Yankee Village Resort

Under the new management this place feels lovely! The main attraction is the view from the rooms/balcony. All rooms come with the same view of Kanchanjungha and the wide valleys. They've also made a few colourful corners/staircases that are photogenic.

It was a nice and pleasant experience at yankee's homestay although the weather was a bit harsh still it was good. Would love to come back. You might see a few bad reviews but don't go for it as the new owner has renovated the rooms so overall a nice stay.

If there were negative ratings would have given that. It's HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Never ever go, atleast not with small children. The behavior of the owner his wife is horrible. Geyser doesn't work, generator doesn't work, room heater doesn't work. They won't give you warm water to bathe, they won't give you extra candle in case you have burnt one, they wont give you second or third helping of food. It's any traveller's worst nightmare. Rooms are small, toilet is tiny, mattress unwashed, trailers can overlook it if the behavior of the people running the place is good, but it isn't.

Worst home stay service I have ever seen. Rooms were dirty. No electricity no generator. They have gizer in every room but didn't allowed to use it. Owner and his wife is very rude. They served our drivers basi food. Worst experience ever.

Not recommended at all. I visited this during Puja (03/10/2022 - 05/10/2022). Service was worthless, you have to request for tea also, as per stuff “চা র কথা বলতে হবে তো”. Serving breakfast at 10AM and you have to wait for food also it will take huge time between food servings. The room has no setup for keeping cloths, geyser was not working and no hand flush in the toilet too. They might deserve two stars for food quality because it’s good. For some foods cooking is good also they made pulao and chilli chicken which was unexpectedly good. But overall the service in season like puja was disaster.

One point* view is good but not photogenic because of electrical wires are blocking the view.

This village resort, is awesome. You can see Mount Everest range from your window of the room. The rooms are made of wooden, but the rooms are too much decorative, attached toilet you will have inside the room. Problem is for water. The flow of water is not constant but still they manage. The food and the quality of food is too good. You can have Bengali people over there. So not a big deal to stay in this home stay. I stayed over here for 2 days.

Very horrible experience! Never visit this homestay! You will get so many better places nearby in Rishav. Go there instead of Yankee. We have visited on 2 to 3 rd Jan 2022. The room was dirty, the blankets were smelling.not washed for months! Condom packets were on the floor. There was no facilities at all! The staff named Kanchan was not supportive at all and full of lies! The rooms were very small, there was no soaps or towel available in the bathroom. The bathroom is also very small and dirty. The quality of food is very bad! Food served was cold and stale. The bahaviour was so much bad. We asked for room heater providing with extra charges, they provided one broken heater which was not getting heated at all. Complaint so many times but no vain! The bedsheets was dirty and not changed for months. The water supply is also inadequate! Drinking water also not available. Never visit this homestay! You will get so many better places near by in Rishav.

The best thing about this hotel is the view of the mountain. But that was also spoiled by some wires in front of the view. Roofs are made of wood which is the most annoying when you are asleep. If you are staying on the ground floor. You will hear the footstep all over your head.

Rooms are small and less maintained. Mirrors on the dressing table are broken. The Interior and the bed covers, blankets look dirty. There is no room heater. You will only get hot water from the geyser from 7 am to 9am.

Food - oh.it's not recommended. They Dont serve meals in the room. And Dont provides evening snacks. Only tea and biscuits. Tea tastes horrible. And other foods are not at all good. For a family person, this place might be okay because of the system. But for friends and groups, it's not at all good. A hotel can't be run only with 3 people.

There are plenty of other options in Rishyap. Please visit there.

The hotel was not so good because of the stuff. We stayed there in 7th to 9th January 2021 in the corona situation but i think the experience we faced that was horrible rather than corona.
Coming to the hotel room, it is so small and there is no heater. If you want to heat yourself talk to there stuff.no need for heater
Coming to the food, The food was not enough to eat and there is no extra food.
Coming to the bathroom there is no soap and the room is also small

We stayed there for 2 days. Their stuff's behaviour was too poor and annoying. Food quality was not so good. Bathrooms were not so comfortable as well. I would not suggest anyone to book this homestay. It may ruin your tour. Thank you guys! !

Bangali khabar r vison valo appayon. A very nice place for Bengalis (food and stay) and very good hospitality.

Very dirty hotel. I stayed there from 16.06.18 to 17.06.18 morning. Rooms are very small, beds are dirty & sticky. Carpets are dirty. Bathroom is also too small, commode seat found broken. Water taps are defective. Food quality is moderate. Overall maintenance is very poor. The only positive point is position of hotel.

Situated in a very remote location near about 8000 ft above sea level, this hotel in Rishwap was quite good. The front appearance may not seem so posh and well decorated but the rooms and dinning space are really good and well maintained. Before going to Rishwap please keep in your mind that the condition of the road is like "Highway to hell ". Always Remember not to judge a book by looking at its cover.
