Overall a wonderful experience.the food served was fresh and delicious.the buffet offers a wide range of options for dining and is the safest if you are confused what to eat.service needs to be uplifted a little elsewise loved it would visit again

This a mid category buffet with fixed limited menus. Service is good, taste wise upto the mark, but dont compare with BBQ Nations/ ABQ in terms of buffet menu options.

On the occassion of my better half Moumita Basu Mitra 's birthday we went to have lunch at the multi cuisine inhouse restaurant of hotel Fern Residency, called XII zodiac. Situated on the second floor, the restaurant has beautiful interiors replete with blue and white coloured drapes, ceilings and seats. The buffet, competitively priced at only Rs. 626 has unlimited starters and desserts. Their line up of three veg starters, non veg starters, main course and five kinds of desserts remain the same while they change the menu every week.

Veg starters (9/10) : - We got tandoori aloo, tandoori paneer tikka and corn sheekh kebabs as veg starters, paneer was excellent, just adequately charred and juicy (took two helpings!), corn sheekh kebab was extremely tasty, tandoori aloo was also very good, just a little bit on the saltier side. We were also served a tom yum soup which was amazing to say the least.

Non veg starters (9/10) : - We were given chicken malai tikka, chicken tandoori masala and basa mahi tikka. Loved the fish kebab, succulent and tender it melted in my mouth. Chicken tandoori masala was excellent too. However, chicken malai tikka was a tad disappointing, found the pieces to be a little tough for a kebab.

Main Course (8/10) : - For main course, there were quite a few items, both in veg and non veg sections. Among them mutton Biriyani and nilgiri chicken were served on the table. Nilgiri chicken, with its strong coriander and mint fragrance, and juicy chunks of chicken pieces was the star of the main course for me. Mutton biriyani was tasty but imho it fell short of expectations because of the usage of strong meetha attar which didn't suit our palate, however mutton pieces were super soft and juicy. The vegetarian items like dal and tawa sabji were flavourful. Fish fry was very tasty though a little small in size. One time soft drink is also given alongwith the main course which was refreshing as usual.

Desserts (10/10) : - Believe it or faint, there is not an iota of exaggeration when I state that their desserts by far are the best in any buffet of this price range atleast in Kolkata. The gulab jamun, mini malpua, black forest pastry, brownies and the cold pudding were excellent and more importantly not overtly sweet.

Overall, it was a superb lunch with excellent service at the xii zodiac. We thanked "our stars" for sure!

Good location. Less spacious. AC was not working properly.
Veri limited items for buffet (both starters and main courses). They haven’t repeated some of the items even after asking for multiple times. Food quality is so so. But service was pathetic. Overall not recommend.

The food was awful didn't worth paying that much amount of money. Service was very late. Not gonna recommend at all

I have went to xii zodiac restaurant with my friends. The buffet spread was great. Mutton biryani was top notch. The service and behaviour of staff was excellent. Hospitality of Miss Tika along with her Team was Excellent. All the staff were masks and followed covid protocol. Will definitely visited again and recommend others.

Nice buffet items and fantastic starters. But main course menus should be cooked in a better way.

The Durga Puja Menu 2021 has been launched at a price of 1096 per person and the buffet here is totally worth it. I can vouch for the food quality here. Starting from the starters to the desserts, it was all very mouth watering and delicious.

The decor of the restaurant and the theme is the 12 zodiac signs. The staff over there are very courteous and the service is quite prompt.

This place is a bit expensive but the food quality and ambience is worth every penny. They also serve buffet.

A must visit place. The starters were really awesome. Especially the chicken kabab which was so juicy. The mutton biriyani was also good. In dessert the Rabri was really good. Each and every dish was good. Even the welcome drink was also good. We had to wait for the starters to come. The staffs were polite. Overall a nice experience.

Had the buffet today. Food was below quality, the fish starter ran out and wasn't refilled, spoons plates forks not available on the counters

Xii zodiac situated in Hotel Fern residency just behind Noapara bus stand Newtown. Buffet food quality was average. Starters are good that include 2 veg and 2 non veg item. Main course was avarage that includes veg and non veg also. Dessert was horrible, baked bundi and other items were below avarage. Overall it's ok type.

Guys this place is just wow.
The ambiance the quality of food the way they are presenting it everything is top notch.
Always try the buffet as it's very value for money and try there fish item for sure. They have some of the best item iin fish category.

