was delicious.i would like to mention few names-Anuj, sonam, jugal, sangeeeta and other restaurant staff. The room are cosy and view from the hotel is pleasant.thank you we will recommend to our friends and family.

Overall it was ok-ok experience with this hotel. Good part is it's location and services from staff.
Need to improve in restaurant - food taste was not upto mark compared to other udaan hotels which we visited recently.
Also need to improve in rooms. We were in British rooms. Many things in room needed to improve and change. One important thing is geyser to change.

Very nice place to stay in Darjeeling.
You will get one of the best view of the town and Kanchanjanga for sure from here.
Its lil far from the Mall, near about 20mins walk.
Overall nice service.
Best USP is the view and the lounge area.

Please don't go by the name of rooms (premium view room) and ensure you get a right view room. We were given one room at reception/enterance (too much noisy as people/staff movement bothered whole night) and second room had a corridor for guest/staff movement to other rooms (so one cann't enjoy view with the curtain open). With lot of efforts, the room was changed on our second day of stay. No point on having a free breakfast for kids below 5 year. You will be charged if you want to have milk for your toddler in room or even if you would like to pick it from the restaurant. View is amazing from hotel.

Loved it. Amazing stay experienced we had here.food weather and people was so good.it was comforting, relaxing, felt close to the nature!

One of my best stays in Darjeeling till date. Peaceful, less crowded place with excellent, efficient, cooperative, well behaved staffs and really they have tried their best to maintain the heritage tag. Journey to the mall is a bit hectic as as time of return to the resort u have to climb uphill and its a bit tough for outsider. Or else u can take cab from mall to the resort and the costing varies from 200-300 depending upon the time. And most importantly its a veg hotel. No non veg available here. But u can order non veg food from swiggy and can have it in your room. For vegetarians, their veg cuisine is mouth watering. But we opted to go to mall everyday for dinner. We loved the walk. And again u can't smoke in the room. Inspite of all these i could not resist myself from giving this resort a 5 star.

Prime Location, Premium Rooms, Premium Service, what else would a customer need!

Honestly, In Darjeeling, there is no replacement for this hotel.

They have provided me with the Deluxe room, which was stinking and is too small for my family (two adults and two kids - (10-12 years old). When I asked the hotel staff, they provided me with a room fresher and were not ready to upgrade. The hotel staff is well aware that we are four people and agreed that the room is too small for us. My kid got sick that night due to a stinking room. After so many follow-ups and we somehow manage to upgrade to 2 BHK rooms for next night with extra cost. The manager (Swernim) was not at all happy with the upgrade (as the problem was escalated to higher management). She made my experience in the hotel worsen when she charged me 1500 Rs for the removable stain on the quilt cover due to the kid vomiting. She hasn't asked about my kid's wellness but was more concerned about why we did this and was pointing fingers at me and my family.

The road from the hotel entry gate to the hotel is very steep and might be dangerous if you are walking. So you may need to take a taxi on both sides which may cost 500 Rs approx.

Food is so so.

The hotel view is very good but food and services will worsen your experience.

Was an unbelievable start to our trip. The views and hospitality make it quite unique. The location of the hotel is stunning and perfect for relaxing. The staff really went out of their way to ensure that we were made to feel as welcome and comfortable as possible.

We faced extreme inconvenience because of non maintenance of geyser and heater service. We went for bath and after 2 min hot water stopped and chilled cold water started coming. Hotel says it will take 25 min to heat geyser and after 1.5 hour also no hot water was there. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service and it turned our stay duration there very bad. Same with heater. Staff were supportive as they provided hot water but with such 4 star hotel it was not at all expected. We have booked family room and even then we faced such trouble.

Awesome hotel. You can get an awesome view of Kanchanjunga. Only issue is with the location of the hotel. It is situated in very steep place. Normal drivers will get it very difficult to climb. But for Darjeeling drivers it is not that easy.

Highly Overrated -
If you're paying 5.5K per night and still get a room where geyser is capable for only one person and later power unavailability.

Cons: -
1) Management doesn't know about their preferences i.e. I booked my whole trip with them in four hotels but still they opted to give us a room without a view.
2) Outdated facilities in room.
3) Tasteless and very expensive food.
4) Order delay goes upto 1 hour.
5) Half broken Mirrors.
6) few lights not in working condition.
7) electricity outage.

