Not much clean but have famous fiah market. Should be bigger & well organised. Famous uttarpara library just opposite the road on bank of ganges. Also the legendary G T road portion beside is much busy & narrow.
The best market in Uttarpara. But you have to take the pain of walking around in a crowd, shout over the noise, avoid the muddy puddles, look out for stray cats and dogs, watch out for people spitting any where. Ignore all these and its the best.
Best market in the locality. Fresh fish, vegetables and groceries are available at reasonable prices. Better and costly fish is available at night, adjoining G. T. Road. Newly cemented entrance road.
I am a local of Uttarpara. I miss Lucy babur dokan, where I sometimes ate great food but Lucybabu possibly has shifted to the other world because I no longer have the stomach to eat great foods in my seventy second year. There was a time when I used to buy charcoal for my mother to cook lunch in our WW time ikmic cooker.
Definitely a great market in this area. Very famous for it's large availablity of fishes throughout the year. It is close to Town gate and opposite to Jaykrishna library at the bank of hooghly river.
Very busy market at all time. You may get everything what you need. Price depend shop to shop. Uttarpara bazar is one of the oldest bazar in West Bengal.
This is the main Basar area Of Uttarpara. A huge are of market. Here G T road is very narrow and too busy. Conneectivity to Uttarpara General Hospital and Uttarpara Railway station are avilable from this place.
It is good market place with multiple shops. However u will not find any branded shop in this part of baazar but u will found all u need. The main road is very congested and it is very populated during the evening.
I am doing shopping (bazaar) here for around 10 years now. Nothings comes cheap here. But if you are ready to pay the price you will get best vegetables, fruits, meat, fish everything, comes with lot of variety vegetables. Which you won't find any other nearby markets.
Uttarpara bazar is known for its fish market. You will get best and varieties of fish here. Best place to buy hilsa.
The only problem is the bazar is situated on very narrow congested road.pedestrian movement is risky as you will see 14 wheel truck passing just 1inch away from your foot.it's too bad a situation these days.
Also, in the bazar area you have century old Narayana tea stores ~ want to buy authentic quality darjeeling tea at half the branded price options like goodrick castleton or makaibari then this is the shop.
Always traffic jam. Too crowdy place. Time consuming. But the best things is that there is lots of shop nearby where you can find anything. Good restaurants also nearby. Better to avoid visiting in early morning or late evening as this road is mostly busy at the times.
Horrible area! Market is comparatively costly than the other parts of the sub-urban. Located in both side of the GT road, this place is a nightmare for both the public conveyance and the market-people.
This bazar is located in uttarpara. You can find almost all vegetables, fruits, groceries, meat, etc here. Thisml bazar has been here for a long time. It opens up as early as around 5am. Almost all the shops open around 5am except a few. It is open on weekdays but is closed once or twice a week. The only problem is it's not clean. Also when many people enyer it becomes jampacked. And if u are willing to buy from this market the art of bargaining is a must for your convinience. Thank you. Hope this hepls you.
Alongside ganga the most famous Bazar of Uttarpara. The national Jaykrishna library is a heritage site to us. The only reason for a 4 star because of the cozyness of that place and heavy traffic.
Uttarpara is in Hooghly Dist.but it is not far from Howrah and Kolkata. Most of the people live here are cultured and rich. It is a poss area. The Uttarpara market fulfills all demand of the local people. Sweet Shops, Jewellery shops, Vegetable market and fish market, Electronic goods shop, furniture shop, paint shops, staionary shops are there. Good quality materials are available there.
I went to Mandirbari ghat. At night the both side of river Ganga is looking beautiful by lights. I again attend that place after returning back from Neatherland.
Good place for shopping of all household items along with low prices in fruits, vegetables and availability of fresh and different varieties of fish and meat.