Food is okay, not that good, kabab wasn't boneless, which is not at all expected, when spreads are limited, one will expect good quality food atleast, but they fall short on that too! Dessert section is a mess, kinda money making vibe i got from them which was overpowering, maybe they should improve all these, service is bad i can say, as i had to call the waiter for 4times just to get water, not a good experience i must say!

XII Zodiac located in between Chinar park and CC2 at Newtown. The restaurant is at 2nd floor with parking space at ground floor. The place is very pleasant in terms of family and friends hangout. You can opt for buffet or ala carte menu and also a bar available in-house. The buffet is reasonable around 650, if you purchase it from near buy app. I would recommend others to avail this place. The buffet was just wasting of money.the dessert was not great what I expected. I would not recommend this buffet.and there was this dessert which taste just the mixture of banana and milk was horrible.

Located at Chinar Park, near City Centre II, XII Zodiac is a restaurant of The Fern Residency, a 3 Star Hotel. The restaurant boasts of providing a widespread buffet, which includes Tibetian, Indian, Mughal, Chinese and Continental dishes. Not only that, you can also order other various lip smacking delicacies from the A La Carte Menu, and have a variety of alcoholic and non- alcoholic drinks as well. Immediately after reaching, we were served a couple of dishes from the A La Carte Menu, which were:

Poor buffet menu considering the price. Dining at flame and grill or BBQ is a far better option.

We had a family lunch in XII Zodiac. This is famous for buffet but we opted order foods.we selected foods from menu. Foods are very delicious.you can plan for celebration of birthday, anniversary. I liked their hospitality.

Food was Awesome. Just loved it, Specially Mutton Biriyani was too good. Starters were also very good. There was issue with baked rologolla in desert section but they replaced with Golapjamun as soon as we informed them. Staffs' are well mannered too. It was a day of Bengali new year Eve and we went for a lunch. First thing I want tell you is the hospitality service i.e. The cordial behaviour of staffs. Although it was crowded because of the seasons Eve but we got a table within 10 minutes. We choose buffet. There was few number of items at the starter and that served in table. Starter was good. Aam pora sharbat was quite impressive. Main courses were also mouth watering, specially the mutton and the prwan item and chicken paturi was the item I had never tested. It was quite good. All of this, the pulao was the hero of the show. Refilling of items in the main menu was too slow. When it came to desert It was quite disappointing, sweets, baked rosgollas was not up to the mark.
Overall a fine buffet experience it was. Restaurant was properly maintained. Every part of the restaurant was fine touched with art and zodiac sign.

Decent spread of items. You'll find a couple of them really tasty while the rest are just ok. Desert items could be upgraded a bit. In terms of ambience, it's really good, especially if you're able to secure a window table. Nice decor overall, polite and helpful stuff, and. A live music on the weekends. What more can you possibly ask for?

Worst service ever had.thought of a good memorable moments on our team dinner.totally unprofessional staff. Total wastage of money. I would have given the review on negative scale if it would be possible.

The ambience in this restaurant is just wonderful.especially at night with the candles and all.

The staff are very well behaved. As for food items, there is not too much vareity but the choice is not too limited either.

Overall a great restaurant. All foodies must go. And to the romantic ones out there.please visit after the sun sets. It is one of the few heaven like places for you.

Booked dinner buffet here for my child’s Birthday party; the service, food quality, hospitality is excellent. Took special care of children need. A real value for money.

I went here for my birthday party in 2017. The place ambience is great. The buffet served was amazing and the service is beautiful.

Starters were served on the table and the service was quick. You can also ask for modification, if you want to make it more spicy or less spicy.

Main course does not have much options but still the food taste doesn't make you feel bad about the less options.

Overall the place is a great thumbs up from my side.

We visited this place in the summer of 2018. Lovely staff and interior. Complimentary dish is appreciable. Food is also good.

A good place to come and dine with your loved ones. Service was good and food tested lovely. They can well arrange a candle light dinner.

Very bad experience, I guess if you are eating your first buffet and do not know what other big names likes bbq or flame & grills provide in almost the same price then it is okay, but compared to these places it is just ridiculous. We took the buffet, the starters were not upto the mark along with the service, we thought may be main course and desert would be better, but it went downhill from there, not enough varieties, the desert was the worst part, with even ice cream provided also of a very below average category