Pros: -
1) Expensive for a richer feeling.
2) good looking from outside.
3) Location is on the way to peace pagoda.

Still disappointed with the way they are managing it and I hope they will consider it to get upgrade.

Pros: Location with Kanchanjunga view (from terrace, restaurant and coffee lounge on the first floor). Tasty food.
Cons: The way leading to the resort (you need to see it to believe the steep road!).
The lack of proper room heating system in the shivering cold.
The British rooms stuffed with unnecessary old furniture.
Deceiving image of the hotel. The actual resort is nowhere as beautiful with areas of maintenance work going on. No lawn or garden.
The food order takes at least 1 hour to deliver (the new restaurant being started may solve the problem) and
The biggest let down is the breakfast. How can that justify a 4 star hotel?
NO gym or swimming pool.
With all these limitations and the higher price makes me give only 3 stars.

It was waste of money.we didn't had proper food also.if u don't go soon for breakfast or dinner everything will get over.simply they will give respond that there are under construction and all.half of our time waste there by waiting for food.rooms are very small.water heater will take more than an hour to get heat. I never recommended to anyone.

As a resort situated in the midst of mountains it is evident that the rooms are going to be mountain facing. You wake up to the view of hills under the beautiful white cotton like clouds. As a well-equiped resort, 24 hours running hot water is available which is very important yet can be found everywhere. But there's something that they provide their boarders and that is an assurance to be by their boarders all the time. I visited Darjeeling just a week back that is from 21st October-25th October with my family. My mother-in-law got sick one night and we had to rush to the hospital. The manager Sonam and his whole crew were by our side. He along with my husband and few other people carried my mother-in-law up to the car (the resort car) and went to the hospital with us. The hospital is a wreck. She was to be admitted but unfortunately their were no ward boy to carry her to the third floor. Dipen the driver of the car said he will take the charge. And he with my husband and his friend wheeled the stretcher up to the third floor then immediately ran to hotel and brought us pillow, bedsheet and blankets so that she is not cold. They gave us the car for our trips and even the next day when we came back to the hotel served my mother-in-law with light khichdi so that she feels better. Each and every member of the resort kept checking on us for the rest of the trip. If you ask me, you will find innumerable resorts and hotels with great mountain view room, 24hours running hot water and delicious food but you will never come accross a resort where they make the boards feel like home. Udaan Dekeling Resort is now my home in Darjeeling. Infinite thank yous are not enough for what you all did for us ️

You will get a nice view of Kanchanjangha from hotel terrace itself. Premium Rooms were decent with wooden setups.
Far away from Darjeeling Mal road, not within walking distance. Not recommended for aged people as hotel entrance itself is very tough to climb as it’s highly elevated.

We stayed at Udaan Dekeling from 21-23 October 2021. Overall stay was very good. The views from the hotel are awesome (though it got impacted due to bad weather). Rooms are spacious and well heated. Food is also very tasty & hygienic. But the best part of the hotel is the staff. The staff is very courteous, helpful & friendly. The way they treat the guests show how well they have been trained & how serious they are in the business. Right from reception, dining hall, bell boy, waiters, etc, all of them are very polite. One of the families had a medical emergency late night & the staff went beyond their regular responsibilities to ensure that the family reached hospital on time. They also served warm food to the family when they came back late night from hospital. Overall, a very memorable stay at Udaan Dekeling. Next time when i am in Darjeeling, i will definitely stay there.

Staff and the food is excellent but do not book any car services from the hotel quality of the car not good

Not sure why there are so many good reviews for this resort but it is a pretty big let down. The location is very uphill from the city centre and hence you will be charged exorbitantly by any cab driver to take you there. The rooms are spacious but the amenities are basic. Wifi is not available inside the rooms even though they advertise it as having free Wi-Fi. The restaurant is pure veg with very limited menu options which they haven't put anywhere on their website which is misleading honestly. The view is OK and the hotel looks good if you just want a pretty thing to look at without any practicality. We paid upwards of 4.5k for two adults which I felt was not justified and you can find much better hotels elsewhere.

Fantastic location. Very nice heating system, location, floral decoration, what a view, Nice food, staff is so courteous, people are polite, very welcoming! Best part it is 100% vegetarian!

The resort itself is a true heritage. Stayed in a British room which felt like living in a aristocrat ambience. All staff were extremely polite. Special thanks to Dipen Dixen and Sonam, staff members who made my stay at Dekeiling a memorable one. Five stars from me:)

Had stayed in this place in Feb 2020. Lovely peaceful, clean, freshness in air. Had stayed in the British room (little here & there it was not clean) else overall a good hotel. Advise to stay in standard rooms overlooking the mountain for a better view in the morning. Food is good. Staff are okay types. If it's a clear morning, then you can spot the Kanchanjanga peak from they portico outside or restaurant.

Book this hotel at your own risk. Make sure you have refundable booking because in case of any unfortunate event like bad weather or accident, they will not refund your booking amount. No matter how big/small it is.

In my case I did a one night booking with them through EaseMyTrip website. There were huge rains and landslides in Darjeeling and so we were not able to travel. Inspite of being genuine reason which is not under your control, the hotel and website both denied the cancellation and refund.

Too steep to walk and reach, but is worth the pain for the view, ambiance and lovely food they serve.
Good variety of flowers and Special room heaters which I haven't seem else where.
Parking and driving needs A local expert.
Locoshed and heritage train station too within 10min drive or 20min walk.
Do have the taxi to come back if not use to steep walk

Very useless services, after taking booking payment from us, when we call the hotel, they said that we have no booking, totally fraud UDAAN HOTELS. There is a guy his name is Arnab, he have no manners how to talk customers, he was shouting on me very badly.

I booked British rooms there is no view on ground floor rooms, the washroom is pretty old and has leaky taps, manager was nice enough to move my room to upper level. But the issue is there is construction going on making my stay not at all peaceful. There is disturbing sound through out the day. Food is also okay.

The same resort is one of best you could find in Darjeeling. We booked Luxury and British rooms. Rooms were nice but there was no almirah in luxury room which would made easier to keep clothes. Food can be better. Breakfast was good but the in room service food can be better.

I am posting this review on the basis of my experience. I go for a complete package with udaan and feel like a cheated.
1. Balcony room were promised but not provided.
2. No balcony with any of the room.
3. Rooms are so conjusted that you can even breath without a window open for the room.
4. Staff (aadarsh) will behave like a goon because of his home city.
5. Location is good.
6. Away from mall road keep this in mind.

The place, ambience and staff are all very nice. The view of Kanchanjanga is awesome, really loved the atmosphere and hospitality.

Very good hotel. Friendly and well behaved staff. The location of the hotel is pretty good with Mall road being only 1km away. You can see Himalayan range from the view if the sky is clear.

The room and restaurant price is decent. The breakfast buffet is also good.

Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting darjeeling.

Staffs are very helpful. Location is also good, clear view of kanchenzanga from room. But restaurant is pure veg.

At a good location, nearly 1.3 kms from the Mall road they provide well equipped & well decorated rooms with a beautiful view of Kachenjunga and other associated peaks from the setback area. Parking option is also there. Room charges are a little bit on the higher side, but its worth staying there.

Hotel had nice view of surrounding kanchenjenga range. The heating range from heater could be improved as it kept warm in a specific area. The restaurant has moderate setting and small. The rooms were very clean and spacious.

Restaurant has only veg food. Bed warmer, room heater and wood fire inside the room helped as temp went to minus during night.

Amazing place to stay. Cozy rooms made in British style offer an amazing view to the city and mountains. The rooms have a sitting area having fireplace as the highlight nn each room which makes the place worth it. The food is good and staff is very helpful. The place is definitely worth the price.

Hotel is located near Gandhi road but on a road where it is difficult to find cab. Main reception is at a height from main gate and the climb is very steep of about 150m. It is tedious to walk with luggage. Also, it is a pure veg hotel with limited options on food menu. Breakfast is decent. Rooms are spacious, clean and have heating panels too. Most rooms have a good view and from restaurant, you can clearly see Kanchenjunga range. Overall a pleasant stay but a bit expensive considering limited services they have.

The resort was beautiful, cozy with all the facilities also had an amazing view from the room. The staff was great and so was the food! Great job! Highly recommended.

One of the best resort in darjeeling. The location is simply great we can see Kanchenjunga and whole of darjeeling town from other side.we can see both sunrise and sunset from this property.

The best place in darjeeling for couple friendly trip. The service was at the best. Food is also good. They welcomed us with honour. The rooms also have good sightseeing. And they provide heater for everyroom. The heater maintain the temperature inside the room and let you sleep undisturbed by temperature.

Pros and cons:
Food quality is good but they only serve veg foods.

You have to take a taxi or personal car to reach to the hotel as it is located at a hill top. Hence walking from the main road to reach the hotel will not be a good idea.

Although the service is definitely l good but the staff would push you to give some feedback online (TripAdvisor).

Wonderful hotel with view of Kanchanjunga. The rooms were very clean and spacious service is very good but the entrance is very steep making difficult to climb

E stayed here from December 14th through 16th, 2019. We were greeted with traditional Khata (tibetian scarf), which symbolizes purity and compassion and is worn or presented with incense at many ceremonial occasions, including births, weddings, funerals, graduations and the arrival or departure of guests.

Room: :
The room was very spacious and was very neat and clean. All the basic amenities were provided in the room. Room heater was available and best part was they also have electric bed heaters which will keep you warm while you're asleep or on bed.

Food: :
The hotel is a pure veg hotel which was a good thing for us. The buffet breakfast has good choice of menu. We had Ajwain Paratha, Beet root Puri and dum aaloo. Sushant and Sushmika from the restaurant made sure that we don't leave empty stomach and provided freshly cooked parathas and puris when we went for breakfast.
This is really commendable job from both of them and other staff as well. Special thanks to Alex for recommending us with the orders for lunch and dinner. To name a few, we had Bengali khichdi, roti sabzi (mix veg and gobi mutter), Dal rice. The food served in the hotel room was hot and tasted good.

The location of the hotel is good with an amazing view of the Kanchenjunga mountain. We had our stay in Premium room.

The entire hotel staff is extremely cordial and are always ready to help you with a smiling face. Would like to mention few names, though not limited to these only.

This hotel is approx 1.5 km from the main darjeeling chowrasta market. The entrance to the hotel has a steep road, which could give difficulty climbing if you are not used to hilly areas.
The market however is at a walking distance and would take 15 minutes downhill and 30 minutes uphill walk. We had booked a premium room and the room was spacious. The room had a hill view with a giant glass window. The room has a bed heater, a heater on the walls above the bed to keep the room warm and heaters inside mirrors.
The entrace to the room has a nice view and the paths are well maintained with flower pots.
Upon reaching the hotel we were welcomed with warm tea and a white scarf around our neck.
Coming to the food options, the menu is the standard menu of the udaan chain of hotels and the price also is same across the chain. We tried the combo meal of fried rice and manchurian for dinner and the taste was great. The quantity however felt a little less in case you are super hungry. Tried ajvaain poori bhaaji in breakfast and it was yummy, esp the bhaaji was super tasty. The milk tea however was so so.
The staffs are really welcoming in nature and very friendly. The hotel has a nice view in case you plan to dine out in the open. Since it was winter and really chilly outside, so we gave it a skip.

Amazing property, excellent ambience and location, high quality food services and most importantly, amazing staff - all this together make this a memorable place to stay. Two staff members - Bishu from Restaurant & Aditi from the reception - are Highly commendable.

Recently we checked in here for 3 days 2 nights. Property is really awesome. The kanchenjunga view was clearly seen from hotel restaurent, Staff is very polite and careing and helping too.especially manager Hanuman and restaurent staff Sushmika Tamang and Sushant Sundas and Gayatri. Food was very delicious.they serve veg food here.and tasty food.they provide us complimentary cake also for my daughter's bday, thank you all.

The hotel is very good and clean with having class amenities. View from this hotel is also great in clear weather. Mall is also within walking distance. The only problem is you need to climb very stiff from the main road to reach the hotel.

It was a pleasant experience staying at Dekeling resort. This property was built around 1860 by britishers. I have booked british premium room and must say was worth it. You can enjoy the view of Mt. Kangchenjunga from this resort. The resort staff was really very good and services were also up to the mark. I am sharing few pictures.
